Reflecting on my time from this high school, I have to say that I have mixed feelings, leaning more towards negative over time. Even though I made some to a lot of friends, a lot of other people made me feel quite uncomfortable with their assertion, unwelcomeness and unpleasantness. Even the teachers and staff were not the best at helping with me with my issues at times, with a counselor named Beltramo outright excusing a bully when they were hitting me quite hard despite me not doing anything to them. Now the teachers were not the best with how they handled students, with Centeno not being a pleasant experience, even if she got a little better later on before leaving her class. She always yelled and screamed in front of my ears when I made a small error when having a pencil instead of a pen, yelling "PUT THE PENCIL AWAY!" and also being quite short tempered whenever I didn't meet her expectations. But she was not the only one who made my studies and experience worse. Of note who made my experience worse was a former teacher named David Long. Although I tried to clear up an altercation with him, he was telling me that "people who wear black like you are troublemakers, unlike me". When I tried to tell former Principal Bill Sarty about what happened, he told me "don't take too long, kid" and then refused to update to me about Mr. Long after our conversation where I didn't become punished. One other was Librarian Patricia Pelfrey. Even long after I stopped making jokes in the library for a short while, she was unpleasant and surprisingly rude to me. Whenever I talked to her, she was being quite demanding and unsettling, telling me to "hurry up" and insulting me behind my back. She was quite short-tempered to me, despite giving her my gratitude and thanks long after I ceased my jokes around my friends in the library. Rest in peace to her, no one has to go through what she went through, but my criticisms have nothing to do with her passing or prior condition. Regardless, I did not have a pleasant experience with her at all, but I also hope her family is doing well. Not all of it was bad, even if it does outweigh the goods. A few of the staff, especially the attendance staff and a sweet lady into Spider-Man, gave me great life lessons that not everyone must be liked, not even some good people. And a lot of friends were fun, even if some of them were shortlived or even former friends that ended poorly. I especially had fun times with Gard, one of my favorite teachers who was quite resourceful and kind. And Yu, my all time favorite despite not starting well due to her initial unpleasantness that turned into genuine friendship. And I want to add one of the most important events that traumatized and psychologically scarred me, was about one classmate. After she ignored my apology about being furious at her and her friends in gym, she not only sexually harassed me about my "size" at one point, but when I criticized her about it she gaslit me into making me think that I'm making things up. That is why I hate 2016 & 2017, and I had to deal with some friends and family tell me that I'm "freaking out" and "stop feeling traumatized!", feeling minimized and underneath a lot of people. As a result, awful moments like these shattered me and ruined my perception of reality for years to come. And this happened 10 years ago, so is it really my fault for having trauma and still having thoughts about them for this long? In general, even though I tried to look on the bright side and find some positives, I believe the flaws outweigh the goods. It was not a great time to be in, especially after these moments plus a few grand tragedies with my former friends, to the point that it changed me forever for the worse overall. I'm sorry, family, I know I can look at the positives but that mindset minimizes what I've been through. Even if others had it worse than me, these are my experiences and they were not as pretty as one might think.

I paid $1000 after being promised pre- and post-program testing to measure my daughter's progress…read more After the program ended, I learned that her initial testing had never even been completed. I received no pre or post progress report. As the one bed Barbra was able to print she was unable to verify the date completed. We had two meetings during this process. At the first meeting, I expected an update on my daughter's progress, but instead the conversation focused on paying for additional services, with no update on how my daughter was doing. At the second meeting, Mrs. Barbra, the owner, threw her hands up and asked why I was there. Once again, I received no update on my daughter's progress. I was also never given the opportunity to speak with the tutor who worked directly with my daughter. Mrs Barbra only wanted to read vague notes. Before I paid, Mrs. Barbra spent a significant amount of time speaking with me on the phone--even on Christmas Eve. She was attentive, friendly, answered my questions, and reassured me about enrolling my daughter. After receiving my payment, however, my experience with the communication and level of attention was noticeably different. I called and emailed multiple times seeking updates after program completion, without receiving a response. It took 2 months to get a meeting with the wonder after my daughter finished. When I requested either an additional seven weeks at no charge so the promised services could be properly completed or a full refund, Mrs. Barbra declined. During that conversation, I experienced eye-rolling, shrugging, exaggerated body language, laughing, and an overall dismissive response. I attempted to speak with two other staff members as well one named Rob, but unfortunately all staff was rude and dismissive. I paid $1,000 expecting measurable information about my daughter's academic progress. Instead, I finished the program without completed testing, measurable results, adequate communication, or a resolution. At this point, I am requesting a full refund. I believe this is a fair and reasonable resolution considering the testing, progress reporting, communication, and follow-up I was promised were not provided. Most disappointing was the way my concerns were handled when I attempted to address these issues directly. I expected a professional conversation and an effort to resolve the situation, not to leave feeling dismissed and degraded.

She shared a story and even showed fake tears of her and a story about someone in her family with Autism. My son has been able to read and write since he was two. We was told that one of the reasons is because he speaks African American at home, which is why he is having speech problems. My son would come home in tears saying that Cindy would make him feel stupid and he would have to always say sorry for his actions. We than went out and had a individual test of my son and they was heart broken to hear how a teacher could make someone so intelligent feel shelled in and insecure at such a young age. We pulled our son because of the protesting going on in front of the school and Cindy saying she can't do anything for my son because she is a public school teacher. Cindy called one day and asked if we can bring a toy so she could use it a pacifier for my son. I told her no that he has been in programs since 2, she went against what we said and bought him a toy and told him not to tell his parents. That was the last straw and he was pulled from the school immediately.

She started when she was in 4th grade and now she is a 5th grader. From the director of the center to the individual tutors, everybody is very professional and show concern for the educational advancement of my daughter. You meet with the director of education, Cindy, every month to look at the progress of your student. They are very flexible if you need to move your hours you just need to communicate with them. My daughter enjoys the reward system they have and absolutely loves the tutors, specially Pio, Mss Olivia, Miss Emily and Mss Norma. I have seen improvement in my daughter's reading and math already, and she is showing more confidence about school overall.

The daily practice and twice weekly sessions have helped him tremendously. Even beyond that, he enjoys the subjects. He loves all of the teachers/assistants he's worked with. His first teacher was Geli, and he was so devastated when she graduated and was no longer working there. He truly bonded with her and grew attached. Luckily, he then worked with Annanya who he now admires as well. Mr. Chen always updates me on his progress & is truly invested in each child's success. My son has come home with at least 4 certificates in the short time he has been here. I'm so thankful we found this program and stuck with it!

So I ask can I take his mask off. I let her know it's offensive to me as a mom to sit here and see my son having a hard time breathing and you're OK with it. The facility looked like an ER, you're being treated like you are disease. Just horrible experience. Doesn't feel welcoming or inviting for children. I'll be looking for another place.
