I absolutely love this location and Mona the instructor and Christie the Owner are so welcoming Everyone is always so nice and encouraging I look forward to the variety of classes and even want to go on Sundays! It was so challenging but very rewarding. My entire body is the most sore I've ever been in my life though However, I have a lot of lingo to learn and definitely need to practice my poses. This barre studio is small and cute. The instructors were very nice. It was very easy to keep up in class but some of the exercises were difficult for me to do since I had not worked out in 6 months. After class was over, I felt very stretched. I love this place and will go back soon. read more

I absolutely love Pure Barre!! I have had back pain for well over a year because of a herniated disc and 2 bulging discs. I have tried almost everything. I have been going to Pure Barre since August of last year. It has helped more than anything. So much that I have not been in pain everyday in almost three months. Not only have I lost my pain, I have also gained so much muscle!! I have worked out my whole life, tough cycle, and I have great defined muscles. This is the hands down the best lean muscle building classes I have had. Deb and the girls are absolutely amazing! They are so sweet! Loved it!!! DJK always stated that barre classes are awesome, just sad that I didn't try out sooner! Pure barre dunwoody is located in a shopping plaza with brusters, restaurants, and other shops. First time in this area, was so lost but looked very safe and plenty of patrons everywhere and also plenty of parking, which was convenient. Went on a week night for a 7:15 class and it was just the right size(around 10) class for me to keep up. On your first time, you fill out a form and take your shoes off to take to the back storage room with cubbies. Pick up your ball and rope and find a spot. I chose to be in the front to watch the instructor. The whole time the instructor was very attentive to everyone's form and would instruct throughout the whole class. It sort of felt like aerobics and very upbeat and cheerful exercises. Most of the moves were stretching but it really gets go your muscles/core that you never work out that I was sweating while everyone else looked poised. At the end, someone complimented me on my first class and left feeling even better lol. Will definitely come back!!! Oh, but definitely buy non slip socks as half of yhe exercises are done on the carpeted floor that you'll end up slipping and sliding. Other half is done on the ballet posts. P.S. Rebecca is my favorite instructor! Highly recommend her class =) read more

In my experience, a knock off generally doesn't measure up to the original. That isn't the case with PB. I've found that both of the other studios I've tried (Pink Barre & Elevate) have left me with a much more memorable experience. What they lack in quality, they make up for in quantity. There's a studio in pretty much any part of town. If you're looking for a barre fix in Dunwoody, here's your option. This location is the second location of PB I've tried (the other being Westside). I had a very similar experience at this one as I did at the other one. I walked out of the studio generally unimpressed. There was nothing absolutely horrible about the class, but nothing that really stood out. I had to look up the instructor's name because she didn't introduce herself when I walked in & told her I was new to that location. Overall, I've found their instructors to be less welcoming and willing to offer corrections or modifications. Even in that cattle call that was the barre class at Exhale, the instructor made a point to call me by name to correct me. Can't that be managed in a 10 person class? I have 3 classes a month through ClassPass and I've yet to use all three. Once I've run out of classes at Pink Barre or Elevate is when I start hitting up Pure Barre. I wanted to give them an "A-OK", but the experience was truly "Meh". read more

I love Pure Barre, but I really love this studio. Everyone is welcoming and friendly. Pure Barre is a great workout - oh how your legs will shake - I saw great results ( and fast ) post baby and highly recommend this workout and studio to anyone and everyone. This is my go to workout for lunch breaks. I have not been in months (thanks work and job changes) but cannot wait to get back on the LTB train (in dunwoody) after the 1st of the year. So a little bit of background: I've been going to Pure Barre DC 5 times a week since August. This was my first experience at another studio. Overall my experience was great! Taylor taught my class and she did a great job. There were a lot of people in the class who had never taken before and she helped them understand the movements. This was my first experience with double tubbing and I loved/hated it. Super hard but as I'm already feeling sore in my "seat" I think this is a good thing. I also liked that there was a large variety of clothes up front for sale. I really only have one complaint and it's pretty easy to fix.. It's the sound system. The music is pretty important in a pure barre class to keep you motivated and push you through the class, however it sounded like a old car radio. It was also too quiet which lead to lots of people talking loudly through the class and subsequently not really holding through the work out. Once that is fixed, in my mind this will be a 5 star location! read more

