Congested chest, sinus and head that were going to prevent me from doing ANY exercise from proper ability to breath. Upon leaving the doctor's office I called MOTI 20 hours prior to my appointment. In spite of my best effort to cancel, they told me they would charge me a 75 dollar cancellation fee. Pretty outrageous for a company that that is soooo booked up if you do not reserve your appointments 3-4weeks a head of desired schedule has to put you on a waiting list. Now what exactly is a waiting list, but an opportunity for them to book you ASAP while no doubt charging cancellation fees while booking a replacement appointment! So let me make this EXTREMELY CLEAR. They had the entire afternoon to call the many patients they have on their waiting list to book the appointment. Case in point they called me once to take a cancellation appointment within much less than 24 hours. Are you people for real??? I suppose they would have preferred I put everyone at risk of catching my cold, since in order to get whatever breath I could in and out of my system a mask would have been impossible to perform the exercises. So I guess they would rather get the entire staff and other patients sick rather than waive their cancellation fee. Let's be clear here; This is is a case of profit over treatment. They'll charge you a cancellation fee, then turn around and book your cancelled slot and make even more money that way. So I showed up signed in for my appointment PAID the co-payment, and walked out, cancelling myself from the waiting and they STILL called me to let me know they would charge me the cancellation fee. Pretty gutsy. BUT WAIT.. THERE IS MORE!! And I guess I am not the only one who has experienced the other shenanigans at MOTI. While my allocated physical therapist was good, within 15 minutes of an appointment, I was passed on to an assistant who may or may not have the proper training to assist in your treatment. A moot point anyway because the vast majority of the time they are not even close to you to pay attention to proper performing of your movement, which is vital for your healing (in my case, arthritis in both knees, with the right knee being particularly painful). At times, you'll find yourself looking around to get their attention. Need I say more? Naturally, they'll be more than happy to blow sunshine up your rear end, telling you how soo seriously they take your comments, but rest assured that they will do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about any of them!

Today was the inaugural day of their new location: 3610 San Fernando Blvd. I put on my yoga pants and left super early, so I wouldn't be deterred by traffic or parking issues. I arrived at 2:15 for my 3:00 pm appointment. Guess what? THERE IS NO PARKING!!! They are located between two tiny side streets, Rosslyn and Dolores; bumper-to-bumper parking already in place, probably employees of the industrial businesses there who grabbed the few spaces at 5:00 a.m. San Fernando Blvd.? Plenty of parking *across the street* from Stay Ready, 10 or so blocks south of the nearest light and crosswalk at Glendale and San Fernando, so if you park there, either risk your life darting across the boulevard, or walk half a mile to the crossing, then half a mile back to Stay Ready. After repeatedly circling around and going up and down the side streets again and again, at 2:32 I called from my cell and left a message detailing the above. I said was leaving. Ha! When I got home, they had left ME a message saying, "Did you forget your 3:00 pm appointment?" I returned the call and...let's just say I'm sure they're happy they'll never get my business again. Sadly, I saw them located on the corner (of Rosslyn), with pretty new spiffy A-Frame signs on the sidewalk, announcing they're open for business. I'll bet they were high with anticipation for the launch of their new digs. I am sure it's gorgeous inside...if you ever make it inside. Run don't walk to Bartley Body Integration! Jay Bartley is a Structural Integration practitioner…read morethat really knows what he is doing and in my opinion works with you to get noticeable results quickly. I only have great things to say about Jay and highly recommend his work to everyone I meet. (If I had more time I'd write a shorter review, but here it is...) Most people don't know what Structural Integration (SI) is or what it does and how exactly it can help them. I was one of those people until I experienced the entire 10 series. The short explanation from my understanding is- we've all heard of muscle memory, but what we have not heard is that muscle memory is actually stored in the fascia and not the actual muscle. So SI is a massage type physical manipulation of the fascia that allows it to release, open up to receiving blood flow from the body and therefore it heals stronger than before. I included video of Jay Cutler (football player turned 4 time Mr. Olympia winning bodybuilder getting a form of SI done) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s2pfFrYnqGU also a great brief article about fascia and the leaps and bounds made in gains during muscle training. http://www.simplyshredded.com/fst-7-fascia-stretch-training-7-workout-routine-nutrition-guide.html I'm not a doctor and I can only really talk about my experience. But before working with Jay, I had muscle tightness in the back, legs, and jaw that would caused pain and headaches. I wanted to see if he could help with that. My experience is that the results were beyond my expectations. I wanted less pain or even no pain in my muscles. After going through the series, I was really happy that the tightness and pain is gone. But in addition to that, I've discovered a whole range of motion in my body that did not exist before. My legs feel balanced and secure and movement is easy and free and actually feels really good. I feel taller just like I've been untangled and able to really experience movement. My body from a structural standpoint looks stronger and my posture is naturally improved because of it. One things to know is that as great as my own results were, I had to work in each session for it. Some of the SI sessions were painful for a few minutes as Jay worked on different areas. The way I would explain it is that blood has to move in your body in order to heal your body. And there are some areas of your body that have been blocked for years. So obviously when those areas open up there is a pain sensation and a brief period of adjustment when your body recognizes that it is healing itself. If you are an Athlete or bodybuilder moving to the next level or A regular person dealing with chronic muscle pain, Run don't walk to Bartley Body Integration!

I had read up on AT and how a teacher can teach you to walk, stand, breathe, sit, and just overall move better. Sharon has totally changed the way I move my body, and even how I use my camera for my videography work. While the biggest physical change has been in my energy levels (so so much better now), the most profound one was in noticing just how much anger and tension I have been carrying around. There were multiple sessions where a bunch of deep seated anger came up, and she noticed it right away and handled it with such compassion and kindness. I had massive releases of anger after those sessions that have left me much more peaceful. She has such a beautiful presence and is so incredibly patient. She also loves to laugh and be a goofball which makes the sessions so enjoyable. The biggest takeaway I want to share is trust the process.
