Store is a disaster ever time I'm inside -AOS is always a disaster - super hard to browse AOS--- I hate the new layout !!! Also I love the prices but the produce needs to be used SOON after purchase. The Aldi location in North Port was clean, well organized, and easy to find. I stopped in on Sunday morning not long after they opened. Best time to shop as the store wasn't too busy. Use the second door to enter, not the first, as it is arranged differently than most stores I've visited. Most stores have a main door entrance, then you go to the right to enter. This location has two doors to the outside. The first door is the exit and the second is the entrance. I purchased produce, cheese and rotisserie pulled chicken I use for my salads. The seasonal aisle got me today lol. I purchased a few fall plastic stems (fake foilage) and fall dishtowels. There were many other items I liked, but I refrained from buying more. I was pleasantly surprised to see self check out offered. But the one cashier line was short so I opted for that line instead. Plus I had a punkin pillow that required a price check. It was $10, so I passsed. Check out was fast and I was on my way after bagging my items. I would recommend this location. read more

There are a lot of old negative reviews, some are valid but others, not so much. Here's the scoop! I shop here weekly but for specific items, I do not consider this a grocery store as they do not carry enough items to fulfill my needs. But some items are worth the trip each week. Name brand items will not be cheaper than Walmart or a grocery store. Produce: Selection is good but you must sort through sometimes. Meat: Can't speak about steaks, never bought them. Their premade burgers, good. Poultry is a great price, chicken breasts are HUGE! I make my own dog food, so I buy ground turkey and chicken frequently, much cheaper than other stores. Pork: Very good prices Lamb: They offer lamb chops frequently, in the past 2 years I have had 2 purchases where they were bad. Expiration date was fine, they may have left them out of fridge too long while stocking. Otherwise, they are very good. They also offer lamb roasts, very good. Seafood: It says fresh, never frozen, prices for salmon are good. NOTE: It may say Atlantic salmon but it is farm raised, read the small print. Flavor is good though. Frozen: A lot of great frozen foods to choose from, not bad prices. Lunch meat: They offer pre packed prices are great, very small selection that rarely changes. Bread: I buy my bread here weekly, $1.30 verses $3.38 at Walmart. Just as good, never any issues. Store is clean, I know a lot of old reviews state it's filthy, I don't see that ever. They have one register for cash, that has a cashier, then they have 5 self service registers, takes card only. People complain about needing a quarter to get a shopping cart. Why? I think it's a great idea, they can save labor costs by not needing to go out and gather the carts! Helps keep food costs down! Return the cart and get your quarter back! Each week they seem to offer some specialty sale items, for the ones I have tried, they are good. I can't say much pertaining to general grocery items, cereal, crackers, etc, as I have not tried any of it. Many friends have and say it's good. They do offer fresh ready to cook pizzas, my family loves them! We have tried them all. Prices range from $4 to $6 for 12 inch to 18 inch pizza. Can't beat that! Overall, it's a good shopping experience, associates are friendly and helpful when needed. You may not be able to do all your shopping needs here but anything that helps you save money is worth the trip. read more

Everything is so nice here! The produce, the bread selection, the snack selection, the refrigerator section, the frozen foods, and best of all-the household aisle, where each week is a rotating variety of stuff! Be aware that these items can! And will! Sell out! And plan accordingly!! Get them now-don't hesitate and plan to return later(guess how I know!!) The store is very clean! Even the restrooms!! I've been shopping in Aldi since 1982. No fresh veggies or meat at that time. Now they have organic, never any, never frozen, meats. A great selection of fresh veggies, which lasts a whole lot longer than Publix or Walmart. Their Angus rib eyes are the best. Salmon is fresh and great too. Prices are far lower than the other grocery stores and quantity and quality are far more superior. However, with all that said, I have an issue with the toilet paper, Kleenex and paper towel products. I have also been buying these for over 40 years. Throughout those years, these products improved. Lately though they have taken a major step backwards. If they get any cheaper in quality, I'm going to buy these products elsewhere. I'm so disappointed Aldi. Was very disappointed with a checkout girl's attitude yesterday at the Salford Aldi in North Port. She was being rude, so I asked who the manager was and she said she didn't know her name. I asked if she was there and she told me no, and that was why she didn't know her name. This was done with a "I could care less" attitude. This store hasn't been the same since the manager, Joe, transferred over to the new store on Toledo Blade in North Port. Now he's been transferred out of that one too and things are not the same there either. He took good care of his customers, and now it seems no one cares. Aldi in Nokomis Florida has a good selection and fruit is fresh. North Port Florida location needs a larger selection of fruits and needs to carry cooking oil. Aldi has self check out nowadays and has cut staff. Looks like one cashier is doing all the cashiering. Call center customer service are courteous but would appreciate a manager at the store available to communicate with. read more

