I've only had great experiences at Psych Shack. The entire environment of the store is fantastic. Great people that are willing to help. Autumn pierced my helix at the store on 9th ave, and I loved her. Will probably go back to see her for more piercings. But I really came here to talk about a tattoo artist. Phil at the Plantation Rd has done the best of my tattoos. He did my first ones, and 3 years later they're doing great. I went back to him for my dad's memorial piece because I wouldn't trust anyone else to do it right. He BLEW AWAY my expectations. When it was done I almost started crying. The tattoo is beautiful (picture below), and he was so friendly and nice throughout it all (he even stopped and put lidocaine on it because of my discomfort during the last hour). I love Phil, and will probably continue to come see him for more pieces even though I've moved out of state. read more

I went in to get my daith pierced. I am an RN so cleanliness is key for me. This place is safe piercing association certified and everything was done to the highest degree of safety! The ring placed was first autoclaved then the piercer fully explained it all to me. She scrubbed her hands and arms before putting on sterile gloves to do the piercing. All needles are disposable as well! Very minimal pain due to her proficiency! Super friendly staff and very reasonable prices with lots of cool upgrades available! I would 100% recommend this place to anyone who wants a piercing of any kind. read more

They sell shitty expensive pipes that break! And they don't refund I bought one 3 days ago, and it broke so I took it back. The worker flipped out on me when I showed her the pipe. She taught there was stuff in there, then apologized but refused to speak to me until I put the pipe in my CAR.... not even my purse. She refused to be reasonable, and screamed at me as if I was her daughter. It was the worst experience ever. Never going back. read more

Stay away from the one on 9TH AVENUE. Mischief or whatever her name is tried on TWO PIECES OF NOSE JEWELRY ON ME to see which one fits. I was curious so I asked what was she going to do with it since it has been placed inside of my nose, USED/WORN... SHE SAID "technically it hasn't been worn, it's goes through the autoclave two times." They SELL JEWELRY THAT HAS BEEN PUT INSIDE SOMEONE ELSE'S BODY. I AM DISGUSTED AND SCARED TO DEATH. Luckily, I had to wait a few days until they got new jewelry in stock. So I am praying to GOD that the jewelry inserted in me was brand new since I had to wait a few days until new jewelry came in. read more

They are okay, but they charge way too much for basically anything. It's almost $10 for a 15ml thing of e-juice! I could see it kind of if it was just a struggling place with 5 customers a day, but this shop and its owner actually made a popular brand of synthetic marijuana and must have made millions and millions before it was made illegal in FL(and I bet he still sells it in other states to this day under his shell company!), and the prices never went down for other things even though they had lines of people giving them pure profit I'm sure every single morning for a year or two... and the owner comes from old money anyway, so he's basically just super stingy, which is kind of annoying. Plus no returns on ANYTHING, and they don't just sell bongs and pipes. read more

The worst! Sells items under false pretences. Then when you call them on it they say you must have been confused. No they won't do store credit or refunds. So now I'm out 40 bucks because the sales person(JD)lied just to make a sell. Bad coustomer service. Subpar employees(Bryce)that are argumentive and will hang up on you. I've been a customer here for around 6 years but the aftermath of their customer service last night changed that. My belly button ring fell out yesterday, but since I've had the flu my boyfriend went inside while I waited in the car. The boyfriend isn't a piercing guy so I gave him one of the balls from my other piercing (top and bottom navel) to help him out. He went in and asked for something like a round belly button ring while showing them the big gem ball. The lady responded, "like a horse shoe?" And he said "uh, whatever a normal belly button ring is, sure." So she gave him a circular barbell. Which would be common for say, eyebrows, nose, and nipple piercings, but so INCREDIBLY uncommon for belly buttons. The huge gem ball he showed her was a dead giveaway too! He went right back inside and told the saleswoman that it was the wrong piece of jewelry to which she simply said, "no returns." Not even a simple sorry. And now I'm out money and have a useless piercing... Beware their brand of "customer service" here. read more

