I've called my order on a couple of occasions, and my order was correct and hot! I did wait a few minutes, but food was just coming off the grill. I get the sauce on the side just in case someone doesn't want it or I sneak a taste The aroma makes your mouth water! Staff is friendly enough. No dining in service. Just pick up and go. This spot was on my bucket list we drove 600 miles to sample his rib tips. Owner Perry greated us with a huge smile that was genuine and bespoke the depth of his heart and love for people. Great food. Got a bunch of food and the guys quickly made my order. We ordered $60 worth and I ordered it when I got there because I couldn't find a menu and they had the food out in like 15 minutes. This place reminds me of a hole-in-the-wall, no place to sit BBQ places in Chicago, and my goodness, their rib tips are so freaking awesome. There are no space to sit and eat, so all your orders are to-go. That intense flavor that comes from smoking low and slow does show in it's tips. It's tender, juice and smokey. Just like they do it in Chicago. It's pretty simple operation they run, although they do not keep their sides hot(mac and cheese, baked beans etc) their cold sides (potato salad, cole slaw) are really great. This is the only authentic and old school BBQ in Decatur and you really need to come check this place out. read more

Just picked up a full slab of ribs here and it's FANTASTIC. Walk in and there's a small sitting area, but it keeps you out of dying in the heat. Doesn't take long to get food, small hole in the wall kind of place. Unfortunately I'm just passing through town so won't be back, but definitely it's a great place to go! read more

Fantastic ribs and rib tips! We went by and got a full slab and small tips which were delicious! We didn't smell any tasty smoked meat scents until we were inside, but then it smelled heavenly and tasted even better. We'll definitely be back...because they were out of brisket today and we really want to try the brisket there. This looks a bit downmarket compared with the only competition in town (competition has a rotating pink pig sign and stainless steel aplenty inside and more choices of sauce), and it is easily overlooked if you drive past on the east-west street to the north, but when I dropped by there was a smoker billowing fragrant smoke to Heaven like incense representing the prayers of the faithful (there is a religious element to good barbecue, like that or not -- some of the best BBQ places have Biblical passages posted, even). Portions of side dishes are bigger than at the competition, and there is a chthonic quality to the rib tips (at least -- need to return and try other meats) that makes them edge out the competition's, good as they are. A bit scruffy but the food is slightly better. At least the banausic tired old city of my birth has two barbecue joints worth going to. Note: neither has inside seating. Competition has nice outside tables. read more
