Most of my experiences at Psych Recovery have been great. That being said, I'm extremely proactive and a little bit pushy when it comes to making sure my meds are filled, etc... My biggest frustration is the lack of accessibility, as far as hours goes. If you have a busy week, etc...and are caught with your pants down, per say - between Fri at 5p and Monday at 9a, you're kinda screwed when it comes to meds. But, I think that also speaks to the lack of allocation of resources when it comes to mental health from the top down with our government. I have been seeing Katina Pougiales for a little over a year, and she has been incredibly helpful and compassionate when it comes to assessing what medication I should be on. But, I have heard from other friends who have tried to get into her - that she's no longer taking new patients. As far as wait times are concerned - yes, usually you do need to wait at least 30 minutes for your appointment. I don't find it surprising though, because all it takes to get behind, is for someone ahead of you to be having a very traumatic day - so, when we're talking about wait times, it's not a shock. I do think it's considerate that they have a small area for children to play at a table, free water and magazines for folks waiting. Free parking and light rail access is really nice. That being said, if you don't like the provider you're given - some people may not know that you are able to request to switch. Finding the right doctor/psychiatrist, etc...is a lot like dating. You need to find someone else that is on your same level...especially since we all have very different needs. The only medication denials I've had, have been when I take more than my allotted amount, or - if I'm trying to refill a benzo of some sort, without a recent appointment. That doesn't fly anymore with pharmacies. So, make sure to check your meds to see how many refills you have, and if it's coming up that you need a refill, and don't have an appt scheduled - leave a detailed message on the triage line asking to schedule an appt, and explaining you have a medication emergency. Typically the nurses there will refill your meds, as long as you have an appt on the books in the future. Overall, I've had a MUCH better experience here than with other places. But, I think that has a lot to do with my individual psych nurse and her clear directions about what to do if I feel like I'm in a spiral/panic, and need medication. read more

They refused me service over a decade old bill that they made no attempts to collect on and had long ago written off. The only reason they didn't get paid is my claim was denied based on my insurance citing a bogus preexisting condition so not even something that would be legal today. read more

Very difficult to work with this clinic. I had good therapists, but my psychiatrist, susan gonzalez, was regularly an issue. at first during intake she said she didn't feel comfortable prescribing the drugs I was already taking, so she altered the dosages downward. then began a multi-year rollercoaster of not being able to get ahold of anyone directly, constant issues with timing on prescribing- leave a voicemail to get med script sent to pharmacy, oop, susan is out today, and she doesn't work on fridays.. it finally came to a head when I needed my script sent in before our 3 month call, and she refused. so I called clinic and spoke to the clinic manager. Holy unprofessional. she came at me with punitive and shaming language. I told her I am firing susan after our call. when it was time for our call- susan NO SHOWED. I needed my meds, she knew I was desperate, it had already been days without, the pharmacy had trouble sourcing both dosages, so the end dates were off, so I had two different sets of dates to deal with. she let me sit for 30 minutes waiting for her, and when I finally called clinic, they told me that's how this is going to go- susan doesn't "feel comfortable" with you as a patient. they were forced by law to give me two week supply and did so begrudgingly. what an absolute nightmare it has been dealing with this place. all the reviews I read through seem to show definite patterns emerging. mainly it just is much too difficult to get and maintain medications simply to live life, because they can't be gotten ahold of. billing issues, weird gaslighting by people supposed to help, just a very strange, very negative experience. Recently attempted suicide. This was an emergency appointment based on that. Dr Trinidad consistently interrupted me when asking basic questions, which I explained makes me anxious. Since I am trying to get medicine to help with anxiety, I assumed that would indicate more care and patience were in order. This was not the case. After Trinidad essentially chased me out of the room, I called and spoke to the director, Kim. The version she heard from Trinidad was that I didn't want to answer questions. The reality is Trinidad was using terms and jargon I didn't understand because I don't have the same medical training. I highlighted this to no avail. Listen, I got out of bed this morning, got dressed, and drove half an hour in traffic just to be here hopibt to get help. I hate getting out of bed. I hate traffic. I hate putting on clothes if I don't have to. If I didn't want to be here, I wouldn't have shown up. Take some responsibility. It takes two to communicate. If one party is having difficulty, it is incumbent upon the other party, especially when they are the "expert" (Kim's choice of word), to adjust their approach in order to ensure proper care is administered. Now I'm sitting in the lobby, unsure if I should get behind the whee, wondering what to do next. Speaking with Kim had much the same effect as with her staff, more anxiety, not less. How on earth does someone manage to run such a business when they treat people this way? I still need help with anxiety, and I'm worse for wear. Would not recommend. I mean...someone who recently attempted suicide is sitting in your lobby and you aren't even offering a sympathetic ear. Jesus Christ that's a bare minimum for being a decent human being. read more

