September 2026 Update…read more I am just updating my review with a new picture. I HAD to break out my phone and snap this shot as I was picking a few vegetables and was greeted with the most amazing and fresh and well displayed assortment of AWESOME FRESH PRODUCE!!! You would think it from a photo shoot or movie set? NOPE just a normal day at a Detwiler's Market.

Train your cashiers how to actually do their job. The newbies here (Liza) don't know how to check…read moreout people properly. Specifically, bagging. At checkout, Liza walked around her station, behind me, to select items that were heavy to charge first. Then, she went to the bag turnstyle and took bags over to bag there - FROM THE CONVEYER BELT. WTH? I asked why and she said I didn't put the heavy stuff up front which is how it should be bagged (so it's first in the cart and lighter stuff on top.) This was so inconvenient and slow that I told her, I'll figure it out and to not worry about it. When she started bagging my meats separately, I said, "don't worry about doing that, I don't need a lot of extra bags." So she began putting A TON of stuff in each bag so that there was literally no handles left to pick up the bags. This is just ONE damn thing I'm pissed off about at Walmart today. I'll write another review later.

The service was very pleasant. There a a couple of small tables where you can wait for your order or dine in. Nothing fancy but comfortable. I hate to give a 5 star rating because I know the word spreads quickly and it will get busy, but if you're a fan of Latin American food. This is a must for your list to try.

Got there early this morning Sunday to miss any crowds go up to the deli after picking up some…read morevegetables and there's a man standing there I say hey this is you waiting on something he said yeah the ham it's 299 a pound so I saw the ham sitting out on the counter by the slicer and the deli lady was slicing Cajun turkey and she sliced maybe a half a pound she turns on puts it on the scale looks at both of us it says and who's got the turkey and I'm like well not me I just walked up she never saw me before and she looks at the guy he's I ordered it to him that's sitting on the counter there you open the brand new one and then he went sliced turkey she was like oh so she took the turkey put it on the counter and slice the ham then she asked me what I wanted I decided not to go with the ham because the 299 it said water and binder added on the package I'm like I don't want that anyhow I got the German bologna I was there for 20 minutes to get a pound of German bologna and then I wanted the Cajun the deets the brand Cajun turkey a pound of that cuz it was $6.99 but she kept trying to give me the store brand at 11.99 since it's right here she finally got it and she goes to slice it I mean 10 minutes later I'm still waiting for it and another lady said something to her and she got really upset so I'm just a stupid ass here the other lady yelled at her about swearing I mean it was a a ridiculous show of incompetence that I ever seen in my life there's four women there the one deli slicer doesn't know what the heck she's doing the other one came up to help and then said well she's got to finish with you and I was like please don't leave me with her I mean then she says to me have you ever just felt like giving up as she's handing me in my package I said no I didn't want to converse with her at all I mean it was a horse of pony show Believe me. And I'm never going to have that happen again cuz I'm never going to that deli counter again is the worst operation I've ever seen in my life, no wonder everyone goes to Publix that pays the extra cuz they're extremely professional neat sanitary clean and everything that wasn't Winn-Dixie today. Next I made sure to take pictures of everything that was buy one get one or on sale cuz every time I go there I get to the car I get home and I get overcharge something or I didn't get a buy one get one same old story well guess what I get up there I buy three packages of romaine lettuce because they're 299 and I took a picture of it of the whole pile of it and the 299 it rang up 5:49 so before I walked away from the registry I said that's wrong that's 299 so she calls the manager over I am assuming I showed her the picture 299 and the whole bin is full of what I got so she goes walking over comes back goes oh that's organic I'm like well the science is 299 I didn't take the wrong stuff they put the wrong stuff there so instead of giving it to me she removed it from from my payment I said fine I go out to the car I look and now I realize that the onions which was buy one get one at 3:49 was buy one get one and it was $4.99 so I go back in to get my dollar she says okay you know I don't know why so I've been back the season and I've been to Publix twice and Winn-Dixie once I've always argued with everybody about going to Winn-Dixie cuz I'm an old Winn-Dixie guy from 1991 when Winn-Dixie was awesome loved them but I'll tell you what I saw today I'm never going back I'll pay the premium at Publix for every reason I've already stated competence number one and I hate when they wear the same gloves to do other chores and then cut my deli meat and cheese with the same gloves it's unsanitary they're touching proves and dirty rags and pulling chicken I don't know change your gloves! Never again never again Winn-Dixie they're done.

Everyone of their employees I have encountered over the years has been super helpful. Make sure you order them ahead of time so they haven't been sitting around. Rush on over and try some!!! They are HUGH!!!!

This new ALDI on the Venice Bypass is my closest one--and I'm officially a fan…read more It's a little smaller than some ALDIs, but it's spotless, organized, and the staff is incredibly helpful. They actually know where everything is! Now, I know... some of you are thinking, "I'm not shopping at a store where I have to bag my own groceries." Give it a minute, people. ALDI does things differently--and once you figure it out, you'll understand why. The carts stay where they belong, the store isn't overflowing with 47 brands of the same thing, and the prices are consistently lower than the other markets around here. And here's the part that surprised me: ALDI isn't just their own brands. They carry plenty of familiar brands I already love, along with some really good specialty finds. So, Venice grocery-store snobs... Put down your shopping bag and give ALDI a chance. Your wallet may thank you.
