Other than having a beautiful ambiance this place was not it for me with the food. 6/10 recommend!

Upon entering I was greeted by eager staff and Chef Ram himself. They seated me at a table and confirmed if I was there for the lunch buffet. The personable staff offered to bring drinks and ushered me decent buffet offerings were beyond expectations. The buffet consisted of both Vegetarian and Non-Vegetarian options including a salad bar, Achar (pickles), Dahi / Raita (yogurt / with cucumbers), Chutney, Veggie Samosa, Onion Bhaji, Vegetable Pakora, Fish Pakora, Tandoori Chicken, Butter Chicken, Paneer Tikka Masala, Dal Tadka, Mutton Curry, Chana Masala, Jeera Aloo, Basmati Rice, and Naan. While I was disappointed there was no Saag Paneer on the lunch buffet, there were plenty of other vegetable options available such as Vegetable Jalfrezi (Mixed vegetables cooked with onions, tomatoes, green peppers, and spices). For dessert there was Gulab Jamun, Kheer and fruit. Chef Ram has over 35 years of experience perfecting his secret recipes which delight customers daily. I absolutely love this place. Normally, a place that has a massive menu is a bit concerning to me…read moreas it often leads to not really excelling at anything, but that is not the case here in my experience. The reason behind the large menu is related to the aim of the restaurant, which is to showcase the various regional cuisines of India. As a result, don't expect the straightforward menu of: apps, entrees, deserts, etc... rather the menu is divided by cuisine. Aside from honouring tradition, they do offer a couple 'new' takes on some items. If you comb through a few reviews, and certainly the pics, you'll notice a must-order items is the roasted eggplant with pomegranate. It really is like nothing else I've had before and unforgettable in both taste and texture. My group also went with a famous lamb dish as well. I don't remember the name offhand, but it is incredibly soft, well seasoned and nicely spiced dish. We also went with orders of naan, veggie dishes and meat skewers. It's beautifully decorated inside and also has the advantage of being located in a heritage building in what was formerly an estate home nearly 150 years old. It's truly a unique place and one people living in the area can be proud and of showcase to visitors.

Considering the restaurant opened recently, my chair was rickety and the table was not too stable - a case of cheaping out a bit on furniture. There is a fine line between sophisticated low lighting and just low lighting.
