The store has 2 levels so there's a lot to see and buy. I had to limit myself since my purchases would have to fit in my suitcase or carry-on. Little background story to explain why I needed a stamp made in the first place: I wanted to create an online account with a recruiting website, but they wouldn't recognise our company as legit unless we could provide them with a fax that had been stamped with a company stamp! "Are you serious?" I almost yelled at them, but then reconsidered and just decided to let it go and get a company stamp. This is when I discovered this little niche-store in Bloomsbury. The service was impeccable and also the making of the stamp was a breeze: I simply had to email them the design and I received a confirmation email within a few hours! After reading Uli B's review, I went in hoping to also have a stamp made. The requirements were fairly straight forward, and handily printed up on a sheet of paper for folk to take with them. I drew out my image exactly the size I wanted the stamp image to be, measured both the drawing and the tag that I wanted the image to fit on, and sent the info and image as a pdf along to the stamp maker via email. He responded right away with a price which I then agreed to, and, in a couple of days, I went in to pick up the stamp. (They offer a delivery service, too.) I was very satisfied with the product, and so was the person receiving the stamp! read more

This year I've decided to shun all commercial Christmas activity, I don't want to sound like a scrooge, but how come in this country the shops start decking out in red and green straight after Halloween? What ever happened to enjoying Autumn? So, I became all anti-corporation and had the grand plan of making all my own Christmas cards, that was until I realised it will probably take me until next Christmas to finish them all. So when I came across Blade Stamps, I couldn't believe my luck. There are shelves and shelves of stamps and ink for every occasion whilst downstairs there's a gorgeous choice of printed backing paper and ready folded card. I always thought that 'stamping' was for yummy mummies and people with too much time on their hands, but my new Christmas stamps are going to be my best friend this season. And this shop was so puntastic it not only provoked a giggle, it even lured me inside and made me consider buying a £6 stamp of a monkey. Thankfully, I didn't have any cash on me and came to my senses. As mentioned above, there's an amazing range of stamps, inks, paper and all manner of crafty things. My only complaint: given the shop name, there really should be a Philip K Dick/Ridley Scott section: a cute electric sheep perhaps? and what woman wouldn't appreciate a freaky 2-tone image of the Alien queen defending her eggs on a mother's day card? Finding places that sell beautiful scrapbook papers and products in the UK isn't easy. One can only get so much from places like HobbyCrafty with their overpriced, bulk packs. Blade Rubber is GREAT! I'm not a stamper, but they have an amazing selection of rubber stamps and rubber stamp items. Tim Holtz products, etc. The selection of scrapbook papers and products isn't huge, but it *is* great. Quality lines like Basic Grey and a really nicely put together assortment with items grouped by themes, colors, etc. The owner (I think it was!) was super sweet and helpful. She made me want to come back again and again and again to this lovely shop. Definitely a place to pop into if you're at the British Museum and fully worth seeking out on its own! read more

For reasons known to no-one (unless you know? Do you?) there are very few papercraft shops in central London. Sure, you can go to the art shops and get reasonable supplies, and you'll occasionally get lucky in stationers and the such, but for a papercraft addict like me, theses barely scratch the itch. So imagine my delight on stumbling upon Blade Rubber! A whole shop dedicated to papercrafting goodness - I was powerless to resist. I've been back many times since my first visit, and my joy never diminishes. Okay, enough superfluousness, on to the nitty gritty. This shop stocks it all - designer paper pads and 12 x 12 scrapbooking paper. Punches, dies, glues, inks, marker pens, brads, peel offs can all be found here. If these words mean nothing to you, why are you reading a review of a craft shop? And then there are the stamps. All the top brands are stocked - Penny Black, Stampendous, English Stamp Company, Hero, Woodware, and even Blade Rubber's own production stamps. The only reason I'm giving Blade 4 stars is that things can be ever so slightly on the pricey side. Ah well, guess I'll have to save my pennies and go on a spree! read more

Right, hang on. Straight up, this is a shop selling tons of different rubber stamps - many designs, intricate patterns. Ok, Ok. They have called it, 'Blade Rubber'. Blade Rubber. And it's a stamp shop. So I've given this place 5 stars, just for the name. And it's a joy, really digging the the arts crafty vibe of the shop - it calls itself a stationery shop apparently. Not so many pens on sale though. Clearly it's owned by this one women and refrequented by certain regulars. They were abound when I went in. I went downstairs to look around and had a good undisturbed nosey. I was looking for cards which they don't sell, but they do sell things with which you can make your own greeting cards. All reasonably priced - I really wanted to buy something 'cos it was so nice and twee but I knew I'd never use it... Well worth a wander... read more

This is lovely shop with very helpful staff which is great for the beginner. It is located very close to the British Museum so if you are interested you can visit both. The shop is small but they pack loads in. On the ground floor are all the rubber stamps you can want the choice is amazing all sorts or patterns and animals and my favourite paper artsy stamps. There are also ink pads and the such like. Downstairs is more scrapbooking with 1212 paper and stickers. They also do classes if you look on their website they have a list of up coming ones. read more

My wife loved this place. It's located near the British Museum and is easy to find. It has lots of stamping and crafting supplies at reasonable prices. This is a hidden gem in my opinion, as I find it quite hard to locate good scrapbooking shops in central London, and this is primarily a stamping shop yet has a great scrapbooking stock in the basement. The first few times I went there I didn't realise you could go down the stairs to the basement, but you can and you should. Apart from all the great stamps they have (very clearly displayed) they sell all sort of cardmaking and scrapbooking stash brads, eyelets, 12 x 12 papers, embellishments, inks and the list goes on. It's a fairly small shop but for its central location I think it's well worth a visit for the arts and crafts types. read more
