This property is not properly maintained. The floors are dirty, trash is often seen uncollected. At one point there was a bloody mattress by one of the entrances resting against the shrubs for weeks. transients can often be found walking inside the property to include the clima controlled areas. I reported this to corporate and the problem persists. We moved to a competitor's property due to this. Their climate controlled building is hot and humid. My photos curled up. And its completely infested with cockroaches. Now all my stuff is infestedbeith cockroaches. Where do they get away with charging me $180 forna unit thats got bugs and gave all my stuff bugs. I mean my brand new bassinet for my brand new baby had to be thrown away bevausenof the roaches. And one day it was raining inside the building in another unit luckily this time not mine. Because i went thru that allready and everything got destroyed and moldy and we still havrnt gotten thr insurance money because the adjuster wouldn't even even call us back and when they finally did send us an email of where to send all the pictures it has his crazy instructions that they want you to print out all these pieces of paper and sign them and upload them and I don't have access to a printer, so it still hasn't happened so we still haven't gotten reimbursed for all the damage that happened when it rained inside our first unit. Dont rent here their bathrooms disgusting and never has soap or toilet paper. and if you are there a moment past 9 PM, they literally tried to trap you and lock you in because the gate won't open you have to manually open it yourself and if you don't know how to do that you're screwed you're gonna have to call the cops are come and get you out and rescue you because you're trapped. i'm honestly thinking about taking him to small claims court over the whole cockroaches thing I mean literally I mean I have bugs in everything. Problems: 1) Water came into my unit and got several boxes wet. Their roof, their facility but "not our problem". 2) Yearly increases of 15%. I started out at $99 and ended at $230 with a loss of quality and service. 3) Keypad was tipped backwards so you have to get out of your vehicle to key in the code. 4) Automatic lights took a very tall person to turn on (or a short woman waving her arms like crazy.) They would not stay on long enough to get anything done. 5) Personnel had a bad attitude so the answer to anything was "no", "can't", "not allowed". 6) Pull carts were locked up so you had to call the office every time you needed one. 7) Bathrooms were locked. Public Storage provided a clean and climate controlled environment for our household belongings while our new home was built. That was the positive side of our experience. The negatives were: billing snafus and confusion on the Public Storage side of the transaction; bathrooms always locked and not accessible; and, no proration provided for moving out early. We paid for the entire month of February. Turned our unit over to Public Storage on the 7th. Asked for a proration of the rent and was told "no, read your rental agreement". What a money scam! I'm sure they had that unit immediately re-rented! Bottom line - read the very fine print on your rental agreement, don't expect easy access to a bathroom, and stay on top of billing and payments, especially if you sign up for auto-pay. read more

Deborah, their manager went out of her way to assist us with the application process,patiently reviewing all procedures. The facility itself is very clean and well lighted. I wouldn't recommend Public storage on West Granada . I booked a unit online a week in advance . Received a call from Debra within an hour of the booking to confirm . The day before the move in date I received another call from Debra confirming my unit and an appointment to check in the next morning . I arrived the next day to check in at the scheduled time and I was told a "walk in" came in and rented my space . They had no other spaces available . Wow ! After 2 confirmation calls from Debra ... she didn't have the courtesy and take the time to call me so I would not have to drive to the facility. What a waste of time and stress to add to my move . I made an online reservation on October 31, 2016 for a move-in on November 1, 2016 and received a confirmation call back from Valerie. All was well thus far. When I showed up on November 1, 2016 I met with Valerie and the conversation went like this... Valerie: Hello Ma'am. How may I help you? Me: "I'm here for the 5x5 unit" Valerie: "Do you have an appointment?" Me: "Appointment? I wasn't informed that I needed an appointment". Valerie: "I'm sorry ma'am but we don't have any units available at this time" Me: "I reserved a unit yesterday and it was confirmed" Valerie: "Oh, okay then what's your name" I gave her my name then she proceeds to ask me a series of questions about what I'll be storing in the unit. I informed her that I had just driven all the way down here from New York, I'm very tired and would just like to see the 5x5 space so that I can determine if my belongings will fit before answering all of your questions and filling out your paper work. She then says "Well if you tell me what it is that you're storing then I can tell you if it will fit or not. I can't just show you the space without filling out these forms. This is our procedure". I left the store and called the public storage main line to request a different public storage facility. The tele-prompts transferred me to the next Public Storage Representative. When the phone rep answered I started to explain the situation that had just occurred and how the Storage rep was giving me a run around just to see the space but the phone rep then cut me off and said, "Ma'am, I'm the woman who was just giving you the run around. It's our procedure to ask these questions before showing the space...". From that point, I just gave up on Public Storage and ended up finding a better deal with Cubesmart. So if you're looking for a storage facility in the Florida area, check out CubeSmart. Their staff was super professional, very courteous and had no problem showing me the unit space before going through the rental contract. The next day (November 2, 2016) I received a phone call from someone else at Public Storage asking if I was still interested in renting a unit with them. Horrible customer service. They do not seem to care about their customers. I transferred from 2 units into one larger that both and it cost more per month. Started paying for new unit on 1st but did not move into it until the 2nd and 3rd. They should not have charged me for either month of the 2 units. But said I owed for one and that I moved out on the 6th not the 3rd. Cameras prove I was out of both units in and by the 3rd. The location decided to over lock my units that were fully paid. For the rest of the month. Knowing that my car was in one if those units and I was planning in getting it that month, they overlocked the unit! This went on for almost 3 months. One unit went into lein status because they were keeping me from moving out, it was $288 mo, and should have never been over licked preventing me from getting my car. The store hung up on me when I called, or just wouldn't answer u less I blocked my number from showing up in caller id, said they gave managers msgs they never passed on. I called corporate many times. Left msgs for District, Regional 3-4 times each with no return calls and finally after 2.5 months, I found the number for the Division Mgr. In the end they removed all additional chgs, including for the unit they claimed I owed for that started it all, AND gave me credit in my new unit to cover the extra months I had to pay for the unit my car was in. Even though they compensated me for the monetary part, my time, frustration and total inconvenience caused was not/couldn't be compensated for. I was a paying, never late, long term autopay customer. I had $500 a month in rent between 2 units and they locked them (fully pd every month), due to $70 they said I owed for a unit I moved out of yet simply moved to a diff unit in same complex. I will never rent from them again! ZERO Stars, and their app makes me give them 1 star even tho they do not deserve it! read more

The staff, facilities, and experience was very professional and worth the cost. My only feedback to PS was the lack of communicating on the website 3 things a consumer should know going in: 1. You have to use a PS lock - about $20 so plan on that cost. 2. I think you have to buy insurance (that's what it sounded like) - add about $12/mo for the least amount of coverage. 3. You have to lay down something on the floor to protect your items from moisture that "sweats" from the concrete in the conditioned units - I bout a plastic drop cloth for about $5 from ACE instead of buying PS boxes to lay down. Maybe I missed seeing these requirements on the website but just in case... All this being said PS is a great place to store and I recommend them 100%! read more

I am finally able to get out of my unit. I moved in about a year ago and received a great rate and the staff in the office was very pleasant. All was going well until my 3rd month when my rate was just jacked up 40% with no explanation. I called and got a hold of the local site manager and he explained that rates will go up and down based on the season, i.e. like right now kids are coming home from college. Well I said I would move out and all he said was fine, "what day will you be leaving?". I know that I stayed in my unit longer than I should and I know that I was screwed as no service/rent should be able to fluctuate like that.
