We met with Dr. Keswick for her first appointment and we were so happy with our choice. She was informative, kind, and personable. She was able to answer all of our paranoid-new-parent questions and did so without judgement. We've visited her multiple times since and every time we've been given the same level or respect and understanding. It can be scary having a baby for the first time and having someone guide you through is invaluable. We love Dr. Keswick! Everyone at the office has been great. We've never felt uncomfortable and we've never had to wait very long. I've loved all of the hardworking nurses as well. We've also met with Dr. Mileikowsky and she was so pleasant. She was there with us on the day my daughter had to get her 2-month vaccines and was so understanding of my worry about my daughter being uncomfortable and in pain. Unfortunately that's not the service I received…read more The reason I searched for a gynecologist, was because I had two serious UTIs and had two rounds of antibiotics a month apart. A developed what I thought was a yeast infection, my symptoms were a very sore rash, like a diaper rash on my vulva, and swollen painful lymph nodes in my groin. I took 3 day monistat and while the swelling in my lymph nodes went down, the rash persisted. I had no smell and no discharge. Just the rash. I tried plain yogurt on a tampon. Probiotics. Cut sugar grains and alcohol from my diet. Zinc oxide. Saltwater sitz baths. Nothing worked beyond temporary relief. I started developing unsightly varicose veins on my vulva as well as Angiokeratoma of Fordyce, which are flat black spots of pigmentation on the vulva. Obviously this was very concerning. I also developed "lightening crotch" which is when the pelvic floor randomly spasms and it feels like a sharp stabbing pain in the vagina/anus area. The staff when I scheduled an appointment were very nice and sympathetic. And the receptionist didn't bat an eye when I said I was a trans man. They were also lovely when I showed up for the appointment. However the wait times to see the Dr. were extremely long, I had scheduled the appointment with an hour and 15 minutes to get back to work. I wasn't seen for about 45 minutes past my appointment time, which made me pretty anxious, and worried about getting back to work. The Dr. Seemed to be in a mad rush. The exam was over so fast my head was spinning. He just said something about me looking "good" and prescribed me a single pill dose of antifungal medication as well as a topical steroid cream Clotrimazole and Betamethasone Dipropionate. I completely forgot all my questions I was going to ask about the new bulgy viens, black spots and pelvic floor spasms. As well as my concerns about the swollen lymph nodes because of how fast he was going and how worried I was about being late getting back to work. It's been a couple weeks. I never heard back with the results of the tests. And my rash is as bad as ever. I think the cream is making it even worse. I'm so raw it hurts to sit and I'm not sure what to do. It's been over a month that I've had this. I can't have sex. I'm very upset as anyone would be and feeling very dejected if even the gynecologist can't give me answers. To top it off, he seemed pretty ignorant about trans people and asked me unnecessary questions in my opinion about my transition. I just brushed it off, but like, you're a Doctor. I can't be the first trans patient he's ever had. Let's focus on the reason why I'm in office, not my trans status.

When I asked him what the hell he was talking about he said that he preferred doctors to be not to hot or not to cold. In other words not just out of med school because they don't have experience and not just about to retire because they might be a bit burned out. My doctor at East Greenwich Family Practice, Dr John Slattery, is indeed like fine porridge. He's old enough to have a lot of experience but not old enough to stop caring. Perhaps his finest quality is the ability and desire to listen. He will patiently listen to my stupid complains and then make comments or suggestions. His examinations are complete and professional but with a sense of humor. When he noticed I have quite a few scars from various mishaps he said that I should think of them as memories or souvenirs. Good idea. The light hearted approach helps things go by quicker and easier. It can be a bit difficult to get through to the office because nobody ever seems to answer the phone and for some reason things like prescriptions and faxes to the pharmacy can take longer than necessary. However the actually interact with Dr Slattery has always been excellent.

Dr. Mansourati and Nurse Practitioner Ducharme deliver competent clinical care and demonstrate solid medical expertise. Unfortunately, the administrative operations at this practice fall substantially below acceptable standards, fundamentally compromising the patient experience. In properly managed facilities, administrative personnel facilitate care rather than impede it. Here, routine interactions prove unnecessarily burdensome, and front office demeanor frequently registers as dismissive rather than patient-centered. When individuals are navigating health challenges, administrative friction compounds their burden and represents a failure of essential service. Particularly disheartening is watching capable clinical providers have their efforts consistently undermined by operational deficiencies. Healthcare demands collaboration across all levels. I woke up with pain radiating down my neck, spine, and arms to a point where I still can't move my upper body. I had been in to see Connie Ducharme a few months back for the same issue (less intense at the time). I called Fairlawn primary care this morning and asked for medication (not opiates) to help with the pain while I work on getting x-rays. I get a VM from Rebecca stating that my PA sent the script to a pharmacy I haven't used in years, which I had already updated with Fairlawn at my last visit, but THEY left it in the system. I called back and proceeded to ask if it could be transferred to my local pharmacy because I am in so much pain I can't drive long distances. I can't move my neck to switch lanes or sit up for long periods of time, etc. No empathy provided. Just Rebecca taking the phone and coming down my throat full force. Rebecca took the phone from the receptionist and proceeded to yell at me. "It's not Fairlawn's problem you have multiple pharmacies on file" - my response was "it was because I updated them during my last visit." I also reminded her that my prior medications a few months ago were sent to the correct CVS, why wasn't this one? She did not have any answers to my questions. She proceeded to say to me "every time you call you have an attitude." That is bullying and took me back. Especially because the last time I was in the office, Rebecca told me to drop her name if I wanted my boyfriend to become a patient, even though Fadi wasn't accepting anymore. Why extend that olive branch to a person that's always a problem? Gaslighting as its finest. Ethics complaint will be filed with the state when I am contacted with Rebecca's remaining details. Upholding patient autonomy, beneficence, and justice means respecting a patient's right to self-determination (autonomy), acting in their best interest (beneficence), and ensuring fair, equitable treatment for all (justice). My best interest was not acted in, Rebecca's was. Bullying me and threating to withhold medication is in direct violation with Rhode Island's Healthcare Ethics.
