Public Storage - Self Storage Near Me - Gretna, Louisiana

This is my first time ordering a storage unit online and it was incredibly easy to do. Everything was done immediately and I was able to finish it in less than 2 minutes. When I arrived, I didn't know how to get the door open and called the front office. The manager on duty came by immediately to assist me. The customer service was fantastic. I will definitely rent here again and refer others too. read more

I was supposed to get a code to access my unit 2 weeks ago. That code never arrived. In the meantime I've found another unit. At this point I just want my money back being that services were not provided. read more

I have been renting 2 storage units here with no problems. I recently downsized to 1 unit to save money but the rate went up in May '22. I made a quick call to the office and they were able to keep my rate what it was before the hike! So friendly and easy to deal with! read more

This morning I rented a unit at Public Storage in Gretna. The manager was incredibly helpful -- guiding me through the application process and getting me to my unit within fewer than 10 minutes! She not only gave me a proper lesson in locking my unit (at first a challenge!), but provided assistance with placement suggestions and even found me a dolly to make my move in the rain much smoother. Her communication was excellent and I am very happy with my unit! read more

All of my furniture was ruined by a leak in the roof. What wasn't water damaged was covered in mold. According to them "Public Storage is not responsible for your belongings". They also said "it should be thought of as storing your belonging in an outside shed". I can somewhat agree with that as I don't expect everything to be clean when I pull it out, but an outside shed doesn't leak or allow everything to get covered in mold. If this is the norm, why would anyone pay to store things here? What service are you providing if your customers can't be reasonably assured that their belongings will come out in a similar condition as when they were brought in? Basically, over the course of roughly 1 year, I paid them $1250 to ruin my belongings. Then had to go remove them. The lady on site is nice, though wasn't able to help. I spoke to her district manage who was no help. I then got in touch with regional manager who just kicked me back down to the manager below her. All answers were "we aren't responsible" and "that's what insurance is for". In short, if you aren't terribly connected to your belongings then store them here. Just be sure to over insure them. read more

This company has THE WORST customer service that I have EVER witnessed. From the local attendant, Jan, to two District Managers, Daniel and Miranda, I was talked down to, cut off when trying to speak, belittled, and very under appreciated as a customer. I do not recommend this company AT ALL based on the lack of respect and ill mannered treatment that I received. I would gladly pay a few more dollars with a competitor and be treated like a human being. I strongly urge you not to support this company!! Note: This experience was with the Gretna, LA location on Belle Chase Hwy. read more

My mother's recent death left my family with the need for storage. Fortunately, she already had a storage unit at Public Storage. We met Ms. Jan and she was warm and comforted us at an emotional time. Everything was easy to deal with and I would highly recommend it to anyone needing storage services. read more

The service was great. Like the fact my phone opens the gate automatically.

Really enjoying my storage unit. Very fair price for a 10'x20'. Recommended.

Great customer Service the staff are wonderful..I would recommend anybody to this public storage

I opened up my account on line from California with my planning to utilize storeage until I could relocate. I based my selection on solely on price NOT LOCATION OR CONVENANCE. As turns out needed two units so had to get another same day. I was so tired, really exhausted, was very unhappy would not rent another unit for same price, if course it was much more! So many hidden costs they do not advertise. Forced to purchase their calendar lock for $30 non refundable and useless to use any other place like a pad lock can use anytime, not these, and they will not buy them back or give your credit back. I didn't know this until I arrived either. Try to get renters insurance on your own stand alone policy, better coverage, less money overall. Then two months later they notify you there is a rate increase. Somewhere in their bookkeeping they misplaced a payment, keep trying to charge late fee. I actually pay two weeks in advance to eliminate late fees, gives them ample time to process my check, since they do not have epay, direct electronic payment from my on line bank. So it is a constant dispute monthly about extra charges and raising rates not as advertise pricing. Not good for long term faithful customers. The longer you are there the more they raise rates. I feel my things are safe and secure, well lit, and can have access early and as late as 9pm 7 days week, can even go on holidays if I need. read more

These people are unbelievable. The WORST service I have ever come across. I signed up online to receive a discount and I still had to pay a lot more than it was advertised as. Then, most of my things were ruined due to mold. I once called and asked how many days we are graced to pay bwfore being charged and I was told 7 days. Well I tried to pay on the 7th (because that is when I was paid) and they charged me $20. The lady FAILED to mention that the late fees are applied on the 7th day and you have 6 grace days. Then out of the blue they decided to raise the fees per month around the time of Covid-19. I am almost positive that they did this because of the virus and they kept justifying why they did it. Then the last straw was that I am finally moving my belongings out of this shit hole and I tried to throw things that I was discarding into the dumpster and it was LOCKED. So I places the items next to the dumpster and the blond haired woman popped outside the door telling me that I have to move the stuff or I will be charged $250. I knocked on the door for 10 minutes while she ignored me because I wanted to ask her what I was supposed to do with the stuff because my car was filled with the items that I was keeping and had no where to place the trash. She told me they are open until 9 and just come back and move it. She said that the dumpster is only for the workers. WHAT A JOKE. WHAT AN INCONVENIENCE. You mean to tell me that you guys have a whole dumpster IN the storage place and no one there can use it but those who work there. I find that hard to believe seeing that as when I first moved my stuff in it was open to all. She had the audacity to tell me to take my trash to a gas station. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PROPERTY HERE, THEY ARE TRASH! I'm read more

Natalie was very helpful and very friendly. She got me all squared away with getting a storage unit and made sure she explained everything thoroughly. read more

Let me begin by saying that Natalie in the front office was wonderful and very helpful. That said, I used this storage unit for 6 years, paying $120 a month (the rate started much lower). When I opened my unit (in the F building) there was extensive termite damage and evidence of rodents (droppings and large gnaw marks on wooden furniture). Roaches and spiders were thriving in there as well. If the item was not glass or metal it had to be thrown away. All of my furniture, linens, childhood toys, books, and artwork were destroyed. I would absolutely never recommend the use of this facility or this company. But if you do, make sure you are not being assigned to the F building. I am not the first person this has happened to in that specific building. read more

This storage was great at first but consistently got worse. There were many times the gate was broken. The outside lighting in the unit is horrible. I've never been there without seeing nails, screws, or other sharp objects capable of puncturing your tires which has happened on numerous occasions due to their lack of maintaining the area. Maybe they should change the name to short term storage because the price increases the longer you stay. There is a canal directly behind this unit which I'm sure attributes to the large rats that can be seen when visiting the unit after dark. The access is not 24 hours and you have to get out of your car to use the access keypad. The prices are probably low due to the number of people who have vacated the property due to the steady increases and poor conditions. Rest assured if you're there for any length of time, the price will increase. read more

I came in with my mother and brother today and I have to say Dewana was a pleasure to meet. She explained everything to my brother and mom and it was great . She took us to see the unit and it worked for us. She smiled the whole time and I know my mom asked allot of questions but she kept that smile and answered every question with pride a respect. My mom even had so many questions about the sofa cover and she didn't want to buy it but after talking to Dewana she bought one. They need more workers like this. Great Job Dewana!
