They illegally cut my lock off of my unit without my knowledge or consent . The most they were supposed to do LEGALLY was impose a fee unless the unit goes into Auction. The staff had access to my belongings and trying to charge me for destroying my property. read more

I gave it 3 stars because I was on a strict budget to stay under $100 and when I 1st got it, it was but since then, they've upped my fees every single month since. It started off at $89 +tax & now it's $124+tax!!! There's no way for me to move it to a different location or a different company because I live in Ohio and it's filled with the remaining assets of my deceased mother who lived in Jacksonville. The only other con I have is the fact that they don't have payment plans or extensions. I was told that if I couldn't pay it on that date that it was due that they wouldn't take my unit all they would do is keep giving me late fees until it was paid but I had at least 6 months until they would take it into their possession and put it up for auction, but I missed this month's payment at the beginning of the month and it's only the middle and I get an email stating that my unit is about to go up for auction if it's not paid today. I am financially struggling to say the least and this is the last remaining pieces of my mom and her property and I would hate to see it go but I just don't have $150 to keep spending every month and it might still keep going up. But all the staff members that work there are very kind and friendly and they know how to do their job. read more

I thought I found the perfect storage unit, until they started calling me every day after I reserved the space. But, still, I rented the unit on the agreed upon date. Then, I didn't understand how they were figuring the prorated rent, but they never returned my call. I had to drive all the way over there to sort it out. Then, they raised my rent by 25%, after I only had the unit 6 months. Again, no one returned my phone call. I found out that they can raise the rent whenever they want, as long as they give me 30 days notice. No wonder the show "Storage Wars" exists. They raise the rent so much, people can't afford to pay, but they have no where else to store their belongings. It's shameful they are allowed to raise the rent, but especially when they raise it by such a high percentage. I'll move my things out asap, and instead of getting a year's worth of rent from me, they'll just get one or two months of increased rent. Word to the wise: carefully read ALL of the fine print. read more

Besides one incident I did not have any other issues using Public Storage. I came to put some stuff in storage one evening which was around 6:30 or so and noticed a ton of shattered glass in my unit. It was probably from another renter and the glass just slid into my unit since the door has an inch or two gap from the bottom. Looking around there was no broom, dustpan or even a trash can. I've never had to look before. I came back next time with a broom, dustpan and a bag to clean up the mess. Why I ultimately made the decision to move out is because I received an email notice that they were doubling the price of rent. Oh, hell no. Not for no 5x5. I'm glad I got that notice and moved out because for the price I'm paying now, it's cheaper than what I was paying with PS and I can access my unit 24/7 instead of the 7am - 9pm at PS. They have a right to do this at any time because it's a month to month lease, I was there for about 6 months before they decided to jack their rate up. If you decide to rent here. I would advise bringing your own lock among other things. They charge double for what you can buy normally on top of their administrative fee. Also, bring a declaration of your homeowner's insurance if you have it because if you opt for their insurance and come back with your homeowner's paperwork they will prorate you next to nothing. He refused to honor the special. The special does not state a specific size as he went on to say that there are no specials at this time because they took all the specials off. The only reason this place got a a five star review was because of Tammy. From the minute I walked in she polite and professional. As we began our conversation she quickly realized that the online representative had screwed up my reservation. Not her fault, she did quickly correct the mistake. Tammy showed me a, 10 x 25 and 10 x 20. They honored the first month for $1, beware though that you will need a copy of your homeowners insurance or car insurance as it is they're policy to have insurance for the property in the unit. All in all I'm satisfied with what I got 10 X 20 unit for my vehicle. Total Price was 1$ for first month, $15 for insurance ( you can cancel this if you have your own insurance) and $25 for admin fee. $41 dollars for the first month is not to bad. There after I will be paying $139, plus tax and I canceled there insurance as i have my own. Overall experience was pretty good. read more

After building another store we have officially outgrown my storage capabilities. So in search of a storage units nearby. I stopped at one that wasn't right then another. The process went on till I found this place. The lady at the counter was nice enough an after a few question and some paper work. I was moving stuff in. It was a little at first then it grew to some more and then some more. Now it looks like a restaurant with and roll up orange door. I do like that the place is gated and you have to use a code to get in. Then you can get in from very early in the morning to early evening. After all we are always bring stuff in and taking stuff out. The whole site is kept clean no trash floating around the grounds. I'm happy with public storage I'm sure that we will be together for a while now. read more

The young lady(Kiya) that helped me the day I started storing here was very polite, professional, and I could tell she genuinely cared about what type of unit I needed. She shared the variety of ways to pay for the unit as well as the services Public Storage offers in the way of boxes, tape, locks, etc. She also let me know how many people I could let have access to the unit as well as how to allow someone access that wasn't on the list with several cards with access info for other employees that I send there. In short, she made getting our unit a pleasant visit. Thank you Kiya, I really appreciate the good service. read more
