This was my first trip to Publix ever as we don't have them in Indiana. :-( I wish they would build there. The store is so nice and I loved the subs for which many people know them for. I love how they don't skimp on the toppings and the bread is baked fresh. They offer wraps, sub tubs or sandwiches. They have so much to offer I didn't get to see as much as I would've liked. The bakery looked to be well stocked with delicious pastries, cakes, donuts and more. I thought it was so cute how they had little green bags at the check out counter for kids in line to help take their groceries home. I can see why so many people love this grocery store chain. They get three stars cuz they're overpriced. They did not have any eggplant, which was a disappointment. But they had almond flour and coconut flour, but it was expensive. There was quite a wait at the deli. I had to ask someone to get some cold cuts for me. He was wasting time and you could tell he did not want to work. They had a nice selection of Atkins products. read more

I seriously love this Publix and the people that work there. The customer service is extraordinary and the employees are there to WORK. The lines for the cold cuts move fast, cashiers are efficient and kind. I live just off of University and to the Publix down the street from my home is torture to shop at. I think it's important to show appreciation when it's due and the Publix off of Fruitville &Honore certainly deserves some respect. read more

You know, I used to shop here all of the time, but I don't anymore for a few reasons. First of all, the parking lot that surrounds this store is awful. Now I know that Publix probably doesn't have much direct control over this situation, but it is still part of the reason I try to avoid shopping here. Furthermore, the produce section in this store is terrible. I mean REALLY terrible. The produce section is far too small and many of the things you need are found only within their ridiculously expensive "organic"/green section. In other words, you end up paying an insane amount of money for things such as broccoli, celery, lettuce, etc. Finally, there is one clerk who works the check out lane, let's call him "Jimothy" who couldn't be more rude or apathetic towards his job. While I typically try to avoid his lane, some days it is almost impossible as he is the only one without any kind of a line, which may indicate that others who shop in the store also consider encounters with him to be less than satisfactory. This guy consistently refuses to greet me or thank me as I pass through his lane. The only thing he bothers to tell me is the amount I owe him. Shop at the Winn Dixie across the street. The parking is better, the produce is far superior, and "Jimothy" doesn't work there. UPDATE: So I just broke my embargo of this store as I only had to run in and grab some milk. How bad could it be, right? I saw "Jimothy" and avoided him and instead was checked out by (let's call her) "Judy" who, like Jimothy, didn't say a damn word as I went through her line. NOTHING! No "Hello," "How are you?" "Have a nice day" or (God forbid) "Thank you!" These people just check you out and take your money without any common courtesy. Dear store manager: what is it with your employees? Are you rude and anti-social as well? Is this REALLY how you want to run your store? This time, I won't be back. And oh yeah, the parking lot? Snowbirds, Publix is not the only game in town. I like Publix for its cleanliness, variety of products, usually fast checkout lines, dependable quality of meat, BUT the products are SERIOUSLY OVERPRICED compared to all other grocers in the County except for niche grocers such as health food stores. I can buy the same brands at many stores for anywhere from $.25 to a whopping $1.50 less per item or pound. It is disgraceful for the company to overcharge by such a high margin. Not only groceries, but prescription drugs are much higher at Publix. If saving significantly on groceries is important to you, head for any one of the many other grocers who will be happy to see you. read more

Awful produce every single time. Bakery bread is listed as fresh everyday but that is obviously not true. And parking lot is divided with cement barricades so either walk in traffic with a dozen senile snowbirds driving around or lift your 300lb cart over a cement block. Choose wisely :) read more

I will never forget the abomination of an employee "Jona". Just had a very dissatisfied experience. My mother and I are Shipt shoppers and I was there with my mother doing two orders , someone working there named "Jona" a rude male employee left the girl who was checking out the order when he was in the middle of bagging my order to do it by herself !!!! Then one of the orders was not authorized so I had to contact Shipt, and when I wasn't looking Jona moved the whole cart behind where they keep lottery tickets and cigarettes without even telling me. I had to ask for the things back from the man who was working there, then Jona runs behind the counter and starts helping that man to make himself look busy but actually mixed up the orders so we had to switch things back. We tried to correct him but he snapped back "I'm working on it- Mmkay!" In a rude tone. In the whole process Jona gave us dirty looks and said "Bless your heart!" and "You have a blessed day!" Accompanied by an angry smile. We pointed it out eventually when he was being so sassy we couldn't take it anymore and said he needed to stop and he denied being rude in the first place. I have shopped at that Publix for over 15 years and I have three people in my family who have worked for the company and one of the things I always respected is the value towards customer service. Never in a decade and a half have I seen such rude behavior! We reported it to the manager and they didn't do anything about it or apologize. I plan on writing another review about how another time my mother was robbed in their parking lot and they lied and said they had no cameras and didn't even call the police! This is just your typical publix. The staff is great and really nice, they helped me find something when I needed help. The facility is really clean and the shelves are neat, unlike most publix, at least in my area. read more

This is the absolute worse publix I have ever been to in 20 years. Jim barely could make my sandwich, Tammy or tonya or whatever by the fried chicken answered very rude, felt like she was genuinely annoyed with my questions. Gave me very nasty; unkind looks. Hospitality is not one of the things they take seriously here. Most of the employees are completely oblivious to any requests that you may have, very negative posture & greeting. Very gloomy and upsetting ambiance to be my put in I recommend going to Winnie Dixie over this publix any day of the year. This publix needs to get under new management or new staff because this is upsetting. 5 more minutes out of my way to get to winne Dixie but atleast I feel greeted & appreciated there. read more
