Went to this location at the beginning of the night and to the Kazimierz location toward the end of it, or somewhere in the middle...it was definitely a long, epic night in Krakow. We did not try the food but I know I'd like it. Simple Polish standards that go well with drinking. All the food is 8 zl and all the drinks are 4 zl. We had shots only. Plain vodka, Vibovit, Polo-cocta, and Borewicz. The shots were very sweet so we finished washing them down with just plain vodka. All the vodka was perfectly chilled. That was not the case at the Kazimierz location where they were warmer. Warm vodka is not good vodka, blah. The idea of this chain is awesome.

What I love about this is that when they have a small band playing you have to walk between the band members to get back inside from the garden. The night I went they ran out of change so we all had to use our cards to pay LOL It is the kind of place you could take a loved one for an intimate drink as you do feel very hidden away. For this reason, it's frequently booked for corporate events. More than once I've come only to be turned away at the door. Given the considerable distance from the Center, that's aggravating. Even when it is open to the public, you still feel like running through the gauntlet walking in, as there're usually five or six bouncers hovering near the entrance. C'mon guys, I'm not trying to rescue Morphius! I just want a beer! Once you're in, then it's great. You even start to appreciate the bouncers whom you just dislike a moment ago. They're, after all, keeping them troublemakers out. The sense of security allows you to let your guards down and enjoy the night. Pretty much everytime I came to Forty Kleparz I ended up returning home completely plastered.

They stay open super super late (6am I believe) and serve food the entire time, which I was excited to learn as my flight had landed late and I was starving. Drinks are really cheap. I tried the apple pie one and was pleasantly surprised! It actually tasted like apple pie rather than just something sickly sweet.
