Super friendly customer service! Had a great time getting a pub sub with Mariah and Ben.

I went to Publix after work and ordered a mac & cheese and fried chicken meal. I ate the fried chicken at six and woke up at 12 in the morning vomiting and with diarrhea. I then next day took the chicken to publix and filed a report. They called me the next week to tell me there's no foodborne illness despite the chicken being raw they only gave me a $25 gift card. Publix is my go-to when it comes to supermarkets and with all they offer to their customer base, they literally set a standard for supermarkets that is far to exceed. Publix offers incredible customer service, great buy one, get one free deals (BOGO's), a great selection and let's not forget their subs, affectionately known as pub subs. I strongly recommend Publix. If you try it once, you will understand. read more

Hate their sushi department. Always with that krab or baby shrimp for Wednesdays. Worst Publix by far for Wednesdays.

In my opinion, the Publix on 39th Avenue is one of the best grocery stores around. The prices may be slightly higher than other places, but the excellent customer service keeps me coming back! Every time I walk into the store, I'm greeted with a smile and a helping hand. I am visually an able body man and every time I get to the register, I am asked if I would like help carrying my items. Even though I always say no, it's still nice of them to ask. I also noticed that this particular Publix hires more mentally disabled individuals than others and that is amazing to me. Furthermore, their bakery is phenomenal. Below is a picture of the last minute birthday cake that I needed when my sister came to town for her birthday, they were able to easily fulfill my request and it turned out better than I imaged. read more

Publix Super Market - a birthday cake - Grocery Near Me - Gainesville, Florida

I left two stars originally because I felt like I was betraying my favorite grocery store in the entire world. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt but 1 year later this publix still has it so wrong. I don't even think I can put into words how infuriating this publix is EVERY SINGLE VISIT! I can't even make this stuff up. Publix is supposed to be all about customer service but they SUCK! Are these people in Gainesville just used to this kind of service so they don't even realize what they are missing?! EVERY SINGLE TIME WITHOUT FAIL (as in 1-2 times a week) I go to this publix with a shopping list of ingredients I need to make a certain meal, they are always out of at LEAST 2 items on my list. They either don't have it or they have run out. EVERY SINGLE TIME!!!!!!! "Do you have shredded cabbage?", "No we don't we are out." I mean who even buys cabbage that frequently that they are running out? I swear 3 weeks in a row they were out of publix vanilla yogurt. This is an item that I eat everyday with my lunch. They told me to come back later in the week...still not available when I came back. In fact, that whole dairy aisle is all sorts of messed up. The items are arranged differently constantly. That is just one example. Seriously, I can never cook anything I want because 1-2 ingredients are unavailable. And I have shopped at a million other publix locations and this never happens. It's funny because as usual as you are checking out they ask you if you found everything you were looking for. The manager was standing there and I said, well honestly you guys are always out of items especially yogurt. I think I caught the cashier and manager off guard because most customers just answer back "yes, I did thank you". She just paused and said "awww" like she felt bad for me. Why are you just training all your employees to ask that question if you aren't going to teach them how to answer and resolve the problem. I know for a fact, if I said that at any other publix the employee would immediately tell me they could always order something for me if it is not available. I have been eating Pub subs since I had teeth. I always ask them to clean the machine before they cut my meat because I don't want any cross contamination with pork. This is always an easy process for them and they are always so accommodating. It takes them two extra minutes to do. I asked the lady at this publix to do the same thing. She seemed a little bothered and was like "well it's going to take 20 minutes or so if that's what you want". I was like "huh, I don't need you to run it through the dishwasher. Just spray and wipe like they usually do!", and she was like "No, it doesn't work like that". Honestly, everything about this publix is so backwards and weird. The amount of times they have scanned an item up incorrectly and not given it to me for free. Isn't that standard Publix policy?!?! Also, I have given up on couponing here, they literally never take my coupons without issues. Which is the exact reason why I love other publix locations. OH! and how could I forget! They were advertising a chicken meal in their ad and the ad specifically said call and order ahead of time to make sure it's ready when you get there. I called and the guy at the deli was super confused and said "yeah, I don't think we have that here. Why don't you try another publix!"............ WHAT THE ACTUAL EFF? read more

Alachua County has a wear mask indoors mandate. Publix is not enforcing. They offer but do not require masks, against the county mandate. Employees at this store have tested positive for CORONA19. I will shop elsewhere until Publix decides to enforce appropriate mandated affecting everyones health. So long Publix. read more

Incredibly friendly staff and a clean store; cashier Kelly was a joy in a stressful season!

