Eat here at least once a month. Service is fast and attentive. The food comes out piping hot. The pupusas in this place are authentic, a little crunchy on the outside, soft and gooey inside. Also, love the help yourself side of curtido (the spicy cabbage slaw). I usually just order a few of the chicharon and queso pupusas, and enjoy a tamarindo drink and watch a soccer game... but I plan to try the elote and maduros next time I'm in. I've been wanting good papusa's for a while. Finally made the 40 min drive and happy we did. I had 3 Papusa flavors. Chicharrone and Cheese. Bean and Cheese. Jalapeño and cheese. All of them were delicious! And the slaw!?! Don't get me started. I loved it and they put a generous sized jar on each table. Hubby had a steak dish and the meat had such an amazing flavor. I've been to this place three times now, when traveling in the area on business. This is a very popular with the local Latino community - its been full at both lunch and dinner time when I have visited. The majority of the folks working there are Spanish speaking only - but communication was not a problem. I had a discussion with the owner about Yelp.com and then when I came back three months later she recognized me! I've had both Papusas and the El Salvadorian breakfast - both of which I dearly love and seek out when traveling. Restaurant has always been very clean and bright. I really recommend it! read more

This was my first experience with Salvadoran food and it blew me away. It will not be the last time we stop by for a quick cheap bite. It's a pretty unassuming spot right off the road in Berea. All the food was phenomenonal and had tons of flavor. The pupusas were sooo good. We had a pork and a chicken. They are $2 each. We also had empanadas which were delicious and HUGE. Also cheap. The Rice with Shrimp was a big portion for $10 and full of flavor. They brought out cabbage and salsa and some sort of crema to add to the dishes. My girlfriend and I spent about $20 for the both of us and weren't even able to finish everything we ordered. If you want to experience authentic Salvadoran food or you want a delicious cheap meal this is the spot. read more

This place was popping around lunch time! We came around 11:30am and it was already filled with people. Pupusas for $2.50 each?? You cannot beat that! We ordered two each and it was the best $5 lunch ever! We tried the mixta (chicharrones + cheese/beans) and pollo and both kinds were great. The chicharrones filling were our personal fave. They come plain and you can add the pickled cabbage and mild or spicy salsa on top as you please. Great little spot, will be back! read more

Slow service. I never got a refill on my drink, the waitresses were being inappropriate with men, and restrooms were dirty.

Take a shot every time I say pupusa. My family and I love coming here. I crave pupusas almost every week and we travel almost 30 minutes just to come here. The owners recognize us and treat us like friends. The pupusas are melt in your mouth delicious. I always get the pork and cheese pupusas but they have many variations. Leaving Greenville heading east up into the mountains, this place jumped out: a pupusa joint in anonymous Berea, SC. I don't eat breakfast, but it was 11am, and the prospect of pupusas was irresistible. I've had them in Madison, Minneapolis, and Vegas, and always was swept into heaven. The place is spic & span. All other pupusa joints I've been to have had some minor to major grungy aspects, and horrible lighting. This place was bright, fresh, sweet as candy. She said that it would be 10 minutes. No problem, It was a delight wandering the aisles, and seeing canned and jarred things I've never seen before: Salvadoran, Costa Rican, and Colombian. I'm posting the pictures. They also had plantain chips in all different flavors and forms (including long, dry, and banana-like). They had dried Columbian cheese, and coconut pop, et. al. Jalapeno tuna? I got the pupusas to go (one chicharron & queso; one frijole & queso; $2 each, no tax) but first juiced them up with hot sauce, and then ate them off the pax seat of the rental car. I thought I would only have a couple bites, but they were too incredible. That griddled soft corn/masa, and the melting, richly flavorful fillings. What an incredibly perfect lunch, dinner, snack, little bit of heaven. I tried to Google them, but there is barely anything but an address. these pupusas are delightful! Its packed with meat & cheese and you add slaw on top to add a new texture and some health. There's also a spicy sauce that you dip it into and it's serious, so be aware! If I wasn't fasting, I would try to come here for lunch weekly read more

Stopped here since i was traveling and i was craving honduran food. I got a pupusa and baleada. The pupusa was good and so was the baleada. The tortilla could have been better on the baleada but it was still good. I recommend and you can order on yelp too which i recommend because they were busy! read more

Worse service. We ordered takeout and the foam where the pupusas were placed overheated creating a whole and egg shape on the bottom. The pupusas looked like mixed spaghetti and undercooked. We've been here several times to eat and takeout and this has been the worst service. They need to put aluminum on the bottom and paper between each pupusa so they don't stick between each other and place them in a stronger takeout container that would be more resistant to the heat. I called the place back and took the food back. The owner didn't apologize, just said bring them and we will redo them. I was so disappointed and just asked for my money. Is really disappointing to travel 45 minutes for this kind of service. Never going back. They also had tables set out (due to COVID-19) and one client sat outside (it was a hot day), the client wanted to open the umbrella and the owner refused and told the client they couldn't open the umbrellas. Now why on earth you would allow your clients to open them and instead have them seat in the sunny heat outside. Worse place in Greenville. read more