Loving my Pure Barre Experience! A busy mom of 3 I'm so glad I found The Dunwoody location! Convenient class times early in the evening so I can get my work out in and not miss dinner with my family. After my third C-Section I thought I'd never be able to wear jeans again but after just 1 month my body is changing daily and I'm confident this is the best workout to help me find my abs again! I love going and now this location has many different times to choose from which fits my schedule regardless of what's going in my life so that's a big plus. Great teachers and location! I am a group fitness enthusiast and have taken hundreds of barre classes (literally). Pure Barre sets itself apart from the competition by intensely focusing its choreography on tiny, pulsing movements. I make sure to visit the Pure Barre studio in Dunwoody whenever I travel to the Atlanta area. In my experience, the instructors have always been friendly and welcoming, and I love how clean and spacious the studio is. The instructors are well trained and choreograph unique routines with upbeat playlists for each class. I am always a little sore in my arms and seat after taking these classes (and I work out A LOT). These classes will change your body, particularly if you have never taken a barre, yoga, or pilates class before. A few tips before you arrive at the studio: -Wear socks (they are required) or buy a pair at the studio (sticky socks work the best) -Wear yoga style clothing -Bring a towel if you tend to sweat at all when you work out -Don't do other workouts before taking a class (save the cardio for after PB) -Let the instructor know that you are new to barre so that she can help you with your form -Remove your shoes before walking on the carpet in the studio Also, in response to a previous reviewer's comment on the socks requirement: virtually all barre classes require that you wear socks for sanitary reasons. I am personally grateful that this is a requirement. read more

I grew up a ballet dancer, and over this last summer I took barre pretty frequently at a few dance studios in the area. This, however, was unlike anything I've ever taken! There are muscles that are already sore that I did not know existed. It was a fast paced class, and I enjoyed the music selection the instructor, Erin, selected. She also made sure to correct me if I wasn't doing a movement correctly, but not too much since she knew it was my first class there. I have started going to Pure Barre Dunwoody once a week as a part of my ClassPass. The instructors are all very welcoming, especially if you're new. I've only had Kelsey as an instructor, but I can say she is very good about correcting your form if you need help (and not making you feel dumb about it!). There seem to be women of all fitness levels in these classes, so it is not intimidating if you're like me and you're just getting back into shape. I have not seen any men in these classes. Parking at this location is easy and never seems to be an issue. Pure Barre seems to be a great workout and my abs are usually sore for the next two days. I definitely recommend it! read more

Love. I've been visiting Pure Barre Dunwoody for almost a year and a half and it is stellar. I've done other barre classes and this is hands down my favorite. The instructors and owner (Deb) are friendly and knowledgable, making for a really good experience no matter who is teaching. There are all levels in class, and you simply work to your own level. Also, don't get discouraged after just one class!!! Go 2-3 times, so that you can get the hang of the moves and you will love it. Love love love. Also, another reviewer mentioned an issue with the socks, every barre class requires socks: not just PB Dunwoody. They aren't trying to sell you something, they are simply making sure you have a good class with the right equipment (ie: the socks). read more

I took the PB Pure Give class. I have wanted to try PB to vary things up (I regularly do Crossfit and kickboxing classes). I also the cause that the donations went to--the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society--is close to my heart. Upon arrival at the Dunwoody location, I filled out the paperwork with the instructor Jessica. I politely asked her if there was anything I need to know before I headed into the classroom. She asked me if I had socks. I did not (my friend takes PB at the Druid Hills location and said I didn't need them). Jessica then tried to sell me a pair of socks; I told her I wasn't interested, as I am just trying the class and not sure I will use them/return. She was snotty and said, "We don't allow people to take the class without socks, but I will let you today." I didn't feel very welcomed. She then didn't correct my form or give me much help during the class. The fellow students were not very friendly either. I am pretty in shape, I eat a paleo diet, and do the workouts I mentioned above, and I was "sized up" by the size 0-2 participants in the class. Clearly, it was a Dunwoody/Buckhead mom/sorority girl-type clique and I wasn't welcomed. I'd be willing to give another class a try with a different teacher just for a second chance. read more
