This is an older, small Publix that is decent for a small town. It is well kept up, clean and they have a lot of nice staff members and nice managers. The deli/hot bar area could use a lot more help though; there are almost always lines there and not enough help to slice deli meat, make sandwiches and/or cook the chickens and hot bar area items, let alone enough help serving them. I think they should do smaller batches of the hot bar items, more frequently to keep items fresher and not overcooked. That area is often neglected with either not much of a selection, especially after 5 pm, and/or overcooked dishes that have been on the hot bar too long; and usually there is no service person dedicated to serving just the hot food bar customers in that area; they seem short-staffed with oblivious help in the fryer area focused more on cooking chicken tenders (used mostly in the deli sandwich making area) and chicken pieces for boxes to put out. They are more often than not out of the Greenwise natural roasted chickens after 5. And regular roasted chickens are low too. But I don't care for the roasted chickens that have a lot of fluid solution injected into them. So I go without unless they have the Greenwise more natural type roasted chickens. They have a decent produce selection, but are lacking some of my favorite gourmet cheeses and other gourmet products that are available at most bigger Publix locations. But they do have a lot of items that aren't going to be found at Winn Dixie or Walmart. It's the best overall grocery store in Okeechobee. And I recommend using their app to see the sales items which run from each Thursday through the next Wed night. You can add items to your list. And make sure you view the digital coupons which you can 'clip' in the app; then when you checkout and enter your phone number associated with the app, their system will enter your clipped coupon discounts and/or BOGO deals. Otherwise you may miss out on some great deals each week! They are open 7-10 M-Sat and until 9 on Sunday except on holidays. And they have a water filtering machine (.50/gal) on the left side of the storefront, outside, that you can use 24/7. read more

A joy to shop here. I've lived around the U.S. and abroad and this may be my favorite conventional grocery store. Unfortunately I don't live near it but whenever I'm in the south, I enjoy stopping in for some groceries. You can tell the chain takes pride in what they do. read more

This is one of the smaller Publix stores I have been to, but it was surprisingly clean and tidy & the aisles were clear and easy to get down. The deli area looked well stocked even though they were busy; the blue cheese burger patties we got in the meat dept were average tasting, but they were huge, even after cooking. The lotto/tobacco counter is suuuuper slow and one employee actually sent people away from her register even with like 4 other people in line at the only other register there. I had to give 4 stars because of that experience. But I have never met friendlier cashiers at any Publix store in Florida, so that bumped this review up a star. I will be back due to the convenient location and big parking lot. read more

Yes, ïts a Publix store but the customary customer service isn't here... The deli was especially lame. I've been to numerous Publix delis all around central and South Florida. I don't eat fried foods. Normally the deli either had or could arrange the two piece chicken dinner to be from a rotisserie chicken. The answer here was "we don't have it"... I explained several other Publix stores simply take one and cut it into the two piece chicken dinner IF THEY don't already have an alternative to fried. I explained that to the lady. She said all they had was fried. As i told her I was going out to the KFC in the parking łot so I turned and started walking. She called me back and said she could do it..... someone was standing behind her this time... the manager?? The mens room was also dirty and short on supplies. Not impressed... read more

Hands down, the best grocery store in Okeechobee County. Granted it is a bit more expensive, but I feel that this very slight disparity is warranted by several other positive points. Chief among these points is the customer service that Publix is known for. I have consistently experienced this over the thirty-plus years that I have been shopping here. The store is clean, products are displayed in a neat and orderly fashion, and if you can't find something, employees and managers will literally drop what they're doing and help you. Another often overlooked quality is the attitude of the employees. I can tell that Publix treats their employees well because they look happy to be at work. That's important to me because I know that when I'm treated well at work, my productivity improves and so does my attitude. Walmart may be more affordable, but Publix makes me feel like they actually appreciate me shopping at their store. You can keep the extra money Walmart, I'll continue to shop where I'm appreciated. read more

When we visit Okeechobee we stay at Pier II Resort and visit Publix, which is not far away, for all our grocery needs. They are always super helpful. Not being familiar with the store, I asked someone in produce where a grocery item was, expecting that she would tell me which aisle to go to. No, she stopped what she was doing and took me all the way down several aisles to find what I needed. They are just the best. Good, quality food, too. read more

The worst Publix Deli I've been in! Unfortunately, it's in my home town. The deli does not keep up their soups filled, 50% of the time they are empty. The employees are obviously poorly supervised and lack concern. I have held judgement on them long before posting a bad review, but nothing changes. The overall store is old and in need of moving into a new larger building. The others are way more modern! read more

This grocery store is always well-maintained and clean. They do a good job of remembering your name. My daughter loves it because when we go to the bakery they always give her a cookie. It definitely helps us get through the shopping. read more

I love Publix selection of items. I also love the deli. However, I find the prices are bit high, but I don't mind paying them for the service I get when there. Also they have a great selection of gluten free items! read more

I recently moved to Okeechobee from Palm Beach Gardens and before that Lauderdale by the Sea. I have always enjoyed shopping at Publix. I can tell you this is one of the best Publix I have ever been to. Donna, is always cooking up a delicious meal for shoppers to taste. She does not mind going the extra mile to teach you how to make the delicious dish. Nita, another employee, always greets you with a smile. A plethora of other employees are always willing to go out of their way to answer questions in the meat department or help you find a product. The best part of this Publix is the fact that they always play music over their loud system. Sometimes you can't help but dance in the aisle while shopping!:) read more
