Coming from a guy this guys is amazing and his staff is top notch. He gos over and above to help you out. Never had a doctor care so much to interact with my child and us parents. He's the best dame doctor around. He shows us charts about our child's growth and where she is. He's recommended us to amazing options for our child. He is hands down one of the best pediatrician around. We was referred to him when I had my daughter bye my sister and we absolutely love this guy. He always interacts with our daughter and talks to us both with respect and his honest opinions. His staff is amazing and always friendly and remember us every time. He takes great care of his patients and makes sure not to miss a beat. He always shows us her growth on the computer and how well she's doing. It's great to have someone who seems to actually care and take the time to explain everything and even includ what he's done with his children. His staff always called a week before the schedule app to remind us and make sure we can still attend. He's also giving us free formulas to try when our daughter was having trouble and has done the same with soaps due to her sensitive skin. Dr. Puleo is the best hands down! When I interviewed him as a potential Pediatrician for my first child I knew instantly I didn't want to interview anyone else. Yes the wait time can be long but it's worth it because when he does see you everything is explained in detail and he takes his time to make sure that, we, as parents understand everything he has discussed. There are times when I bring my kids in and before I ask anything he has already answered my questions. He knows what he is talking about and you never ever feel judged by him, because let's face it, we all make parenting mistakes or do things that we may not realize can affect our children. He gives you options, advice, and the tools you need. He makes my kids feel at ease which makes us as parents feel at ease. The patient portal is also a great touch. On top of all of that, he's pretty funny too and even knows some of our spanish terms which I like because it shows how diverse his patients are and that he does not discriminate.The majority of the staff is pretty good too. I, ONCE, had an issue with the staff and brought it to his attention and he immediately researched and corrected the issue and I have never had a problem since. So sorry to have to post this review. This pediatrician was referred to our family by a friend who is a mom of a patient of Dr. Puleo's. Since she said he himself has ADHD and he was very up to date on treatment plans, testing sites, how best for kids and parents to deal with schools, etc. We called the office, made an appt-took son out of school at 1:15pm to make it to 2pm appt. Waited in waiting room for 85 minutes before being put into a tiny exam room where we waited another 20 min for Dr to enter. He never even looked at my son, spoke to him or asked any questions of him. He proceeded to type notes into his laptop almost the entire time. He offered testing at Psych Wellness in Warwick- told us to call for an apt with them (which we subsequently did). Said he would write letter so we could take to an upcoming (3 weeks away) RTI mtg with school. He would include the diagnosis of ADHD and request classroom accommodations, etc. The letter never came. We made several calls to the office requesting the letter-even offered to pick it up personally from the office so they would not have to mail it. The office workers just continued to say "we will let him know you called" and "we will remind him of the letter." The RTI mtg came and went with no letter, no phone call, no follow up from Dr. Puleo. During the appt he spoke the majority of time on medications (for a 7 year old). He originally said he was not an advocate of meds for young children and preferred to put classroom accommodations in place and some other things long before meds were introduced- due to many side effects and having to try so many of them to determine the best one for a child. We agreed with this philosophy of only turning to meds as a last resort. It was extremely disappointing and rude for the Dr. not to write the letter as discussed and promised (likely a form letter in his computer that he adjusts to fit the patient.) Not looking for a dissertation or novel just something to present to the school administration as he said this is what he does for most of the ADHD children he sees. He was the one who suggested and offered it. We don't know if his own ADHD prevented him from completing this task or if he just changed his mind. Being left in the dark with no follow through from him or his office was rude, unprofessional and inappropriate. In our opinion, he is overwhelmed by his patient roster and needs physician and office help to keep him on track. Several of the other parents in the waiting room asked us how long we waited before we were called in....this seems to be a common issue for this Dr.'s office. His office workers seemed relieved when I requested picking up all of our son's medical records from his previous pediatrician who recently retired. We are now forced to find another pediatrician for our son and just wasted a lot of time and energy with Dr. Puleo. Obtaining medical files and records to bring to another office is not an easy task but one we must do because of this experience with Dr. Puleo. read more
