The rear right is set up for comics, a few comic related toys, and graphic novels. There are some boxes of old comics as well, but the collection is rather small. (I've seen larger collections at conventions.) The guy behind the counter was friendly and made sure to let me know to ask if I had any questions or needed assistance. The problem is that the inventory is on the small side compared to most comic shops I've been to and it could do with more wall displays promoting the new story lines that get collectors excited. This is the place where you'll find some used treasures, but also new books and and some rare and collectible books. Whenever I visit a new bookstore, I gravitate to the children's section. This bookstore has lots of children's books, from picture books to graphic novels. I saw some ancient Nancy Drew novels, with original covers. I'm not a Nancy Drew head, but I can appreciate a vintage mystery collection when I see one. One of the best things about Fallen Leaf Books is that they leave (leaf?) you the eff alone. I don't remember if anyone greeted me or talked to me, and frankly, I don't care. All I need in a bookstore is books and cozy nooks and quietude, and that's what you'll find here.

There were a lot of cute little jewelry for women, my friend and I. We visited this store and beaches could not get enough of their necklaces in every of their earrings for kids and nice cardigans and a lot of other selection of products. The customer service was amazing. They explained everything that we needed to know. They also had a locally made hand lotions with awesome different smells. It is still in the family of founding owners Bill and Marielle Jockey as their daughter now owns it. Open year-round, The Totem Post offers authentic Native American jewelry, crafts, moccasins, knives, ethnic gifts, silver, and copper jewelry. The Totem Post folks are without fail friendly and I'm pleased to report that the shop itself is surprisingly wheelchair friendly (not always true in Nashville). A lot of the items at The Totem Post have a sense of spirituality to them and the times I've visited it has felt like a bit of a respite to even enter the establishment. The store has a bit of a fun origin story. The Jockeys were dancers on the SS. Uruguay who visited family in Indianapolis. During the visit, they were taken to Nashville, Indiana. Not long after, the leathercraft establishment went up for sale - The Jockeys moved forward and bought the place and quickly began establishing themselves among Native American and South American communities so they could carry high quality yet affordable items. While Nashville has certainly grown larger than those five shops from 1952, The Totem Post remains a local favorite and a tourist destination. I seldom, if ever, visit Nashville without a stop here.

I love this shop. I know some of you are looking at the name and saying "why is a woman giving this…read moreplace a review?" It's because not everything in the shop is "male only." I think I found more for me than my husband did. The staff there is friendly. While their check-out methods were definitely dated, they were very good at keeping us informed about how they went about charging us to make sure we weren't being over charged. (As a matter of fact, I think they might have undercharged us but I haven't gone over my receipt yet.) I definitely recommend at the very least browsing this shop. Even if they don't have what you're looking for, they at least have something that will make you smile.
