    The children's graphic novel section

Pulp Fiction is always a nice low stress shop to visit. The staff are very friendly (and if you're lucky you get to see their comic book shop mascot dog). The area is always clean and I like how it's organized with kids and family comics near the front and merchandise near the back. I've been to plenty of comic book stores that don't always treat you like you're supposed to be there, but Pulp Fiction is welcoming to novices and hard core lore followers of any background. My favorite local comic store.

The comic bookstore sells both brand new and used books, statures and collectibles. The shacks are well organized with labels for new arrivals and discounts. It has plenty of convenient street parking spots outside.

Another case of bookmarked forever but finally attained! Pulp Fiction is the consummate comic book store that is slowly disappearing, and not to dis A Shop Called Quest, they have droves of back issues in boxes to browse and much much more. I realized that the shop was fairly close to the LA Wine Company and not too far away from The Wine House in the Culver City neck of the woods so voila! I followed the map directions and landed street parking around the corner. The section of town has that agreeable feel to it, coffee shop nearby with guys playing speed chess and lots of mom and pop stores. The front sign is almost a relic in of itself! I should have taken a landscape photo upon entering, it's that expansive inside. I noticed the Black Friday deals up front for graphic novels and comics, and while I didn't see anything that I needed (wanted is another category) it was impressive. I had a few target recent back issues in mind and was delighted to find every issue of Savage Avengers (#1-5) to complete my set to date. The amount of new comics is great and laid out in a way that you can actually browse without overlooking titles because they're stacked in stepped rows eight deep! Another aspect that supports my 5-star review is the neatly alphabetized graphic novel section that resembles a library with goodies. The two employees were also fantastic and extremely friendly and helpful. Thank you! I am looking forward to future visits and highly recommend shopping here for toys, books and everything else related to comics.

This store is located between a Thai restaurant and an APEX Aquarium store. There's parking in the back, but I wasn't quite sure which one belonged to their store, so I parked in the front in the metered spot. $1.00 for an hour, and the meters takes credit card or coins. The store has lots of comic books and Funkos but sadly not the ones I was looking for. The girl behind the counter was super friendly and helpful, but couldn't really point me in the direction I needed for Funkos. I can't find any fault here. If you plan on parking in the back, the driveway seems to be behind the APEX side.

Pulp Fiction is bigger than I thought it would be. I came here this weekend to sell some old comics. Didn't really get too much from them though. Just $4 but I didn't really bring a ton of comics in. It was more of a great opportunity to check out the store and see what they had. There was a young gentleman working at the store when I was here over the weekend. He seemed pretty nice and laid back. The store had more than just comics. They also had hardcover and paperback books. And you can also sell your books here in addition to your comics. They had the old stuff and the new stuff. As well as things that weren't what you'd think when you think of comics like Star Wars, Dr. Who, Adventure Time, Regular Show, even My Little Pony. Also, Pulp Fiction sells toys like Marvel Figures and those cute Funko Pop toys. It's a pretty cool store. Parking: I didn't check to see if there was parking in the back, or if you could park in the neighborhood since we found parking right in front. It's was metered parking but free on Sundays.

Just a corner of the huge store.

Pulp Fiction is so rad! I love visiting the store. So many great deals. Tons of new comics weekly. And they also offer a discounted subscription "pull" service for TRUE BELIEVERS! I love the discount bin, and discounts are deep on New Graphic Novels and TPBs.

    My perfect woman.

We do go to this location more often than other Barnes locations because it is closer but once…read moreagain, we went in last night and Jasmine was visibly horrible to us. We walked in, she glared at us- I tried not to think much of it, but as she was finishing ringing me up I looked up to thank her and she was literally grimacing at me, and this was after she tried to hurriedly ring me up without even asking if I was a rewards member (I am) or anything else. I keep trying to give her the benefit of the doubt because I also work in retail, but girl just seems miserable. Literally I have NO other issues with any other employee there, everyone else has been so kind so I brought my review up to 4 stars from 3. But if you're going to give me a dirty look Jasmine, wait until I turn around. This is a smaller location but I'll continue to visit, I just really hope Jasmine isn't there- it's always uncomfortable when she is.

