Halloween is over ~ what do you do with your pumpkins? Why not recycle them? Pumpkin Smash is held at a variety of locations. I went to the one in Lisle. They have moved their location off Route 53 to the Garfield Street parking lot. Much safer. There are signs directing you from Route 53.
The Pumpkin Smash provides communities with an opportunity to compost their pumpkins rather than send them to the landfills to decompose. Pumpkins are full of nutrients that are good for the soil so why not compost them and return them to back to our earth?
You will be directed to the exact location to stop, pop your trunk, or back hatch, and people will come and remove the pumpkins for you. You do not even have to get out of your car ~ which was a very good thing on this very rainy morning.
