Dr. Edmund Evangelista is truly an exceptional physician, and I cannot recommend him highly enough…read more He treated me for about eight years at Community Orthopedics in Mission Viejo immediately after my injury, and during that time he consistently provided thoughtful, compassionate, and expert care. When he moved to San Diego, I had to transition to another doctor, and unfortunately my back progressively worsened over time. Eventually, I felt completely out of options and decided to book an appointment to see Dr. Evangelista again--driving down to San Diego specifically to see him at San Diego Orthobiologics Medical Group. My only regret is that I didn't do it sooner. He immediately identified a significant change on my recent MRI compared to my previous imaging--something that could clearly explain my rapidly increasing pain. His attention to detail and clinical insight were impressive, but what truly sets him apart is his integrity and honesty. Instead of recommending a procedure at his own practice, he referred me to his former colleague who specializes in the treatment that would be most beneficial for me right now, even though he could not perform it himself. That level of selflessness and patient-first care is incredibly rare in medicine. The facility itself is excellent--very clean, modern, and welcoming. The staff is extremely friendly and professional, and you feel comfortable and cared for from the moment you walk in. I also truly believe in what they are doing there; they are clearly focused on the most up-to-date procedures and technology, and it shows in how knowledgeable and forward-thinking the team is. I will absolutely be back there in the future, but I am genuinely grateful that Dr. Evangelista sent me to the right place for my immediate needs at the time. That speaks volumes about his character and commitment to doing what is best for his patients. Dr. Evangelista truly takes the time to think through each patient's situation, explain options, and guide you through difficult decisions with empathy and clarity. I trust him 100%, and I am so grateful to have him as part of my care team again. If you are dealing with spine or orthopedic issues and want a doctor who is brilliant, ethical, and truly cares about his patients, Dr. Evangelista is the one to see.

Over the course of traeting my shoulder I tried acupunture, ART, RRT, massage, clincal fasting, physical therapy, modaility training, and a host of both topical and oral mediacations. All roads pointed to arthoscopic surgery. Based on MRI results, and the opinions of many leading specialists, I was a classical candiate for arthscopic surgery of the glenoid labrum, with various aneterior tears from noon to six. I was also looking at a biceps tenodesis to remove the long head of my biceps tendon. I was dreading surgery and thought that there was no other alternative. Then I found Regenexx. The Regenexx Procedure on my right shoulder has greatly improved the functionality of my shoulder and reduced the chronic pain. I would recommened the regenexx procedure to anyone with chronic shoulder pain who is either contemplating arthoscopic surgery or who has been examined by a medical professional and been deemed a candidate for arthoscopic surgery. I am so glad I tried the Regenexx Procedure. Please give this procedure a try before attempting any invasive surgery. You will be glad you did.

He is patient, listens and hears everything you say, and he truly wants to help you do what is best for you and to relieve your pain. I was referred to see Dr. E from friends, particularly for my neck injury, and my experience from the first visit on has been phenomenal. When you have an injury that requires you to go to the Doctor, you're not usually stoked, but if you have to go, Dr. E is the man to see. From the start, the staff are super friendly, the office itself is clean, with modern yet beach style decor, and a good vibe. Checkin was easy, and each visit since the first, my paperwork was pre-filled out, which made it even quicker and easier. Dr. E is a really cool, super nice guy, and impressively knowledgeable. He's walked me through all my injuries, and helped me understand what was going on, answered all my questions, and worked with me to form a plan to heal. He has never rushed me out of office, he's always given me his full attention and I've always left feeling like I had a comprehensive plan of attack to fix my injuries. From the visits, to getting imaging done (I've gotten multiple X-rays, MRIs, etc), to consulting about results, scheduling follow ups, you name it, everything has been easy and painless! I highly recommend Dr. E and his team!

This place is an absolute joke! My primary doctor referred me to Dr. Tallman for some foot issues…read more They asked if I could re-schedule my initial appointment to better fit Tallman's schedule in which I agreed to. I sat in their office for over an hour past my appointment time waiting to be seen. Dr. Tallman literally saw me for 5 minutes and I was billed $600 for the visit! Its places like this that give doctors a horrible name. Stay away!!

