Didn't like being out on the road and having the GPS go out, so my wife recommended trying this little shop located within the Meijer in Camby. When we arrived, we hit the dinger bell to let them know we were at the counter. We were greeted and were told they didn't have my type of battery in stock. We were given an estimated time for when it should be available and the price for parts. They have a standard rate per hour for repairs and were given an estimate for that as well. Unfortunately, the battery didn't ship on time and we were delayed. I also didn't notice they are closed on Sundays, so that visit was a "no go", but I simply didn't see the small sign with their hours on the counter. When the replacement battery came in, we were told they suspected it had a defect because it took a long time to charge. It seemed to work okay, but they were going to get another battery to replace the replacement and there would be not additional charge. Finally, I was able to drop it off when we got the notice the new battery was available. Everything seems to be working okay, though I noticed this new battery still takes a long time to charge. It does seem to hold the charge though, so I am not 100% sold that everything is working perfectly. I got the impression that the individual who worked on my phone understood the problem, but wasn't certain why the charging issue had sprung up. If I have a problem that isn't something I can easily adjust to, then I will take it back for one more try. I think they are trying their best to be helpful, but I seriously don't know how anyone can keep up with all the technological changes and upgrades. They are small staffed, so the turn around on repairs may take longer than you would like, but I prefer it to work the first time, not just get it back and then have problems. Review #3800

On Friday evening around 7, my external hard drive crashed. Fortunately, the "Geek Brigade" (soon…read moreto be called IT Indianapolis) had someone on hand until 9 that night. I was able to drop the old drive off and explain what I was hoping could be done. By Monday afternoon (unfortunately, they are closed weekends), I received a call that my data was recovered. Because my old drive was seven years old and had run continuously, it simply wore out and appeared to me that all my data was unretrievable. Fortunately, these guys are Wizards with computers and through some magic, were able to retrieve the data and transfer it to a new drive about the size of a phone. The new drive only runs when the computer itself is running, so it will get plenty of rest. Even though this company can serve businesses, it is great to know that they still are able to fit the home users into their schedule without making us wait without our electronics too long. I will be ordering a new computer to replace the old laptop I currently have, and I will continue to use their antivirus protection which they will set up for me. (They can even do it remotely if that is more convenient.) Great people who don't look at you crazy if you aren't computer savvy. I appreciate that! P.s. The wife and I had purchased a "Litter Robot" a little more than a year ago, when it suddenly stopped working. When I called the company's tech support, I was told that the warranty only covered the box for a year, and that they no longer refurbished or repaired boxes past warranty. The company stated I'd have to purchase a new one, at considerable cost. I refused to spend that much cash again so soon after its purchase, so I started calling around to multiple tech repair companies. About half of the companies I called never bothered to call back, and the other half stated they only worked on phones. Finally I got a response from Ryan of ZCR Technical Solutions, who stated that while he had never worked on a Litter Robot before, he was willing to take a look at it. While he was a little out of our way (Indianapolis to Martinsville), he was willing to travel to any location with a mileage cost. The wife and I chose to pass on having him drive to us, and instead decided to drive to him. I'm more than pleased that we decided to make the drive, as Ryan fixed the issue in a timely manner, and at what I considered to be a VERY reasonable cost. He was friendly, communicative, and kept us up to date on the progress. Aside from Litter Robots, he also works on phones, tablets, laptops, computers, gaming consoles, and more importantly vintage repairs (as long as he can get access to the replacement parts). Money is tight these days, and with the recession, it's only going to get tighter. If you have something you want fixed at a good price, I can't suggest calling him enough. He is funny and gives personal advice as if it were his laptop. They provide free diagnostics. He didn't apply any pressure to purchase anything, so I was able to peruse freely and make an easy decision. He does provide electronics recycling or resale if you're ready to get rid of your old device. He was responsive when I called to make sure they were open on a holiday. The signage within the strip mall (called Zone31) makes it easy to locate this storefront, and parking is plentiful.