Using your mother's authorized credit card?! Not in my tacky boutique! I went into this store 30 minutes ago to find my boyfriend a new spoon to use at home. (He had cracked the old one.) The sales clerk was an older man, not very friendly. Didn't think much of this as he was on the phone while we browsed. (He showed us one basket of spoons in our price range and when we asked where they were from, were told "probably from china" in the gruffest possible demeanor as he slammed them back into the glass cabinet.) We decided rather quickly not to actually purchase any glass from what was obviously an internet resale shop, and attempted to purchase a few hemp filter tips and some metal screens for the broken bowl. This is when hell broke loose. The sales clerk did not like the fact that we were together. This seemed immediately obvious to me. As I tried to use the credit card that my mother and I both have authorization to use (but which is in her name), I was informed (again, by the irate older man from before) that the store policy did not allow me to make the purchase as my name was not the primary one listed on the card. I was fine with this, as I had plenty of cash to back up the purchase, but decided to try to let the clerk know that although it was not my name on the card, I did have permission from MasterCard to use it, and that my mom had also sent me with her current ID. (Yes, we also share the same last name.) He said it was store policy not to, and that he couldn't. He also made a passing reference that he didn't believe I had the legitimate right to use the card. I asked for his name to inform management about the lack of customer service and how awful this guy was at talking to people. He refused. Not only did he refuse, he told me to get out of his store. That he would call the cops on me if I didn't. and that I was a "bastard". I tried to keep breathing deeply to remain calm, but I could feel the anger rising up in me. I informed him I was going to the other store to report this behavior. That was a mistake. He had called ahead, you see. And when I arrived at the store on 9th ave to complain, I was greeted by three young men ready to escort me off the premises. I spoke with the manager for maybe 60 seconds before I was insulting demanded of, "Why are you here?!" I told him about the spoon breaking and the disgruntled clerk at the other store and asked him why someone so clearly not wanting to serve anyone but themselves would be allowed to run the store completely alone, as he was. The rest is hazy, but the next thing I knew I was being told that the police were en route and that my tag had been written down. Of course this was all a lie and fear mongering. Fear tactics are great customer service, don't you think? Or at least a great way to get rid of angry customers who were treated like criminals. read more

I came in looking to buy a water pipe and some other items. Upon noticing that everything was at least 3-4x what I pay at any headshop just a couple hundred miles away in Tallahassee (some things even more...I came in to spend what I thought would be $3-400 and it would have been somewhere upwards of $1100 total.) I was far from home, and decided I had to roll with the punches, offered the owner or manager a very reasonable offer (I know what is reasonable because I've dealt with at least 30-40 headshops, including MANAGING ONE), only wanting a slight discount on one item I was looking to purchase in bulk (STILL MORE THAN 3X RETAIL.) He then proceeded to personally insult me as well as his customers laughing and saying "well, they pay it, because they don't have much choice!" (I have noticed there's an insane lack of good headshops in the area, however I guess he forgot about the internet. I ended up ordering online, and with free shipping got exactly what I was looking for for a grand total of $275, when it would have been $1200++ from this store. Greedy, inconsiderate people like this don't deserve to stay in business. read more

My husband and I had gone to the store located on 9th avenue for the valentines day special of bogo piercings and a tattoo. We were told it was walk in and to just show up. We went in and filled out the paperwork for the piercings and spoke with the tattoo artist who then told us he was booked for at least one or two weeks. While that was disappointing my husband still put a down payment for his tattoo. We were told it would be two hours to be able to have the piercings done so we told the piercer what jewelry was wanted and went to eat. We came back within the allotted time frame and was then told that they didn't save our spot because she wasn't told what jewelry to use. That there was now six people in front of us and no telling how many hours it would be before she could fit us in. Understandably upset, we stated we were no longer interested in their services and took our business elsewhere. I would not recommend going to this business if this is the way they treat there customers. Please save yourself the headache and go somewhere your business is actually appreciated. read more
