It's definitely not a cheap experience but you'll find that with any hot air balloon ride. We were picked up in Barcelona at the right time and place, and taken out to a hotel/cafe about 45+ min away. We had a quick coffee and met up with the other couple that would be up in the air with us. We got back in the van and drove about 5 minutes to the site. Our balloon was there but the guys were worried about the wind so they did a test and we ended up having to change locations to a second area near a small town about 20 or so minutes away. Then the fun of filling up the balloon begins! It's a very interesting experience. The whole time in the balloon is maybe an hour but I suppose that's all you really need. It's very peaceful and serene. I was kind of hoping that we would see something a little bit more interesting. Once we were done, we had some sandwiches and cava and were taken back into the city. It was a very long morning but overall a very enjoyable experience. Our guides were fun and taught us a lot about ballooning and the fun people they've met/experiences they've had. Very important note - if you have a smaller bladder, there is NOWHERE to go after the cafe.

We actually happened upon it on accident as we were walking around and then we came back our last day. Beautiful Park lots of things to see. The fountain is amazing just gorgeous huge fountain lots of birds there. Great place for pictures right beside the fountain or up the stairs to the fountain. Lots of musicians and street performers around the park. I really am a bird fanatic so I was thrilled to see so many wild parakeets in the park. There are people feeding the parakeets bird seeds and you put some in your hand and they'll land in your hand and eat there. I loved it. There are some homeless people and one of them kind of threw a insane fit while we were there but no one was hurt he kicked over a barrier and was yelling at people. But that can happen anywhere just use caution anywhere you go. There is neat statues and there's also a little lake or pond where they had people renting rowboats we didn't do that but that looked like fun.

Parc de la Devesa was a nice park to stroll through during our visit to Girona…read more The park is home to 2,500 Platanus × hispanica trees which were planted mostly around the year 1850. Unfortunately we visited in early March when the leaves had not yet grown back, so the trees and thus the park looked a bit bare. The park is arrayed mostly in a grid-like fashion without many distinctive features. We did find a peacock coop with 4 peacocks in it which was pretty cool. From pictures, the park looks like a lush forest during the time of year that the trees have leaves on them, so that would be an ideal time to visit.
