This is a really nice Publix in The Villages area. It was completely refurbished about 18 months ago (opened 12 years ago) and is very modern and clean. The aisles are much wider than we are used (large footprint) to in Orlando so it offers an elevated experience and is easier to navigate. When entering, we immediately noticed there was a lot of great hospitality vocals from their associates such as 'I'll be with with you in just one moment,' and 'thank you.' This is not over-the-top-hospitality; but, the fundamentals (that are absent and accepted in other businesses) and something that we recognized when entering this Publix store. He took the time to speak with me about carrying a grocery item, told me that they had just started stocking that item and even went to check that the item was on the store shelf. I have lived in The Villages, FL for 10 years & did virtually all of our grocery shopping at Publix in Colony Plaza. Today, I have made the decision to totally stop purchasing their rotisserie chicken. Slowly, it become more and greasy. Flavor is missing. They lost something!!! read more

We always shopped at Wegmans, until we moved to Florida. The first thing on which I judge a grocery store is cleanliness; Publix receives an A+ from me, no matter which Publix store I have visited. Once again Publix saves the day! Ordered super bowl chicken strips from PDQ ( directly across parking lot) on Super Bowl Sunday. Went to pick up at designated time but my name wasn't on their list. Nor we're they willing to help. Offered same Amy at full price!!! As my guests were all waiting at my house to start the party I looked up saw Publix problem solved!!! I got as many strips and for less money and didn't have to take home and heat up! Your strips were amazing, Hot and crispy, your clerk was the friendliest guy. Helpful. Checkout quick and easy. Ick! How do people like these big chain stores. That is beyond me?! The thing that upsets me the most...it is a huge new store - why in the world would you not offer a salad bar or a fresh food area? Instead, it is aisle upon aisle of boxed, processed foods. Good thing there are so many doctors and hospitals and treatment centers all around to account for the unhealthiness being perpetuated by stores like this. I wanted a salad and I wanted flowers. No salad for me and, the flowers were really sad loooking. I'm gonna have to have flowers shipped to me. The employees were nice - it is not their fault the store owners or planners don't know what good, fresh food is. read more

Iwas just in and Kim helped me in the Deli. I told her if a mistake that happened the last time I was there. Received roast beef instead of corned beef. The package said corned beef but when I got it home it wasn't! I did not intend for her to do anything but pass the info back so that newer employees might get more acclimated to the different meats etc. Anyway, after making several more purchases from the deli, Kim gave me the corned beef n/c/ with a sticker that said You've got great taste - that must alert the cashier. to not charge. I have shopped at your Publix for 10 years, rarely mistakes happen, but when they do, no questions asked, I am always taken care of. This is rare in this day and age. The "grocery manager" Paul is extreme rude and unhelpful. I asked a question about a promo board that had been up prior to thanksgiving. He became extremely agitated claiming because he was the grocery manager at the store he would have knowledge of said primo. I took my phone out to show him the photo of the promotion I was referencing, he walked away. To me that lacks professionalism. I understand it being 9pm and the store was closing his desire to leave, however to be combative over a customers question seems over the top. several employees were standing around watching this unfold. The remaining customer service rep, Wilson who attempted to help deserves a promotion. Paul needs to go back for remedial training. read more

FAIR WARNING - I spent the morning of 10/11/19 trying to figure out how to transfer prescriptions from Walmart Pharmacy on Heald Way to Publix. Well, lemme save you some time. Why would you wanna transfer from another pharmacy to Publix? I called the Publix pharmacy the morning I was gonna make the change. The phone just rang and I was transferred back to customer service, then transferred back to the pharmacy "voicemail," then? NOTHING! That should have made me pause. I decided to continue with my "project" and went in to the store... spent some time in line and then spoke to "REBECCA." BIG mistake. When she said "they" might not be able to fill it because it was a narcotic, I said, "it's NOT a narcotic," and she said, "yes it is....," once again I should have RUN! I was not filling a prescription for pain medicine... it was a completely different class of medicine. The fact that Rebecca would even argue with with me still infuriates me. SHE KNOWS NADA. It's not and never was a narcotic script. So, I ask to speak to the pharmacy manager....hmpf. "Sorry, I can't fill it, we've met our controlled substance quota for the month." I just couldn't believe it, so I asked for the manager. Long story, short... the store employees can't do anything about the pharmacies poor service, though I appreciate that they tried. If you have multiple scripts or are not an established customer save the hassle and go elsewhere. PUBLIX PHARMACY WILL BE SURE TO DISAPPOINT!! read more

Bless their hearts, the people who work at this Publix all deserve awards for dealing with some of the most spoiled and entitled old people on the planet! I have recently retired and moved here to The Villages and shop at this location. I have witnessed a few tantrums and impatient hissy fits while waiting in line at the deli and bakery counters. I have yet to see any Publix employee just standing around goofing off. They all do a great job and are always very helpful. Some of these old farts need to take a chill pill and relax and wait their turn like a grownup. Thank you again to all the great people who service this location - you all ROCK! read more

One of the newer Publix (or is the plural Publi?) in The Villages. Not the greatest bakery, but they still have a decent selection. I come here for the staples but not specialty items. On the plus side it usually isn't as busy as the other Publi because it is in a not so densely populated area. read more

I have been trying for 3 days to reach someone in the pharmacy to cancel a prescription sent to wrong pharmacy (yes, I called my DR office and told them I wasn't able to get through and would they please call and cancel - still received an rx reminder this am) and am on hold once again after being asked 7 different times "how may I direct your call" .. first two went to pharmacy.... no answer ... last 4 supposedly paging a manager... 5th time (no manager yet) the woman dialed direct to pharmacy and I cancelled the order. 28 minutes of aggravation. If that hadn't worked I was going to take my acute bronchitis germs to Publix and share. Shame on them. read more

If you like wasting time looking for a parking space; waiting for 20 minutes at a mediocre deli; then getting a sarcastic reprimand from a cashier who wants the coupon up front, hen this is the store for you. The cashiers are Not consistently friendly. Some are, some are Not. The store is. Lean but quite mediocre. They have no exciting, gourmet products. The store reminds me of the old supermarkets of the 1980's. read more

This publix is usually very crowded. But now that the walmart food store has opened across the street, this publix appears to be less congested. The people who work there are relatively friendly considering how busy they are. I've seen them go out of their way to help folks. Just remember that there are often a lot of new shoppers especially on the first 2 days of the month. I also want to commend this Publix and the other ones in the area for how well they handled Hurricane Irma. They actually had an employee standing by a huge stack of water assisting people by putting the cases in the carts. read more
