This is about the Publix Deli on Northgate Shopping Center, 1395 6th NW, Winter Haven, FL 33881. Our experience there today, 10/27/2019 at noon, was totally different from the excellent services we get at the Publix Deli in nearby Auburndale, where we go almost every Sunday to order subs. This Deli was dirty, with overflowing garbage cans at the entrance to the kitchen and inside the kitchen (both visible to us from across the counter where we ordered the subs), had a yellowish (breading?) powder spilled on the floor (at the right side of that entrance to the kitchen) and a pool of water on the floor at the left side of that same entrance (a slip and fall risk to employees). The door of the upright refrigerator or freezer inside the kitchen, also visible to us from the counter, was dirty, with many hand prints on it. It also took too long to get our sandwiches as the woman preparing them was slow and appeared to be unsure of what she was doing. There were no meatballs for one of the sandwiches. The salad and cheese trays were empty and she had to go and get the two types of cheese we wanted from the regular deli area and slice them. The tomatoes and lettuce trays were already empty, making her getting them from the another employee that came to prepare a sandwich for another customer. Totally different from the Publix Deli in Auburndale where ingredients are constantly replenished, the place looks clean and, in the rush time, three or four employees prepare sandwiches simultaneously! This was our second visit this year to the Publix Deli on Northgate and we decided to go there, even of the first visit was not pleasant (a very slow and unsure service) as it is closer to where we live but will not return to that deli. read more
