The grocery store is just that a grocery store. Lots of cashiers and they have a self checkout section. However, they seem to want to reinvent themselves into a prepared food take out / grocery store destination. But they don't have anyone working the prepared food areas? There was a line of people wanting chicken tenders, wings, potato wedges, poke bowls, rice bowls, etc... and not a single employee waiting on them the entire time I was there. Social distancing and face masks are a must. Publix is the only grocery store I shop at in the South. I can't to pick up some items, and end up grocery shopping while waiting on something at edible arrangements, next door. I don't shop at Publix often as I usually can find what I need at Kroger, Aldi, or Walmart for cheaper. However, I always enjoy shopping at Publix when I get the chance as I feel the stores are always well-stocked, cleaner, and even the customers seem friendlier and less aggressive. It's always a guilty pleasure for me, so I was thankful when I got a gift card from my boss recently to use here. I decided to try this location as I always pass by it but never shopped there yet. The loss of a star for this review mainly comes from the congested area it's in. If you're coming from Lawrenceville Highway (on the Walmart/Five Guys side) trying to turn left onto Hugh Howell at the light in front of Chipotle, it can get pretty hectic and you'll be waiting there for awhile. Luckily I followed someone else's good judgment and cut through the parking lot behind Chick-Fil-A to shave off some time and get around the traffic. You can then get directly back onto Hugh Howell and turn immediately into the Publix parking lot. Getting out of the Publix lot can also be a challenge depending on where you park, as the line to the street builds up pretty quickly and you could get boxed in if you need to reverse. In any case, aside from the minor inconveniences of getting in and out of the lot and street, I enjoyed another pleasant shopping experience with this chain. They had really nice mellow music playing that kind of draws you in and makes you want to stay awhile (and spend more lol). The store was not too busy and aisles had plenty of space, despite what the parking lot looked like. I'd say most of the business was at the deli, which I still can't speak on, as I've never eaten from there yet. I've heard they have really good sandwiches though, and they are always busy, so they're doing something right. This location also has a nice lounge area for dine-in, although it looked like it might've been closed still due to COVID. I found everything I needed and a few a treats just for the heck of it too. The cashier and bagger had a good sense of humor and were friendly. Overall, I saved $30 at the register with the gift card plus a special $5 off with membership (not to mention the sales I took advantage of). I would probably not frequent this location just due to the driving inconveniences. The one in Norcross has a little bit better access to the store. Although, I'd still definitely come back. There were a lot of good looking cookies and sweets in the bakery for decent prices, so I'd probably be back for that. read more

It is now 41 minutes past the pickup time for my order and I am now in line hoping they will make me order. I have a cart full of groceries and am really hoping nothing spoils before I get home. The whole reason I ordered online was to make my exit quicker once I finished shopping. They have one person making sandwiches behind the counter. Management is nowhere around. Horrible customer service. The older women take their sweet time assisting you. Breaking down boxes and taking out trash to avoid customers is insane. I literally wanted 3 chicken wings before I started my shift. I stood there for ten minutes and watched the hot food associate do everything but assist me. I notified the store manager he mentioned it to her she said ok. He walked alway she continued to work on everything else. Thats so annoying if you hate customers why work there. Then my sandwich that was ordered a hour before still wasn't started no way it would be ready in one minute. I'm so sick of going to nice stores in nice areas all for the employees to be difficult to deal with. Then there's a million other employees doing nothing but chores. If all these people are by the food what's so hard about stopping for one second changing gloves then helping the customer. Store terribly ran. I gave three stars because it's still a beautiful store. The did have everything in stock and the parking lot is clean but I'm still upset over the service. read more

