I want to love this place. I want this place to be as wonderful as the popular Ryantown in Columbia…read moreRoad. But it's not. It just doesn't have the same enjoyable vibe. The papercuts seem like Rob Ryan copies, and the shop is so deathly quiet that I don't enjoy shopping here. If anyone working here had ever said two words, they might just get another star. But it's a small shop, and it's quiet. If the only other person in the shop isn't saying anything, it starts to feel uncomfortable and I want to get out of there as soon as possible. The stuff is pretty enough. I think the smaller items look better than the larger paper cuts, which all look a bit samey samey, but it's unlikely I'll do more than have a two minute nose around before I leave again, empty-handed. The perfect example of how important good customer service is, or indeed how throwing a smile in someone's direction can make them want to stick around.

A colorful tiny shop where you can find lovely people to help make some art! They have a good range…read moreof paint product for oil, watercolor, hand printing, ceramic, acrylic... and the brushes to go with. You can also find a good selection of pencils and drawing materials. They have a large range of paper and you will be able to make it cut to your size if you ask politely! They also do frames for your project, with any type of color, wood, background, size that you want. Or products for sculpture like carving tools and I think I saw a beginners kit for screen printing &/or hand printing. Anyway, it's a good tiny shop, just next to my place with very helpful people inside. What else could I ask for? p.s: you can have a look at all the flyers if you're in need of arty things to see or do in London.

This lovely shop has everything an artist needs, with extensive ranges of paints, paper, brushes,…read moredrawing materials etc. They also house a framing service, or you can buy your own framing materials. The staff are helpful and knowledgeable. For instance I once needed US Letter sized paper. They didn't have it, but were able to cut some very nice paper to size for me. Prices are reasonable. They also act as a centre for the local art community: they have a great notice board for exhibitions, art models, art courses etc. I rather like the bright cheerful pictures they paint on their windows too! Definitely recommended: they even have parking for those coming by car! Their website is http://www.paintworks.biz

I really like the way Inked Art displays artists work. The work is always eye catching and you can…read morenever just walk by, you always have to stop and look. The gallery itself is small and I like that the staff allows you to browse the shop at your leisure and only when you have a question do they come over and answer your questions. I normally stand outside looking for several minutes and then go in and look at each piece. The prices are not outrageous and if you leave empty handed you leave thinking how affordable a piece you liked was and before you make it two blocks, you turn around and go back to buy it before someone else has the good sense to snap it up.

ARCH gallery is under a railway station and is in a railway arch…read more The street it is on is not a street, more like a wide alleyway with a few parked cars and bins, but is not smelly or creepy in anyway. The gallery is amongst other arches that have various business's their. You will see the sign ARCH and then you just slide the plastic doors and go in. It is a small space with white walls. On my right was this big purple plain kinda like a skateboard slope on the wall. I was thinking too myself "Is this it? "where is the art? Well I went to the back and the artist was their. The back was like an office and plus where he stored his other artwork. He also had information table with leaflets about the events their and other art galleries around Deptford. Well I asked the artist where the rest of the work is? He goes what do you mean? (its not my fault, I'am a novice in the art world). Well I quickly asked him "what inspired this work? which he explained. ARCH gallery is host to a lot of solo artist and gives them a chance to exhibit their work. They also have selected shows as well. Would I come here again, not really! Not just to see one piece of work.

So i've been around several art stores looking for cold press board. What can I say, i hate canvas,…read morealways have and always will! The hours of this shop isn't great. But it's deptford, not west London. Which is why it's the last place I gone to find my boards. Needless to say, they were fresh out. but it's nice to have someone behind the register know what the hell i'm talking about. They were fresh out. But i've found something similar which will do for a practice run. So for a shop about 1/3rd of the size of the big inner london shops, they actually store more of what I need then the big shops do. And the person behind the counter is an actual artist. Well... I assume he is, he knew what I was talking about. Next month their getting some strange metallic board you can paint on. I'm dying to see what this is!!! Great place! I will certainly return! PS: prices are better than the larger shops!

Holy Moly.... This…read moreplace is an Aladdin's cave! From the magical courtyard in which it is situated, i felt excited just peeking in. Stopped off here after a glorious trip to Borough Market, to fix my self up with some Japanese wood cutting tools for my new printmaking course, and ended up spending a small fortune. Im a sucker for Japanese crafts...so this place made it a challenge for me to not buy everything in sight! Every inch is crammed with something wonderful. Soo...much...goodness! Im amazed i only left with some japanese paper, japanese vinyl (it's softer than lino to cut into...oh my), etching tools, black ink....and my bargain japanese wood cutting tools. I will find any excuse to return here.... The lady that served me had such an extensive knowledge of printmaking and the products they were selling, it was how customer service SHOULD be. Bravo! I challenge any art lover not to leave here without a bag full of goodies! Now i must stop staring at my purchases, and get on with my work!

Little background story to explain why I needed a stamp made in the first place:…read more I wanted to create an online account with a recruiting website, but they wouldn't recognise our company as legit unless we could provide them with a fax that had been stamped with a company stamp! "Are you serious?" I almost yelled at them, but then reconsidered and just decided to let it go and get a company stamp. This is when I discovered this little niche-store in Bloomsbury. The service was impeccable and also the making of the stamp was a breeze: I simply had to email them the design and I received a confirmation email within a few hours! The stamp was ready only 2 days afterwards....very good experience. (An image of the stamp that I received is uploaded to this business profile.)

I drew out my image exactly the size I wanted the stamp image to be, measured both the drawing and the tag that I wanted the image to fit on, and sent the info and image as a pdf along to the stamp maker via email. He responded right away with a price which I then agreed to, and, in a couple of days, I went in to pick up the stamp. (They offer a delivery service, too.) I was very satisfied with the product, and so was the person receiving the stamp!
