Went to this Publix grocery store to buy dinner, roses, and items needed for our vacation stay in downtown Wilmington. They were low in item options in the deli , flowers, and sushi area. Yet we managed to find items we needed there. So so experience in one of my favorite grocery stores. read more

Since Wilmington is anything but lacking in grocery stores, I find myself going to one of the handful within 5-10 minutes of me. However, this Publix is SO worth the extra few minutes to drive here. Their pharmacy is usually one of the cheapest in town (plus GoodRX offers great coupons with them) and are quick to fill. The cleanliness and quality of the store is unmatched. Even their shopping carts are well aligned, making a trip so pleasant. I ordered a platter for an event from their bakery online ahead of time. The hardest part was picking out what kind of platter I wanted - there were so many delicious options. It was ready exactly at my pickup time! While I was over there, I grabbed lunch. They use Boar's Head which is such a step above. I also love their vegan options. I had the vegan turkey, bacon, & Swiss sub and it was the perfect light sandwich. I forget how amazing their deli is. The hot bars were well stocked and attended, so there were plenty of other quick lunch options. I could go on and on about every department (sushi!), but you gotta check it out yourself! I never thought about writing a review for a grocery store product, but this cake has gotten more reviews, rave reviews, then almost anything else I've ever served people. The first one I bought was for an impromptu to bridal shower that was held at a local eatery but they didn't have cakes. This one looks so pretty so I thought I'd give it a try. Rave reviews! Then I served it for a friend's birthday, just three of us, but again all three of us raved. The icing is superior and the cake is perfect. It's presentation is awesome. It's price was fine, I don't know what it is now that we've had a recession or whatever we've had. But if you need to bring something this holiday season, or Valentine's Day or somebody's birthday, this is the cake you should go with. Enjoy! read more

This is my favorite grocery store in town! They're always so nice and helpful here, really go out of their way to make sure your experience is better than any other grocer. Throughout the pandemic, I've always felt safest shopping here because of ho clean everything is kept and the attention to detail that their staff does when going through and wiping off commonly touched surfaces. Also, Publix has great already prepared meals that you can just stick in the oven at home which is nice when you have a busy lifestyle. It seems that the biggest thing Publix has going for it is not in the awkward name, but you will have to google it to find out. Ok I'll tell you. The shares. They are employee owned. Why should you give a jolly rat's butt as long as you get your groceries cheaply? Because the concept means that person checking out your groceries, and bagging your baguettes has a vested interest in making the store experience a delightful one so you will come back. If you come back, they benefit directly in that success. Win-Win #1 Also they are supposed to have groceries cheaper than the competitors. While that might be a tempting enough reason to check them out.... my reason was this. Store was clean, bright and well stocked with.....get this...REAL vegetables. Imagine that. I did not think too much of the bakery. All of the cookies and cakes seemed to sport more strange unpronounceable ingredients than you might care to ingest. I think Lowes has them beat there.... (and I am not too much of a fan of Lowes baked goods except a couple of their brands of cookies.) What I found intriguing was the foreign foods aisle...a wealth of authentic items from curry sauces to English biscuits. It was like a miniature version of the best of other countries in one side of the aisle. What a great way to get some authentic items if you are homesick. Or to experiment with other cuisines and impress your loved ones with some new culinary experiences. The other thing that was a hidden pleasure is not immediately obvious. I think PUblix has managed to take the best of say, a Whole Foods and the best of .... Food Lion and make room for both high end and lower cost items in one store. So you can penny pinch and splurge on that gourmet hummous found at WF impunity. That is a win-win #2 in my book. read more

I came here over the weekend for the first time. They mailed me a $10 coupon, and I've heard positive things so I drove the extra half a mile to Public (I usually shop at Lowes). From the moment I walked in, I felt happy. The staff was super friendly! I was in the store for quite a while and at least 4 employees (all in different sections of the store) asked if I was finding everything okay. Perhaps I looked lost, as I had never been in the store before and probably spent way to long looking at things. Huge bonus points for having Better N Butter (I've looked everywhere for this!), fresh salmon salads to-go, peeled apples, really great meat selections, and all the name brand items my family demands (cinnamon toast crunch, gold fish, baby bell cheese, etc.). read more

I absolutely love "our neighborhood grocery store", Publix. The customer service is first class. Staff always greet with a smile, hello and I am always asked if assistance is needed looking for an item. The store is exceptionally clean, bright and always stocked. Produce is the best! Very fresh and staff are always in the fruits and vegetables area stocking and rotating. Another favorite about Publix is $5 Sushi on Wednesdays. Their sushi is delicious. We have convenience of living within 1-2 miles to 5 different grocery stores. Can no longer shop there because of their debit/credit card terminals does not allow you to do a credit but sends it in as a debit, which my bank charges $3 for each debit charge. Went into my first Publix on 716 Bragg Dr. in Wilmington NC. The Store Mgr. is Matt Cassada. I was blown away!!!! That store is the cleanest most organized,friendly grocery Store I have ever been in!!! Some good prices some not, like any store. The deli counter has the worst customer service and the managers are rude. Several times there have been extremely disappointing.