Honestly so disappointed in the customer service of this location now…read more This is a long one. I used to go to the previous location and customer service was always on point. Sales associates were friendly, helpful, and always down to talk about books. Now... I feel like I'm a bother for just wanting to buy my books and leave. This experience was the one that kinda left me wondering why do I bother with this location... (It's the closest location to me soo I guess there's that) First waiting 5 mins when multiples registers are open and only one other patron making a purchase for an associate to finally walk back to their register to help us. Young lady ended up being super friendly and all was fine - she's why this gets a redemption of 3 stars - Stardew pin gal you're cool. My family and I walk out I see a bookmark I wanted and u turn back in line. I get helped by a different woman - blond curls (really pretty hair, also I know both your names but don want you in trouble just disappointed) - who seemed completely bothered by helping me. Ok whatever we all have our days. She lets me know my membership is expired...something stardew lady missed. I ask damn ok I wasn't informed can I bring back my books return and repurchase and re up my membership. Now she seemed doubly annoyed and bothered. Come back in a few days she says. I let her know: no no we just walked out with the books they're here. She responds I know just come back in two days..... I look back at the line - empty. Umm so you want me to come back?? Yeah and just talk to whoever is here and explain what you want. Confused I walked out and hear her sigh and when I looked back the three sales associates went back to being huddled and chatting. Double checked policy.... Nope not a policy thing returning books.... TO REPURCHASE WITH MY REUPPED SUB is not against policy. Called a different store they said yeah they should've just done it in the moment. Checked stores hours not close to closing so that's not it. There have been other instances of weird stand off behavior that has left me wondering WTF is going on... Look y'all I'm not gonna tell you how to live your lives or where you should be working, just remember both sides of the counter are human and in a world where being a BIPOC is getting more and more dangerous, a friendlier attitude can go a long way.

I have never left a Marshall's crying, especially not on my literal 30th birthday…read more I took the day off of work today for my birthday, and decided to spend the day at Marshall's. I spent three hours meticulously looking for all of the 50% off holiday items. At one point a staff brought a huge cart of holiday candles to restock the Christmas section so I directly took from her cart. At checkout I was told 2/3 of my items were NOT part of the holiday section. I pleaded that there are snowflakes on the lip balm, the palmers lotion said HOLIDAY GIFT SET, and the names of the scents of the candles to which I was told no. A manager and another staff came over to say ok to the lip balm once she saw the snowflake. Then validated her and said she's right these are just red candles it's a no. I one by one picked them up and pleaded "mistletoe noir isn't holiday?" She said ok fine you can have that one. I literally said wow I didn't realize I needed to negotiate and try to convince you for each of these?! As I went and read the names of these candles. She said you don't need to convince me I just didn't read the bottom were really busy. I said then why are saying no before looking?! (Mind you I come here often, there was no one in line, normally line is around the isle and I wait 20min) she stormed away. The way she talked to me was so beyond unacceptable and mean. NO apology for telling me no when not checking. I told the cashier I'm so beyond upset right now this is not how I wanted to feel on my birthday. Moral of the story Barbara didn't let me take many of the candles I am certain were holiday, ultimately I literally got on my car and started sobbing. What a crazy way to spend my day off, and my birthday. Ultimately while Barbara was extremely rude, the ultimate problem is that the items should be in the system as holiday or not instead of letting staff debate with customers. Please change the holiday system for the future, thank you.

Service: All of the Marshal's staff I have ever interacted with in my 8 years of frequenting this Marshals location have been polite and helpful with all reasonable requests for assistance. Selection: Marshals has a great number of standard types of items readily available but it is not a consistent in specific products.