Fresh fruits and veggies at 9:30PM one day and BBQ goods at 8PM another. If you need to buy the big 24 packs of beef patties because they don't have them out in the freezer aisle, just ask the butcher and they'll bring a couple of boxes out for you. The bread aisle seemed to be demolished no matter what but everything else was well stocked. read more

Hard to believe there are two publix right next to each other. I live publix great customer service and decent prices. read more

I have high expectations at Publix. It's the best and you get what you pay for most of the time. However, every time I go to the floral department at this particular Publix I am disappointed. It troubles me because it's the closest Publix to two or maybe three hospitals, a large retirement community, several large churches and great neighborhoods where you need a good quick stop florist nearby. For intense, I was invited to a garden party and I wanted to take a nice flowering plant to the host and the plants at this Publix were literally parched. I had to ask the store attendant to water it for me before I bought it and this wasn't the first time I had to check this store for its floral situation. They did give me a discount on the thirsty little plants each time. read more

Great news for people who love Philly cheesesteaks!!! (Sad news for anyone who values having an ample selection of cheesesteaks...) Public deli has the best I've found around town. I'm a glass half full girl, myself. read more

Love PUBLIX. This store is a bit small and does not seem to have the large selections of the other stores. Always clean, staff friendly and very helpful. Prices about the same as any other PUBLIX. Love the BOGO specials. read more

Only a handfull of employees are wearing masks and gloves. This means that their products are not handled safely. Probably all covered with Coronavirus. And most of the customers do not wear masks either. Go to Trader Joe's where all employees are wearing cool-looking facemasks. Better safe than sorry. Yikes. read more

My favorite Publix in town. Every employee is beyond nice! The produce boys will help you find anything you might need and the people behind the deli counters pay attention to detail. Really love the deals on flowers. The produce here is always super fresh and looks so great. They have a great selection of products including health foods I didn't expect to find there! It's a pleasure to shop here! read more

I don't think that people from Florida appreciate how great Publix Grocery Stores are... great prices and products, always consistent, and i can honestly trust the quality of the publix brand name. I love how they carry boar's head meats, bake their own bread (even though it comes in frozen), and make their own desserts. Have you tried the tiramisu?? delicious! read more

This store is very clean and very organized. It is also very big. It also has good service. This is definitely where shopping is a pleasure!

Never knew that loving a grocery store was possible until I met Publix.

Extremely nice and helpful staff! Very friendly. Their fruit seemed much fresher than other Publix's I've been to.

The staff is awesome! They are extremely helpful and really nice, even though one can tell they've had a long day. Everything is always neatly stacked and organized, I never find it in a disarray. I love it!! read more

I wish we had one of these in Dallas. This grocery is clean and the store associates are nice and helpful. The produce selection is amazing and very fresh. I didn't see anything overpriced. I tried the subs and was very pleased. A local told me to try the fried chicken next time. I need to find a bumper sticker that reads I Love Publix. read more

I couldn't believe the level of customer service provided by the staff. I was recommended trying their deli for lunch and from the moment I walked in I didn't think I was in a grocery store. The staff at the deli was exceptional. They acknowledged guests while in line, engaged with me while taking my order etc. Becca I think her name was. She needs a raise to be honest. She did a great job. read more

Hello, I work down the street from this Publix, and go there for lunch quite a bit. I literally just left actually, and I tell you what I will not be coming back to this one for a long time. I have always liked this Publix, and the employees that work there which is why I was so stunned at what happened today. I went to get a chicken meal with sides for lunch from the deli area, and there was two ladies working that part, and i did not know either of their names. One was a little younger, and was very sweet and I told her to give me a second as I looked things over. Then when I was ready the older lady came up and was like "What do you want?" All I asked was if there was a way to get a meal with just one piece of chicken, and two sides? She stated, "That's up to you, because you still will be paying for both... so what all you want?" I went ahead and told her that'd be fine and I just wanted a leg, potato wedges, and mac n cheese. Then, the younger girl stated, " If you wait one minute I will have some fresh wedges." I said that would be nice, either way it doesn't matter". The older lady, said "Ok... So do you want to wait?" I said yes that'll be fine, and she walked off. When the potato wedges were done the young girl proceeded to ask her was it rotisserie or fried leg that I was wanting since she initially took the order, and the lady firmly and kind of nastily stated to her, " I don't know! You'll have to ask that girl, I don't know what she's wanting AT ALL!" First off, I'm standing right there, so do not talk about me as if I am not, and second of all I told her exactly what I was wanting, so I am not sure how it was like I was being difficult? I have just never had an employee of Publix be this rude to not just me, but her co-worker as well. She made me feel rushed, as if I were a bothersome, and that I was quite frankly dumb for only wanting one piece of chicken.. but do not worry I will not be an obligation for this Publix again. :) read more

It's a clean store with a great staff. One problem is it occasionally doesn't have some of the sale items.

I'm only a fan because this Publix is down the street from where I stay and it is convenient for an in and out visit. I like to usually go to the Publix on 13th street for grocery shopping as they seem to be a lot more friendlier..I don't know why?? :-p read more

The store is ok But Publix has the best subs and chicken tenders, but the service in the deli is so bad I usually won't stop. You can be the only person in line and your still going to wait. Nobody is going to wait on you, they just stand around telling you someone will be with you in a minute. That's usually good for 5 min. I was at the Newberry St. store once, nobody was there, I figure it was a great time to get a sub, WRONG, I stood there in front of the dingbat waiting for her to take my order, she was to busy telling her friend, who was across the way, filling up something about her night out, totally ignoring me looked right at me never even acknowledged me just kept on talking to her friend. Never went back to that store. I swear the Publix Deli Has the worst service I've ever seen anywhere. As much as I like their food it's not worth the bullshit.I'v been to at least 3 in Gainesville and 1 in Ocala, they all suck. read more
