10/1/2020- OPEN! I'm standing at the deli now. Store is like a regular publix, with the questionable floor colors

No place to return empty plastic drink bottles and/ or cans!! This is shameful. Publix should be concerned for our environment.

**BEAUTIFUL GROCERY STORE**…read more Had no idea this was a grocery store. Similar to Vons in California Obviously I don't have the membership so the awesome cashier just said, "no problem, I'll use mine" Everything looks impecable. Everyone was very helpful Thank you!

Got there early this morning Sunday to miss any crowds go up to the deli after picking up some…read morevegetables and there's a man standing there I say hey this is you waiting on something he said yeah the ham it's 299 a pound so I saw the ham sitting out on the counter by the slicer and the deli lady was slicing Cajun turkey and she sliced maybe a half a pound she turns on puts it on the scale looks at both of us it says and who's got the turkey and I'm like well not me I just walked up she never saw me before and she looks at the guy he's I ordered it to him that's sitting on the counter there you open the brand new one and then he went sliced turkey she was like oh so she took the turkey put it on the counter and slice the ham then she asked me what I wanted I decided not to go with the ham because the 299 it said water and binder added on the package I'm like I don't want that anyhow I got the German bologna I was there for 20 minutes to get a pound of German bologna and then I wanted the Cajun the deets the brand Cajun turkey a pound of that cuz it was $6.99 but she kept trying to give me the store brand at 11.99 since it's right here she finally got it and she goes to slice it I mean 10 minutes later I'm still waiting for it and another lady said something to her and she got really upset so I'm just a stupid ass here the other lady yelled at her about swearing I mean it was a a ridiculous show of incompetence that I ever seen in my life there's four women there the one deli slicer doesn't know what the heck she's doing the other one came up to help and then said well she's got to finish with you and I was like please don't leave me with her I mean then she says to me have you ever just felt like giving up as she's handing me in my package I said no I didn't want to converse with her at all I mean it was a horse of pony show Believe me. And I'm never going to have that happen again cuz I'm never going to that deli counter again is the worst operation I've ever seen in my life, no wonder everyone goes to Publix that pays the extra cuz they're extremely professional neat sanitary clean and everything that wasn't Winn-Dixie today. Next I made sure to take pictures of everything that was buy one get one or on sale cuz every time I go there I get to the car I get home and I get overcharge something or I didn't get a buy one get one same old story well guess what I get up there I buy three packages of romaine lettuce because they're 299 and I took a picture of it of the whole pile of it and the 299 it rang up 5:49 so before I walked away from the registry I said that's wrong that's 299 so she calls the manager over I am assuming I showed her the picture 299 and the whole bin is full of what I got so she goes walking over comes back goes oh that's organic I'm like well the science is 299 I didn't take the wrong stuff they put the wrong stuff there so instead of giving it to me she removed it from from my payment I said fine I go out to the car I look and now I realize that the onions which was buy one get one at 3:49 was buy one get one and it was $4.99 so I go back in to get my dollar she says okay you know I don't know why so I've been back the season and I've been to Publix twice and Winn-Dixie once I've always argued with everybody about going to Winn-Dixie cuz I'm an old Winn-Dixie guy from 1991 when Winn-Dixie was awesome loved them but I'll tell you what I saw today I'm never going back I'll pay the premium at Publix for every reason I've already stated competence number one and I hate when they wear the same gloves to do other chores and then cut my deli meat and cheese with the same gloves it's unsanitary they're touching proves and dirty rags and pulling chicken I don't know change your gloves! Never again never again Winn-Dixie they're done.

If you…read morearen't familiar with Aldi it's a German hyper-efficent shopping experience where you need: - A quarter to get a shoppong cart, you get it back when you return it - You bag your own groceries - It's a curated grocery experience so they have most of what you need but no assortment of brands or sizes. Aldi is in the Trader.Joe's family. There are some tastt chocolates and specialty items. Prices are low low low. Seasonal product specialties are offered. Even though.the prices are low theu habe some gourmet foods and fun specialty products. Detweilers in Venice is great too especially for certain produce and local fare, though.the store is tifht and busy. Aldi is a great option too and saves you money. But it's not for everyone. Industrial and German effiency can come off as cold and impersonal. Comforst tourself with inexpensive German chocolate. A few other products to try are the German fish tins curry pineapple and more, coomies, and seasonal treats.

This location was very well stocked and still had a LOT of the aisle of shame products that sell out quickly back home. Parking was easy and carts were all returned. We didn't make any purchases because we were on the way to the beach, but I would recommend this location if you're local or on vacation nearby.

In Season, Saturday, March 21, 2026 - Two for take out lunch for the beach…read more My wife has been bragging about these folks for months so we thought to stop in and see how they are for a few sandwiches?! VERY GOOD is the short answer! My wife got the Polo Toscano - grilled chicken on an awesome sourdough bread that I believe comes in from New Jersey? She decided to take a little bite in their roomy parking lot!!!! AND the result was we did not make it over KMI/Hatchett Creek Bridge heading to Nokomis Beach..... I got the "stump"/end of the bread with a little bit of chicken / cheese etc. So will have to go by her assessment. 9/10 I got the Lukie - portabella, asparagus, zucchini, roasted red pepper cheese (provolone and they let me try a piece before they made the sandwich!!! WOW that is no Dietz & Watson or Publix brand cheese - right out of the Italian market in NY or Philly!!) They put balsamic and oil on and the veggies were sauté etc. And there in was the only issue. Flavor and ALL ingredients were great....... but the sourdough bread was a soggy sponge by the time I cracked it open on the beach about 30 minutes later. The vinegar, the liquids from the sauté, the oils and etc. I WILL be going back for this exact thing next time, BUT will get it "dry" or dressing on the side. I picked it apart and threw well over 1/2 the roll in the trash. 5/10 Really good first visit for me and EASY PEASY fix so check back on my update...... OR go there yourself and find out how great they are! I spoke to a few friends and the overwhelming feedback was very good food and selection....but prices are a bit high for a deli/takeout.