I've never had any issues with any Publix before. They are all superior in the grocery store chains to me. I love their deli section. They always have delicious fresh fruits. This particular Publix has a good vegan section with Follow Your Heart products. They are my most favorite non dairy brand. I like their International section also. However, the East Indian section was missing here but it's okay, I love the Mediterranean/Caribbean section. I was happy to see fried chicken at 9 am and got a veggie sub. This was a very quick grocery trip. Was out for lunch with the family nearby and we needed some bananas for the kiddo. Of course, just like whenever I go grocery shopping, we ended up buying a few more things. lol. The store was a different layout than my usual store but we were able to find what we needed. Publix just about wrecked our day, y'all. I'm very much pregnant and very much hungry and very much tired of everyone's $#!@ before they even open their mouths these days. We picked Publix as a catering option for a baby shower cause they're delicious, and they're usually like the Chickfila of grocery stores.. you know, having themselves together with friendly employees, genuine smiles, customer service.. The deli department in this store is more like McDonald's. Friend placed an online order to be picked up at 12 for the baby shower. Show up at 1215 to a pack of 8 behind the counter with better things to do than figure out what happened to the order, as it was clearly not fulfilled. "I'm cutting meat!" and "I'm picking my nails!" and after waiting some time they prepare the wrong thing. It takes just short of an hour for them to prepare a tray of chicken bites for a baby shower because apparently nobody checks online orders. No apologies. Preggo here could have died, y'all. First of all the online ordering mechanism needs to have the capacity to handle a sub sale. Secondly the customer service when I called ordered some sandwiches was horrible. I called to order some sandwiches in advance when I went to pick up my sandwiches 2 were missing and never made. I called a second third and fourth time finally My order was taken then I was placed on hold and transferred to customer service where I expressed the problem to customer service nothing was done about it and I was transferred to someone else. Who then took my order and proceeded to tell me my order wouldn't be ready for another hour. This is unlike Publix to have such terrible customer service I am highly disappointed. I've been shopping at this Publix for the past 10 years or so. Tucker is blessed to have Walmart, Kroger, Ingles and Publix all around 1 corner. Ingles always seems empty, and a few years ago, Walmart added their grocery section. While Kroger and walmart are a little cheaper, I really enjoy going back to this Publix where people recognize you, give you great service, and take pride in their store. it's always clean, and it's nice to chat with the staff here. And a free kids cookie every visit helps as well! read more

I LOVE my Publix! The people here are so nice. The store is super clean and even though they messed me up with their recent reshuffle, I love that its easy to navigate. The meat is fresh, and the bread? No other local supermarket can compare to the quality of Publix bread. I've heard people tell me that they shop at the nearby Kroger because they save more money there. So, not wanting to be a fool- I went back to that mess a few weeks ago. I have a few items that I purchase regularly so the prices on these items make a great indicator as to the value I'm getting. The result? They were the same prices at Kroger- and in a few cases, I pay a little less at Publix. The Kroger was such a dirty mess that, frankly, I would pay a few bucks more just to shop at my Publix since it's such a nicer experience, but now I know that I'm getting the best value as well. read more

We called eachother about details and was on top of it. But the reason for the 3 stars is because at the time of pick up . I suppose it seems strange to write a review about a grocery store chain on Yelp, but I do love Publix. (QuikTrip too, but that's another review.) The stores are nearly universally cleaner and staff more friendly and courteous than at competing stores. It does seem like you can pay a little more for certain items - and for some things that's OK and for others it isn't. One of the main reasons I go to Publix is for their deli and bakery. The foodies here on Yelp will obviously prefer a "real" deli (as would I, all things equal) but the sandwiches, bread and sweets here really are quite good. The Italian sub is a classic and not to be missed. The Buffalo Chicken sub is even better, though. I actually think (and I've heard others agree) that Publix actually has some of the better fried chicken in Atlanta. What more then could you ask for than their buffalo chicken tenders on a sub? I get this all the time and it is literally one of my favorite, easy-to-get sandwiches in the area. Plus, a large is big enough to easily make two meals out of. I'm not sure if they still do this, but on weekends after about 5:00 or so, they'd cut the price of a bag of fried chicken in half (to about $6). This was an absolute steal and definitely worth it. As far as their bakery goes, I haven't tried all that much but what I have was very good. The Cuban bread and Red Velvet Cream Cheese cake were outstanding, but the Praline Pecan Muffins, ohh my, delicious! Delicious and about 1,000 calories each. I've lived in the area for 5 years now and will only go once a year if I absolutely must. The staff all look miserable. No one smiles, says hello, etc. Several staff and managers walk right by and I wonder if I'm just possibly invisible. For the prices they charge, Kroger right around the corner, Sprouts up the road I really dislike this location. The cashiers being the worst. Only complaint about this store is waiting too long at the deli counter for a sandwich. I was heading to Stone Mountain for a concert on Friday night. At 6:30 pm I arrived at the Deli counter for a sandwich. I was second in line and waited 16 minutes before being served. The sandwich maker was having a casual "where are your from" conversation with the customer at the counter (while making four subs) and the line length was increasing. It all seemed to move in slow motion. This wasn't the first time I had to wait an unreasonable amount of time for a sandwich. read more

