Built into The Nook is Reader's Cafe, a cute little cafe with second-floor tables and chairs to drink your coffee and read a book. (Subsequently, there's also a single bathroom in here too.) The Nook primarily focuses on the trending book niches right now. i.e. there's ton of space for mystery thrillers, romantasies, and romance books. There's a bit of space for other topics, but the bulk of the store focuses on that. Along with bookshelves, the rest of the store is dedicated to gifts that readers would enjoy. From notebooks to stickers to bookmarks and shirts and games and all sorts of stuff, there's all sorts of little gifts that were tempting me. Really, their gift selection is A+! All the books are pretty immaculate, and anywhere I saw a series, it was either the first book only OR the full series was available for purchase. I didn't see any of that nightmare where the only thing a store has for sale is book 2. I REALLY love their "staff recommendations". These are hand-written little signs taped onto shelves (about one sign per shelf?) with a book title and a short description and why the staff member loves and recommends the book. I saw a few books that piqued my interest beyond the cover design because of it. Prices are pricey. I feel bad about it. I really want to support a local bookstore, but at $12 to $30 a book (the latter being hardcover), it's really hard. I did pick up a few little gift items, though, that were really cute. If you show your receipt over at the Reader's Cafe, you get 10% off your coffee purchase (though I didn't get the chance to coffee that day!)

Everything you get for the competitive price is incredible to me! Caught up in the feverish throes of blossoming new love, I placed an online order for a standard Valentine's themed arrangement at 3am on a Saturday morning in March, and Doug had it delivered by 10am. Not only was the "Standard" arrangement better than some "Deluxe" arrangements I've seen, but Doug even called me 30mins before his arrival, confirmed the delivery instructions, and then sent me a picture of where he left it. What an absolute legend. When I build my Castle by the Sea, you can sojourn to the Eastern most foundational layer and find the first foundational brick. Attend your eyes; then, you will see that the name carved upon this brick is "Doug". See ya later, Space Cowboy...