READ THIS ENTIRE REVIEW!!…read more I was originally recommended by MD Today Urgent Care to go see Dr. Norman Kane for a fracture in left foot. I did not know that he was also located in Carlsbad I was under the assumption that he was only in La Jolla. So, I found myself at Direct Orthopedic Care in Carlsbad as it was closer to me. The girls at the front desk were very nice and helpful, the facility was very clean. I was told by the orthopedic specialist named Brian Jones that I would need surgery for my spiral fracture on my left foot fifth metatarsal. I was then given a boot that went all the way up to my knee. Upon checking out I was told that my visit was $1,100. They took three x-rays and gave me a boot. I was not charged immediately as I did not have all my payment information available and my phone had just died. They made an exception for this and told me they could bill me later. Not being familiar with the medical system I didn't think much of it until my drive home when I realized that the amount seems very excessive. I got in touch with the billing team for DOC and they reached out to the Carlsbad location to discover that they billed me $600 more than I should have been billed for a boot that I did not receive. Thankfully we got that sorted out and I paid the $500 that I owed over the phone, which in my opinion was still way too much. I just saw Dr. Norman Kane and he told me that surgery is not necessary and that this fracture would heal naturally and I will not have repercussions for going the route of non-operation. They gave me a shoe to wear and I will go back in two weeks to check the healing process. Long story short I now have a $300 boot that I do not need and learned a valuable life lesson. I am very thankful I got a second opinion and feel very bad for the countless individuals that may have gone through unnecessary invasive treatments per the recommendation(s) of Direct Orthopedic Care.

I arrived at PRN Physical Therapy as a weakened, pain-ridden senior citizen (pain level 5 on a 10…read morescale). Pain drastically interfered with the most elementary daily activities.I had 2 surgeries to remove a tumor on my spine. The tumor recurred thus a second surgery was needed. Essentially, it was inoperable because of scar tissue was intermingled with tumor. I followed with radiation. I'll have an MRI in November to check the status. PRN Physical Therapy facility is very new. It is clean, roomy, open, airy and complete with all the best PT toys/tools. It's conveniently located off El Camino Real, in Carlsbad not far from Palomar Airport Road. Katie Sculley is my therapist and thank God for that. Katie's a true professional and she combines that expertise with a magnetic personality and energy level that's off the charts. Her assessment of my problem and treatment plan was right on the money. For weeks, it seemed I was making no progress. In fact the condition at one point seemed to worsen. One morning after a PT session I awoke virtually pain free. I was afraid to say anything that might jinx it - "traffic's really light today" - type paranoia. I have not stayed pain free, but the pain level is livable (2/10). Katie and I have continued to work to strengthen and open my back as well as stamina, balance and flexibility. I am not yet at 100% but with Katie's help I believe I will get as close as possible. I am very pleased with PRN and strongly recommend it to anyone. M Hennessy, Oceanside, CA

I was assured I would have the guy who runs the clinic. When I arrived, I had my forest evaluation with a very young man, he was nice and thorough, but oh so young. When I got home I looked up the therapists on the website and didn't see him. At my next appointment, I asked him why he wasn't on there like everyone else. He said oh I'm just an unpaid student here for the summer. So much for being assured I'd get someone with experience with my situation. Super nice kid, so I went with it. Other than being annoyed that the guy I was told I'd have didn't even observe the evaluation. The kids that lead your exercises are just that, kids who'd rather socialize amongst each other than pay attention to you. I'd finish what I was told to do and sit there looking around to get one of them to tell me what was next. One day this lady and I sat up looking around at the same time and she looked at me like what the heck with the same frustration I had. The guy who runs the place, I think it was JJ, never once got his ass off his barstool the entire weeks I was there. I was done, went and paid cash for PT when my insurance paid 100% just to avoid this joke. I called the corporate office to let them know....and no surprise....no one called back.