I love Publix!!! Lol I always spend too much money in here. I blame it on the BOGOs bit such a great deal that I buy stuff I don't need. "Do I need this? No but I will eventually" No other grocery can come close to their deals. The staff in the bakery have always been really nice to me. Their desserts are Great! I normally prefer "real bakeries" over grocery store bakeries because of how picky I am. I can buy a cake from here and bring to work or a party to share. The prices here can be higher than other grocery stores but this location always has what I am looking for. Great store and great people. read more

I love the Publix BOGO and I often will go here just to see what they have. I agree with the other poster in regards to the deli. I love their food but everyone seems to be in slow motion. Most of the staff seem very friendly at this store location and this place is the cleanest store to grocery shop at in the city of Tucker. The have one check out lady who is the SLOWEST cashier I have ever crossed paths with. I go here often and will continue to do so. read more

Food is terrible. I usually order beforehand so that I can just pick it up on my lunch break. However, that's never the case. My food is never ready when I arrive and honestly, it's not as tasteful either. I was so heated I ordered online, arrive and had to wait atleast 20 minutes. And the food was nasty. I hate to crash on a Publix. I love Publix and all it has to offer, but damn this one is just awfully slow in their service. I just recently started a job close by and with nothing but shit junk food around I've been here a few days for lunch. And every day, it's a solid 25 minutes minimum to get a sandwich and pay. The deli area seems well staffed but no one really wants to help you, they all wander around like they're lost. When you get someone, they don't seem to be able to find the meats or cheeses without stopping a minute and going in the back. When you finally get to the register there's rarely more than two open and the fast lane, 10 items of less, is full of people with three dozen items plus. They really need a staff overhaul here. I'll keep them in mind since nothing else around is any good, but damn if I hate having to waste that much time for nothing. read more

THE WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!! This is my second time coming to this location and being told they can't make fresh food... It is 6:22 and the deli does not close until 9pm... I was told they can't make fresh food, then I was told it would take an hour to drop some fresh wings... Lazy ass management, lazy workers who do not value customer service!! I will never ever step foot in this location again!!! The manager would not even come to customer service to talk to me... I never gave much thought to reviewing a grocery store but since this one has become a favorite lunch spot of mine I figured why not. I work in the Tucker area and unless you want the usual fast food places there really isn't much in the way of good places for lunch. There are a small handful of places that even while good can get old after eating every single day. This has me frequenting this store quite a bit. The store is clean and pretty well organized. I like the fact that this store seems to have a much larger selection of international foods than some of the other grocery stores I have been to. The have an awesome section with Indian foods; some ready to eat and some need further preparation but either way I happen to like Indian food quite a bit and appreciate the fact that they have this selection. The Deli is where I probably make most of my purchases. There is always good variety whether you want a soup, sandwich, salads ( I am getting hooked on their chick pea salad), as well as things like bbq ribs, potato salad, baked beans, and of course all of the wings and other fried and rotisserie chicken. The staff is very friendly and is more than happy to accommodate special requests like tossing the plain chicken fingers in a wing sauce or something. Publix is usually pretty good in general but this one is one of the better stores in my opinion. I wish i lived closer to it so I could shop them for more than I do. If you work in the same area and need a change of pace on your lunch hour there is no shortage of variety here even if you just stick with the deli. Plus, you will usually come out with better quality food than the usual fast food crap and it is about the same price or cheaper in most cases. I love this store! read more
