But the quality makes it worth it. As much food as possible is locally sourced - and cooked to perfection. It tasted great! I might be paying more than I was used to but I am certain that they were paying more for their ingredients than my local cafe. The service was quick and friendly too. Top marks to the young chap waiting on the tables for a job well done and done with a smile. This was my first visit to the Seven Bees, but going by the first review of this cafe appearing on Yelp (in April 2010) it appears that the owner has improved things by an incredible amount.

I know it has a good reputation for a fry-up, but since I also heard they made 'proper' American pancakes really well, and have so far been very disappointed by every other establishment's claim at authentic pancakes I knew they would be the order of the day. And they were DELICIOUS. I had despaired of ever finding anywhere (outside of London, anyway) that made authentically fluffy, large buttermilk American-style pancakes but Seven Bees delivered on their menu promise and gave me gorgeous, perfect pancakes. Covered in real maple syrup and with generous helping of well cooked bacon, I was in heaven. :) Thank you, Seven Bees. I am now a devotee of your little cafe, and can't wait to come back again.

We went in around 12:30 on a Sunday afternoon...prime Brunch/Post Night Out Hangover time. The outside seating was 75% full and the inside was 10% full...we opted for inside. The server came over and informed us that our food would take 25-30 minutes as the kitchen was overloaded. I have concerns here. We were sitting inside with one other table...not at all near capacity and the kitchen can't handle the volume of orders? When our White Americanos arrived they were 90% milk and much too weak so now we have a hot milk drink and no food for 25 minutes. I ordered the Full English Breakfast (See photo) and my man the "Big Boy Sandwich/Bacon, Sausage, Egg on a baguette". Once the food arrived and we ordered a new Americano instructing the kitchen how to make it...the meal was lovely. All in all, the breakfast was nice but as the 2 star rating says "Meh! I've experienced better"

There's a small patio and a cluster of tables outside as well as a number of cosy tables, chairs and curved plaster benches inside. Aesthetically, it looks like a cafe you might stumble across in Portugal or Greece but the feel is much more Greenwich Village with everything from The Ramones to Billy Idol on the stereo! The real reason Inside Out is a Must Visit however, is the divine and delicious food. Brunch includes full veggie and english breakfasts, eggs benedict, kedgeree, pancakes and fruit and eggs with soldiers. I ordered the latter yesterday and was delighted when they arrived in a joint eggcup with matching chicken covers!! The lunch menu is just as extensive with a wide range of freshly made bagels, panninis, dips and chips, salads and daily specials. The prices are incredibly reasonable - think £3-£8 for mains - and the drinks menu includes refreshing juices, smoothies, teas and coffees. Go by all means but come Saturday brunch, I want the table with the most sun!

The owner Elina hails from the Oseta region of south Russia and has brought some of the local cooking knowledge with her to breezy Brighton, and you can tell. The food is exquisite, cooked to perfection and the menu is packed with inventive recipes. Specials change regularly and there is plenty of choice on the regular menu. I recommend the Oseta's House, a delightful dish of scrambled egg with halloumi, tomato, and spinach... it really is to die for! Coffee is good (to this writer's taste buds anyway, but I'm no coffee aficionado) and there are plenty of other choices on the drinks menu. Honestly, if you haven't been here you need to get down immediately. Right now. Drop what you're doing this instant. You won't regret it.

I also had a brilliant fresh lemon and ginger tea and the staff were brilliant - really chatty and friendly, but not invasive. It was the right balance between informal and professional and I really appreciated it. I even left with a slice of Guinness cake (which was to die for). I really love this little spot, and certainly will be back to try the meat and cheese dishes.

I personally prefer this place to Nia Cafe over the road for breakfast - it's not as swish but for value it can't be beaten.

I decided to not stay for coffee as I wanted to try some other cafés but overall the place was a really good choice for lunch. Nice decor with a few tables to have a seat outside in the sun, pleasant staff, free wifi and a good spot for people-watching (my favourite sport!!).

After standing around trying to decide what I would like to order, it struck me! I - need - a - BANANA - SPLIT!!! That was it. That was my answer. I placed my order with the friendly Eastern European lady behind the counter only to have her colleague remind her that they were out of bananas! Fail! When they finally produced some babanas from a local store she set about her masterpiece of ice cream... and delicious it was! It was even aethetically pleasing. My childhood memories of the seaside were gladly restored. Well done Macari's!
