This review is specific to the pool area…read more Honestly, this pool is probably the best public pool in the area. It was recently renovated, and it is clean and modern and expansive. There are multiple swimming areas available for use. There is a lap lane, a diving well, a lazy river, an aqua jogging area, two water slides, a few areas for general swimming activities, a handful of water bikes, and a kiddie pool. There are also lots of lifeguards sitting in raised chairs, as well as actively patrolling the edge of the pool deck. Though there is plenty of seating around the pool deck, the lounge chairs aren't particularly comfortable or stable. The chairs have those rubber slats across the length of the chair that make it uncomfortable to sit on without a towel underneath you. However, you are allowed to bring in your own chairs if you'd prefer that. The kiddie pool is a really great space for parents to watch their children. It is completely fenced in with a zero-depth end and a small slide with a fountain. The gate clicks closed behind you when you enter, so kids can't just push right through and go to the main pool. There are umbrellas and lounge chairs around the kiddie pool as well. I also counted five family restrooms, which is a good amount considering the large capacity of the pool. The locker rooms themselves are very spacious and clean. The individual showers have curtains, which provides lots of privacy. There is also a swimsuit dryer inside the locker room. There is a snack shack around the side of the building and there are water fountains (one with a water bottle filler) inside near the locker rooms. Something unique about Buchner Pool is the activities they offer members in the mornings. From 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., the current channel (where the lazy river is) can be used for water walking. Additionally, lap swimming is available between 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. One thing to be aware of is the lack of parking. There is no parking lot attached to the park, so you have to park on the street. There are four handicap parking spaces near the building. On particularly hot days, there will be a line to get into the pool. Sometimes the employees divide the line into a queue for people with a membership and a queue for people paying in cash for a daily pass, but don't count on it.

First-Timer Mom Review of the TOSA Pool at Hoyt Park - Wauwatosa, WI…read more As a local Wauwatosa mom visiting the TOSA Pool for the first time with my 11-year-old, I wanted to share what other families might want to know before heading there. Overall - we had a great time and will definitely be back! What We Loved: Family-Friendly Vibe: Right away, I noticed how welcoming and clean the pool area was. The staff was friendly, and there were plenty of lifeguards, which made me feel at ease. It's a community-oriented space with lots of families, so you don't feel out of place whether you're a single parent, big group, or tagging along with other families. Fun Features for Active Kids: The water slide, diving boards, and the rock climbing wall were huge hits with my 11-year-old! These features kept the energy high and gave kids a great mix of fun and challenge. The rock wall was especially unique -- it's not something you see at every public pool, and it really made the visit memorable. Variety for All Ages: The zero-depth entry pool is great for younger kids or those who want to just wade in and splash. There's plenty of room to swim, float, or just cool off while keeping an eye on the action. Clean Changing Facilities: Bathrooms and changing areas were surprisingly clean for a public pool -- definitely a plus. They even have family changing rooms. Shaded Seating + Picnic Options: There are lounge chairs and shaded areas, but they fill up fast on sunny days. We brought snacks and drinks, and it was nice to take a break without leaving the pool grounds. Tips for First Timers: Arrive Early - It can get busy on hot summer afternoons, especially on weekends. We came right when it opened and got a great spot. Bring Water Shoes - The pool deck can get hot, and it's helpful for little feet. Pack Light but Smart - You can bring your own snacks, towels, sunscreen, and a book or something to relax with. No glass or alcohol allowed, which is standard. Check the Schedule - The pool sometimes closes early for weather or special events, so it's good to look online or call ahead. Pricing: Very reasonable for a day pass, and they offer family memberships too if you plan to come often. Residents get a slight discount, which is nice. --- Overall: 5/5 for Family Fun! From thrilling dives and climbs to relaxing in the water, the water slide, diving boards, and rock wall made this pool stand out. Great for kids, clean and safe, and perfect for a sunny day of memories. Whether you're dipping toes in or climbing to the top, TOSA Pool is a solid choice for Wauwatosa families.

WOW! What a cool…read morepark area. Plenty of parking. Free. There is a nice easy paved trail, and if you are lucky enough, you may come across a deer eating some leaves. There is a pond or stream, there are flowers, birds, and all kinds of sights and nature to enjoy. If that is not your thing there are baseball fields, tennis / pickle ball courts, basketball courts, etc. Definitely a great place for some peace and quiet / solitude, or a date, or a family gathering. I can't believe how lucky we were to come across the deer and of course I did not have my camera with me because the rain was coming, so I only got some cell phone pics and video. The area around the park is nice too, so green and woodsy. If you are in the area, and want a nice park to try out then you should give it a chance.

Oh my goodness the nostalgia is REAL at Elm Grove Park. As you can probably gather, it's a massive green space, with lots to enjoy! Great for families as they playground is very quality. There are paths/trails that wind around the pond and wooded areas. You'll find plenty of tennis courts (I still come to watch my dad play all the time), as well as baseball diamonds, a frisbee golf course, volleyball nets, and some hills in back that make great for sledding in the winter. The swimming pool is massive (open June-August), and offers both lessons and fun theme-nights. Truly something for everyone at this park! Not to mention, it is extremely well-kept. I love coming back here and can't wait to bring my son once it warms up outside.