We tried this store on Sat 2/1/2020 Brought a few things to check out and while waiting to pay we saw ROACHES on the conveyor belt... Moving fast and lively. If you see ROACHES in the middle of a busy store in day time you know there had to be a lot more in areas out back. We walked out will not be able to shop here again as it could risk bringing them hone with us OMG yuck!!! read more

Besides the fact that I love Aldi, today I was so excited about the election I left my Visa card in the slot and did not discover until later in the day. I went back to the store and they immediately assisted me. My mistake caused my card to be charged with the next customers grocery items. This made returning my card a bit complicated, but they got it done. I would love to include the names of the people who helped me but they were so humble I never found out. Some one told me this store was like Trader Joe's. Lol lol to funny. First of all it was dirty and second all the prices were not much different than most grocery stores. In fact I saw several things that were higher than Walmart. I just don't see it maybe people like there brand of foods. But for me I will travel to Trader Joe's in Sarasota for my special items and Publix for my everyday shopping. And to pay for a shopping cart lol lol is really pushing it. read more

I shop here first and only go elsewhere if Aldis doesn't carry what I need. Has organic milk, good fresh produce, great prices on canned goods and nice flowers. No, it doesn't have a huge selection or everything I would like but the quality is good and prices excellent. Some of the merchandise is variable so I have learned to buy it when it is available (for example, holiday spices, canned pumpkin). I am a picky shopper and by selectively shopping at Aldis and occasionally a conventional supermarket, I save a lot of money. Still hit Trader Joe's and Costco for nuts, cheese and wine. read more

Aldi's offers organic grocery options at a great price! There selection of grocery items differs from the name brand often, but there healthier alternatives come in with nearly the same quality at a reduced price point. That being said, this store is not entirely conventional. To offset the cost reduction, this Grocery operates with less staff and has a few quirks: bring a quarter to rent a cart and upon returning it you will get that quarter back. Also, they do not provide plastic bags but rather sell them (for an extremely cheap price) or reusable bags at the register. Aldi Food Market is a great option for those looking for healthier, environmentally friendly options at about the same price point as its massive competitors. This specific location is clean every time I visit (roughly once every two weeks) and has good, friendly staff. I work nearby and often find myself stopping in on my lunch break to find a healthy lunch for a good price. The produce here is exceptional! Best price per lb for bananas that I've found in town, although they sometimes seem to go bad quicker.. (great for same/next day smoothies! Probably also means less pesticides!) Although the prices are unbeatable. This is not a discount quality. Great produce and meats. The store is ran very efficiently which saves you money. Sure you have to bag your own groceries but that's a lot easier than putting them up when you get home. The store brands are very good better than most store brand you get in more expensive stores. They don't have the variety of larger stores but they have what you need. If you want great food without spending a fortune this is your place. read more

Sister who is a local in Punta Gorda wanted to check out Aldi since I mentioned I was a regular Aldi shopper in Ohio, where we live. She thought the cart requiring a quarter was a clever way to coral the shopping carts. Not sure she saw a large enough savings to make the trip though. This store is very disorganized. Items of same kind are placed in different spots all over which makes it hard to find. It is very common that advertised specials are not available or are in the back room. Store is cluttered, isles too tight, prices are not always displayed. All of it makes it hard to shop. Managers are not very helpful and/or carying. read more

I always shop Aldi's and always give them a 5 star rating. The last two weeks at the North Port store, we have driven there from Venice specifically to buy Bridge Road Chardonnay, only to find the shelves completely empty. I can understand once, but twice in less than 2 weeks? When asking the clerk both times and on different occasions, they seemed very disinterested at all. I have noticed the people you are hiring lately are not cordial and friendly like we have become accustomed to at this location and our location in Michigan. I am hoping I can up my rating back to a 5 star rating once again. Please address my concerns. read more

I am never happy leaving this store. It's not clean, everything is all jumbled up, and there is no consistency. The worst part is the produce is always terrible. Don't waist your time and money. They are selling weird off brands at prices you can buy normal stuff for at regular grocers, and you don't have to pay for carts or bags at any other grocery store. read more

Have been a loyal Aldi shopper for many years. Happy to have one in North Port since we moved to Venice. Meats are always very good. Small stores keep prices down, helps me shop faster, and kepps my spending down. However, this particular store has overcharged me on multiple occasions recently, by as much as $4. Have also bought some produce that looked good in the store, but went bad within a day or two. Opened a greek yogurt today, purchased yesterday, expires 7/31 and it has mold. This store is not the high quality Aldi I am used to. read more

Since I know this chain from Germany I was so excited to go there. I was looking forward to buying all the great German stuff especially the Chocolate Müsli! Boy, was I disappointed, 90% was some unknown US brand, only some chocolate and baked Christmas goods were actually from Germany. Cost Plus carries more!! It's hard for me to understand why they don't sell the same. The skirt steak that I purchased had so much fat and veins on one side it was inedible . I marinated it and grilled it but could hardly slice it or chew it. Didn't even give it to the dog for fear of choking. read more
