The staff were very friendly, however when we got ready to pay, the waitress mentioned cash only, however as we got up to leave we saw another table with a larger group of people paying with a card. Small complaint, however something that should have been mentioned prior to us ordering. The food was good, the coffee was one of the best we had during our visit.

I do wish they opened a little earlier as we had a couple early mornings without any coffee available. They serve ice cream/sorbet, coffee drinks, sandwiches, and desserts. PRO TIP: if you have an early morning flight and have to leave the resort before anything opens, grab some bagel sandwiches to go the night before and keep them in your mini fridge. We saved spending $80 on breakfast at the airport by doing this! The turkey bagel was perfect for this. We had several iced coffee drinks while we were there. I liked the paradise coffee, with coconut cream, pineapple juice, and shredded coconut. It was a unique drink that was refreshing and interesting. We also had some mandarin sorbet, which was a refreshing treat. I saw some people playing cards in the cafe which was nice. It's a cozy spot and I wish I would have spent more time there.

The Coffee Stop was down the block from our hotel and getting coffee from Paul, the owner, quickly became our morning routine. A great place for casual conversation, meeting with locals, expats and other tourists, and enjoying a relaxed vibe. Paul is an awesome guy, super friendly and knowledgeable about the area. There is so much going on in that tiny little city and we wanted to pack in as much as we could the six days we were there. He gave us great recommendations for activities and excursions as well as restaurants to try in the area. To top it off, the coffee is actually delicious! Paul explained that it was locally grown and how the beans were processed. We even made sure to buy a bag to take with us back to NYC. Now every morning I make my coffee and it reminds me of the amazing time I spent in Mexico. I will definitely return to Paul and the Coffee Stop next time I am in Playa.
