As a 68-year old, I have met massage therapists and then again massage therapists; but it wasn't…read moreuntil I finally met Emily Brack, LMT, NCMTB, NBCHT that i understood the difference between someone who has only a massage therapy license from the State of Florida, and someone (e.g. Emily) who comes to Florida from the much more stringent massage therapy licensing State of New York... for much more is required by New York before someone is ever allowed to practice massage therapy.
I work constantly on a computer and In early 2015, I somehow ended up with multiple adhesions within my neck and shoulder muscles, I tried both chiropractor and pain-killers, but nothing would work. I had heard about Emily through a friend who raved about her. So I took a chance and walked through the Accent on Wellness door, out of desperation.
On Emily's massage table, i began to experience something completely different from my other experiences in Florida. I quickly learned how her university background in biology was much more than a degree; indeed, it is the underlying key to her success in discovering "where and what" is actually going on inside you! But it doesn't stop on that table, for you are given special "homework" accelerating the entire process. As a result, my neck and shoulder adhesions disappeared!
But that was not the end of story, for in June i discovered that I desperately needed Accent on Wellness once again, but for a completely unforeseen reason...
In early May, and because I was suddenly feeling fantastic from Emily's expertise on my neck and shoulders, I decided to begin a personal rigorous 3-mile daily walking regimen, with an additional 40 push-ups with feet elevated onto a park bench, for good measure! Reason being, when one is 68, one may start to believe that one will live forever, lol.
However, my left heel, after 3 weeks of this reginmen, and which had been fractured 16 years earlier from a fall onto a concrete sidewalk, had a completely different about human durability!
My foot suddenly began to swell up with excruciating pain, and with my resulting inability to walk even across my living room! A podiatrist's x-rays soon showed the beginning stages of arthritis, which i had mildly experienced these past 16 years, but was not bad enough these past years to keep me from exercising! So these current x-rays could not explain the excruciating pain making it impossible for me to walk... and SO THIS IS WHERE, once again, Emily Brack CAME TO MY RESCUE, carefully exploring the mechanics of my ankle and then discovering damage to soft tissue with accompanying adhesions in the ankle! After now 6 sessions, I am finally beginning to walk again with slight remaining pain -- and with it, a renewed hope that i will soon be able to get back to my exercise regimen.
I cannot end this post without mentioning that Accent on Wellness, besides Emily's great talent, has a "secret weapon" created by one of the best scientific minds on how electrical current can help the body heal itself -- yet I won't go any further into this "secret weapon", or to mention again my ongoing gratitude for the presence of this business in Sebastian, because what you really need to do is simply go visit ACCENT ON WELLNESS and you will certainly see for yourself!
