Pub Podkowa is a big bar/restaurant with a few rooms inside and a nice designed garden area. The place in general has a design inspired by traditional houses and stables. It's a fun place to go out for a beer or other drink with a group of friends. This place is always empty and it's ok for children. So, it's good for big companies. Food is average. Pizza is nothing special. Deserts are ok. read more

I've been here several times for "parties". The door staff are more like English-style bouncers and aren't particularly welcoming. They often seem to be confused about reservations (one of my friends was recently asked to pay for the privilege of reserving a table, but didn't end up paying in the end). The selection of draught beers is a little limited (only Kasztelan), but at least that is a reasonable price. I had pizza here on one occasion and it was fine. It's too bad everyone else on the reviews did not like or had a bad experience at Podkowa (translation, Horseshoe). Our party of four had a fantastic meal here the first time that we came back for breakfast/brunch on our last day in Krakow. On our first dining day we intended to have a "snack" but ended up having a most delicious meal. We all ordered the zurek - best soup/stew ever! We tasted zurek at another restaurant the night before and it was not as good as the one at this place. I had the chicken zapiekanka (casserole) and Chris had the vegetable zapiekanka. The zapiekanka was so freakin' good! Iwona had their pierogis and love them. Our meals were also accompanied with several beers and a shot for each of us at the end. The service both times were satisfactory and they accommodated our requests just fine. We are lucky that our friends are Polish so they were able to communicate with the staff and tell them what we want/need. The food arrived in good time and nice, hot and delicious. We returned on our last day for breakfast. We had the English and the Polish breakfast and one of us ordered a zurek. The patio garden is lovely. If it hadn't rained the night before and was dry, we would have had dined there during breakfast. I hope to come back here again when I return to Krakow. Thanks. read more
