We had been hiking in the area and decided to look for dinner in the Hartford area. We checked Yelp and saw this highly rated Mexican place. So we decided to celebrate Cinco de Mayo a day early. The interior is a bit sparse but clean and bright. The service was super friendly and efficient. The salsa came in two flavors mild and hot. The hot was very hot. The chips were just OK. We both ordered enchiladas one rojo and one verde. You can select your filling from a long list of choices (longer than most places). I got one chorizo, one al pastor, and one cheese. All were very good as were the beans. Their prices were reasonable. No alcohol served here but that was OK with me since we had an hour or so drive home. Recommended! read more

We walked in and they were practicing covid safety with spaced out tables and everyone was wearing a mask which I appreciated. It's definitely a more quiet ambience and not super decorative- very simple with decent prices for Mexican food. The chips and salsa was good, just typical of any other place. I ordered the horchata (they don't have any cocktails bc no liquor) and thought it was delicious. Not too sweet and also refreshing! My mom got the tacos and I got a chicken burrito. Both were just okay. A bit dry and just simple tasting. Not flavorful. Overall, I thought it was decent, I'd recommend others to give it a try over other Mexican restaurants in the area, but it just wasn't it for me. I have been to just about every Mexican restaurant in 40 miles including in Milwaukee and the food at Puebla's is truly the best. The only mexican restaurant that could have rivaled it was Cempazuchi which closed several years ago. Service is great. Family atmosphere. The only improvement would be serving alcohol which they don't do currently. And hopefully if they do in the future, the quality will match the food. Good food but you are going to pay dearly for it. Check your receipt with take out. Sometimes they add the tip without telling you.

Great family run business. Service is always friendly and efficient. My husband and daughter like to order the chicken chimichangas, which are quite large. My son absolutely loves their homemade tamales. On our most recent visit, I had the birria tacos which were outstanding. Ask for the spicy salsa, you won't regret it, and try one of the authentic (non Americanized) dishes, you won't be sorry! Also, I should add, my kids always order the horchata, and say it is their favorite place to get horchata. For my first visit I selected the Puebla's combo to try a variety of items: steak taco, shredded beef tostada and pork tamale. Everything was wonderful, but the star of my plate was the tostada! It was flavorful and juicy, but the shell stayed crisp. Will be back! read more

BEST CHICKEN QUESADILLAS I'VE EVER HAD!!!! Will go again and will absolutely keep going. My son picked this place for his 18th birthday dinner. The food was good, but not amazing. If you get fajitas and want cheese, expect to pay $1.00 extra. The salsa and guacamole were above average! Came here for lunch as it was close by, but this may be the last time we come here. It wasn't very busy so service was pretty quick. A co-worker ordered the guacamole and it was pretty tasty from my perspective but the other two people I was with said it was just ok. My steak burrito was ok but the steak seemed like the burnt pieces from a grill. The beans and rice were pretty typical. What I will warn you on is the nickle and dime stuff they add to the bill (none of this was disclosed to us as extra charges). I asked for extra spicy, and got charged for extra jalapenos. I misread the menu and thought I was ordering the "dinner" but apparently did not. So when I asked for beans and rice...extra charge (I take the responsibility for this one). A co-worker ordered a three taco meal and asked for 2 of one and 1 of another. All the same prices... but got charged a dollar for splitting the meats. For the amount it cost me ($20 including tip) for lunch, totally not worth it. I can get better at half the price elsewhere. read more

I'm an out of towner who was planning a lunch nearby, and selected Pueblas's Kitchen using the Yelp recommendations . Party order catered and delivered. Working with Teresa was a pleasure, the order was received, correctly and on time, and the food was fantastic. Food presentation and containers were secure and easy. Did a combo of pork, steak and chicken tacos, all perfect and flavorful. While I myself, wasn't at the party, I got to sample leftovers and the Pork was my favorite, then the steak. They don't serve alcohol, which is due to the city councils limit on liquor licenses. A margarita or beer would be nice. The decor is ok. The food...amazing. Been here several times and has been consistently good. Enchiladas, burritos, chimichangas are amazing. Didn't expect to find this good of a Mexican restaurant so close to home. Hands down the best Mexican restaurant in Hartford. We've been going to Puebla's for years, and I have never had a bad meal yet. We go for dinner there a couple times a month, at least. I love the fajitas and the enchiladas. The service is always excellent, and the waitresses have gotten to know us. It is to the point where they just bring our drinks when we get there without having to ask. They are all such nice people. The offer a Friday lunch buffet, which I tried for the first time this week. It was excellent. It had a nice variety of items including, fajitas, tacos, chimichangas, and a few other items. They don't offer alcohol like most Mexican restaurants, but the amazing food more than makes up for it. read more