So this is the first Publix in Wilmington, a bit of a let down. I was expecting more of a flagship store, like the Harris Teeter on Oleander. Publix seems to be on par with Lowe's and Food Lion. Food prices were average, beer a little high. You don't need a rewards card to get their weekly deals, so there's that. Parking lot is still being paved, so its super crowded. read more

Yesterday Dec 24 2016 we went to Publix to buy a turkey. We had plans to stop by to purchase only a turkey and then go walmart to finish our shopping. We went to the meat department asking to this guy where was the turkeys. He quickly came out and took us to the turkey, asked us questions about size etc. He was very outgoing and friendly. He offered us a shop cart, since we didnt have one, we just went there to buy a turkey. He literally ran to get us a shopping cart, wished us a Merry Christmas and told us, any shop needs we had, he would be glad to help us to find it. well, this guy Allan made our afternoon, we not only got our turkey but our entire shop list. We left so happy that Publix is a great place to buy our groceries. The store is clean, organized, has sweet people like Allan. The prices are few cents higher, but hey, when you have a great service like that, price doesn't matter. Way to go Publix you got us. Everyone is talking about the new Publix's so my spouse and I decided to check it out Saturday morning and do our grocery shopping for the week. It was super busy as to be expected on opening weekend. I loved how well lit and organized the store was was with ample room between the aisles. I was also pleasantly surprised with how well stocked the shelves were and how friendly and accommodating the staff was throughout the store. The total was about $10 more than my normal shopping budget for the week so overall I was very satisfied with Publixs until I got home and actually ate the food. Saturday night I prepared the pork roast I purchased. I spilt the meat and two different portions to use for different recipes. While cutting the meat I noticed the color was a bit off, more brown than pink but it didn't smell and I just bought it earlier that day so I didn't think much of it however once I started to serve dinner for family and friends I realized there was something wrong with the product. My sister said the consistency was like cat food. Everyone ate the meal, I assume simply because they didn't want to hurt my feelings. I had few bites before feeding the rest to my dogs. Anyway about 6 hours later the stomach cramping started and it was clear that I had a bad case of food poisoning. I spent most of the night rejecting the "pork" from both ends...it wasn't pretty. I called my family and friends to see if anyone else got sick and sure enough 2 out of 5 people and both my dogs were sick from the product. I called Publix's Sunday to notify them of the bad meat and the Manager tried to argue with me about how long food poisoning takes to show which was pointless because I didn't want my money back just thought they should be made aware of the issue. The lack of professionalism in handling such a serious matter has completely turned me away from Publix. I will never shop there again. read more

I have experienced quick service here during the day. However I just stopped through tonight to pick up ONE item for my kids school party tomorrow. There was only one register open and the lady ahead of me had a cart overflowing with groceries. I counted no less than 4 additional people in the green cashiers coats (2 were talking to each other at customer service counter), (1 walked right by our register, looked & kept walking), (1 was pushing a cart around the store) and yet the thought of ringing me up at the customer service counter or opening another register did not cross anyone's mind. The transaction ahead of me was brutally slow - I ended up walking out and paying twice as much at the Walgreens who had three registers open and more guests in their business (that alone is a statement). My time is valuable- if you are not willing to provide good customer service then I will go elsewhere; I will be avoiding Publix for awhile. read more

First of all, let me just say that some of these reviews are incorrect. The brand new Publix store at the Ogden Marketplace WAS NOT OPEN in 2016. It has been opened since November 29, 2017. So I really don't know how you can review a store that wasn't open. Now, with that out of the way, let me just say that Publix is a welcome addition to the neighborhood. The store is bright, outstanding selection of items...and as was mentioned in one of the reviews, if they don't have it, they will order it for you. Customer service is the best I have ever experienced, anywhere and their Produce and Meat departments are beyond compare. Their prices may be a bit higher but I am a firm believer in...you get what you pay for and if you're looking for the best for you and your family, then this is the place you should be shopping.
