Rent more than doubled since I moved in. I moved out. I was clear, and then they said I owe them another months rent. Nope. I was out. Now they have a debt collector after me. Nope. Not going to pay. Ethics. My mom had a unit we moved out of yesterday as her rent had gone from about $80 to about $200/month. She tried every way to get ahold of someone. Went to the office, drove around, called, website, app.... Stop jerking people around. The only way to get ahold of someone is to tell them you want to give them money. Everyone was very nice. I imagine it's hard to stay that way in a workplace that gets spray tanned like trump on their day off. Great people, in general. Very patient. Hated this place. They got me in when I was desperate to store my belongings before they were lost. Baited me with an attractive price for a monthly fee. After two months the price went up. This practice co tuned until I could no longer afford it and had to start selling off my belongings. The final monthly charge was nearly $200.00 a month. There are homeless people living in the units, people hopping over the fences and lockers broke into. This location in on Alameda in Norman, OK. Avoid this place at all cost. read more

Becky, the manager at Public Storage 26567 on 3290 Classen Blvd, Norman, OK, is phenomenal. She is very personable, resourceful and professional. She helped with all aspects of the rental and move-in process, making it painless. Renting several units with her were decisively great experiences. She is knowledgeable, courteous and explained the process, and cost, prudently. I've had several units with them for few years now and hope to remain there until I move away. Storages and facility are clean, safe and accessible. I will always be grateful to Becky for all assistances/supports. Pros: simple process, nice and helpful front desk, overall clean 7/10. Cons: Very expensive, gate hours are unreasonable. First night moving in the gate locked closed at 9pm and a bothersome process to exit by calling a out of area help desk who was impatient and unprofessional. Then I got notified and warned to obey gate hours. My advice for this chain is to move gate hours to midnight if the must have gate hours. Some people do not have time to be bound by gate hours after they've worked and managed their household etc. My guess is it is a way to discourage people moving out as we all know, moving stuff is mostly done "after hours" when busy schedules allow. So as far as price, I paid $90 for a bigger/as clean/24 hour access/ storage In Texas and at this location I'm paying $134 and frankly feel as though I'm being micromanaged by a corporation similar to when somebody collects everybody's phones in a basket during a business meeting so they can't be distracted. Advice: listen, it's a nice storage place for people to store junk. Allow people to access gate later into the night. It'll be okay. You have cameras everywhere and codes ets so trust people more. thanks. read more

They NEVER answer the phone! The door of our unit has been broken for 3 months, and I cannot get a hold of anyone to repair it. So thought I'd go by there, and of course, though the hours read they were supposed to be there - they were not. (It was a Wednesday at 2:00pm) I drove around the property for 10 minutes, and there were no employees on the property. Forget about calling corporate - unless you have half a day to spend getting a run-around. Wish it was easy to move our stuff - cause I would move to another company in a heartbeat! Also, watch out for problems with the first billings. They charge late fees even though your set-up on auto pay. Good luck getting it resolved with corporate. They also require you to purchase their insurance to the tune of $11/month. read more

If it sounds to good to be true, it probably is. The advertisement was for $15 a month for a 5 x 5 unit. I figured that's reasonable for a few months for me to decide what to do with my stuff when I move. I reserved a spot, came to see it, talk to the staff, double and triple checked that that will be my cost, and finally as I am moving out of my apartment we brought by a few things to store. I talk to the staff about getting access to my unit, they had me some paperwork, ask me for my card, run it and hand me a receipt for $36. Now, you have to understand that my stuff was not worth much, but it would've been worth three or four months storage at $15. So how did they come to $36? First month free, $25 sign up fee, and $11/month mandatory (!!) insurance. OK, I can understand the reasoning for insurance for a business like this. Problem is, they never told me about it in the two weeks we had been in contact. This means that I will be spending $27 a month ($15, $11 insurance, $1 taxes I think) instead of $15 for some really really old stuff that's probably not worth more than $100 in total. I did not sign the credit card receipt (I DID NOT!!!) and asked for an immediate refund as I reevaluated my options and decided I simply can't afford such a transaction at the moment or in the future months. All this in a snow storm while my helper friends are waiting to see what happens next. The manager would lot be available till the next day. Ok, we agreed I would call. I NEVER PUT MY STUFF IN STORAGE, I never signed the credit card receipt, I never even opened the gates to the storage facility let alone go in. The next day I called the manager, she refused to refund my money. I was already in another state, and my stuff was waiting at a friend's house. I called my credit card company and informed them of a fraudulent transaction from Public Storage. The credit card company refunded my money. Public Storage sent "my bill" to a collections agency!!!!!!! I keep my credit in good shape so we negotiated down to 50% which was $16. Conclusion: I paid Public Storage $16 for a headache, inconvenience, for lies. BE HONEST!!! I COULD NOT afford $36 at the moment! That may seem pathetic to some, but that's beside the point. The budget I planned for was unrealistic because the actual cost of the service was misrepresented. And they were not of the "customer is always right" mentality. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND this business. Every time I see their logo around the country now I get a nasty feeling in my soul. read more
