We came to this restaurant several years ago, now I know what your saying why review it now?…read moreusually I'll leave a review until I have a mood for it or at a time when I am less angry at my experience, this time was merely I forgot and because I was looking up Lebanese restaurants I bumped into it and realised I never left my upset review and so I'll do it now and while I'm in good spirits. I read a few reviews I'm pretty sure there was more then just the ones here, I read the menu looked at the pictures the whole enchilada, despite that the experience was not a nice one. My chicken shawarma was salty AF! like it had so much salt I barely managed to finish half of it let alone the entire dish. The desert I ordered was something with milk, nuts and spices? either way the spices were so overpowering it ruined the desert entirely. My mums order was a kebab plate, she was unimpressed with the flavours and so was I and both her onions that could of been eaten were burnt to a crisp and of course inedible, they were black as coal. Ordered a side of hummus or hommus not sure the difference iPad recognises one but not the other and it was gross and I've had over 20 different hommus over the years and this one was the worst of the lot. A good night ruined by bad food, maybe they've improved now maybe they haven't but the scar has stayed and we will not return. For likely the same price I can go down to the Fyshwick markets and get a super plate of shawarma and hommus that actually tastes freaking amazing, but one thing I'd tell them off for is it has way too much oil it's literally drowning in it.

Went here for the first time this evening for something different after looking for recommendations…read moreon YELP and my friend and I were pleasantly surprised. The Mezza plate for two was exceptional and a generous size portion. For the main meal I had the marinated lamb casserole with spiced rice, Lebanese bread and tzaziki.... Delish!!! It's def not the cheapest place in town but the standard of food and service was exceptional. Highly recommended.

Video at https://yummylummy.com/YT2019-09-28 I'm grateful to Elias aka @CBRFoodie and Amelia aka @EatCanberra for their recommendation. Belco Halal Kebabs & Pizzeria is within walking distance of where I live so I went there today at lunch time and bought a lamb kebab with all the salad and sour cream. It was so hot when it was handed to me it nearly scalded my hand. It was then I decided to walk home and eat it so it could cool down a little. It was a good decision in my opinion. It gave me an opportunity to photograph this kebab in all its glory. Oh. My. God. This kebab is huge. It's no surprise given this shop had its foundation in the Yarralumla Turkish Halal Pide House. I could barely get my two hands around its girth let along get my mouth around it. For twelve dollars this was value for money compared with lots of other kebabs I've eaten in my time on earth. There was so much lamb. There was a good kick of spice. There was just the right amount of sour cream. It took me a few minutes to eat the whole kebab and it was worth eating it all in one go. I didn't quite finish all the meat because there was some stuck to the aluminium foil. I can highly recommend the Belco Halal Kebabs and Pizzeria. Give it a go and tell me what you think.

Very basic decor and atmosphere with around 8 tables able to seat maybe 30 people tops. A basket of papadums was provided as we made our orders. They were light, crisp with had great bite of black pepper and surprisingly morish. We order a tandoori platter as a shared entree. Instead of the typical chicken breast found at so many Indian restaurants, there were four nicely flavoured pieces of chicken on the bone and a couple of seekh kebabs. The latter were well spiced and quite delicious. For mains we opted for a beef rang dang, chicken korma and dal mkahani with saffron rice and plain naan. My first impression was the dishes were a little on the small side but they turned out to be flavoursome and rich so we didn't feel underfed. We topped off the meal with gulaab jamun which is a dumpling soaked in cardamon syrup, and rasmalai which is paneer in a cardamon clotted cream. The restaurant is halal so all the milk based ingredients use soy. All very tasty and we felt we'd over indulged a bit by the end of the meal! Prices were a little high at $100 for three of us including a couple of mango lassis and soft drinks but we'll be back.

Finally dropped in with a close friend and was very pleasantly surprised. Good Indian food served with a smile, and Naan to die for. For those that way inclined, there's cricket on the TV on the wall. BYO with a minimal corkage. Worth repeat visits.