Providers were great but the billing department and management are completely, dangerously incompetent. Expect to be billed erroneously and incorrectly, expect insurance coverages to bewilder the staff, expect to receive letters from them threatening collections and adverse credit reports only to be told those letters were sent in error. Oh, wait, no, they weren't, pay up. Oops again, no need to pay! Oops, yeah actually we goofed again, pay up, so sorry! My therapist complained that she had lost many patients due to the billing department before she lost me as a patient due to the billing department. Financial stress from a change in life circumstance was part of the reason I went to Psych Recovery in the first place, and I left with worse financial stress due entirely to their ineptitude. Some very unfortunate things happened to me, my luggage was stolen (with my medications inside) and I spoke to them on the phone about it (1:30 PM)- they truly did not care. They said they would call me back, at 3:45PM I decided to call back. I got hit with an answering service, the staff do not care at all. I have been seeing my provider Suzan for 2+ years now. I am always treated with respect, and the front desk office is prompt and professional. I like having the option of in-person or video appointments. Medication refill orders are taken care of in a timely manner by the triage department. I personally have never been harassed by the billing department, and my charges have always been correct. read more

Where to start? Well, the bldg is quite depressing, run down and half abandoned, the waiting room is disgusting with happy-talk art that looks like one of them did it between patients. When you finally are seen, you walk down a hall with framed 8x10s of celebrities such as CARSON DALY!!! The folks running this place though well-meaning are quite aged and out of touch, as is the whole operation. There is no direct voicemail to your care provider, no individual email addresses, Just a main triage voicemail and when I needed to send an email I was directed to one that contained --I shit you not -- "PRViruscare". Never received any confirmation of its receipt and it was quite a sensitive document I emailed them. They have no access to MyChart so any outside info going in or out is a real nightmare and again, you can't contact anyone in your care team with any ease... A real inmates running the asylum vibe with no direct way to get ahold of anyone when you have questions about YOUR MENTAL HEALTH AND MEDICATIONS. That seems pretty important, no? Anyway. They're fired. I am trying to get well, not worse. I'll look elsewhere. read more

My heart is so broken... Prior to coming to Psych Recovery - I had been consistently misdiagnosed/wrong medications and with odds stacked against me, I tried Psych Recovery and met w/Deb Orman Psych/medication and Dr Reena Pathek/excellent psychologist - Once I was correctly diagnosed 2006 and w/ the help of these two, living life normally. I have referred plenty of people because of that awesome help I initially received, but since then have stopped... I referred a person for anxiety, wasn't able to get an appointment for 3wks, found another provider and cancelled the appt. but was billed over $200.00 for the visit that was cancelled- client just paid it - I was upset/no resolution... another person tried repeatedly to get an appointment and just couldn't connect, time lapsed and was told she could never come to the clinic after being treated only at this clinic...no reason given... another person had been misdiagnosed repeatedly, but definitely has severe anxiety/suicidal ideation, finally got an appt. for 30 days out- completed intake, but was told you need a different therapy and to schedule an intake which was completed a week later, but was told after the 2nd intake that you need to go back to that 1st person and schedule therapy with them... this said person was broken and felt the issue was self, but reality it was Psych Recovery and no one at the clinic will take accountability for their actions.... I am afraid for the people that come to the clinic now... it is no longer what it was 15 years ago... There was mismanagement of funds and such, but thought all that was fixed, apparently not given the first scenerio... read more

RED FLAG: Do not work with these people. My last psychiatrist was absolutely amazing and when she left this practice, I followed her, but she passed away. Before she passed away she said she left Psych recovery over moral issues and unethical managers and staff. Oh boy, she was not lying. I had FMLA paperwork. My psychiatrist and I approved of the amount of hours all was good and passed along. This was literally 4 hours a week for debilitating panic attacks. Well days go by and my work contacts me to tell me that they have not received my paperwork. I call and call and leave voicemails as they don't have live RN or provider line. The staff said my paperwork was lost, then "found", then they unethically sent an old form from months ago and just changed the date. Sickening. So finally OVER a month later with my job in danger because of no form turned in and after leaving multiple messages on the voicemail of the clinic manager and RN line, I get a call from the clinic manager (she does not even deserve such a title), saying that my counselor needs to complete the form. She can't because she does not have a medical license (they know that). Then they say oh Susan Gonzalez does not feel comfortable with giving you four hours a week. AFTER A MONTH. I would be fine with that, it's her decision. But to lie, ignore me, not respond? There is no excuse for it. Then I was told by the clinic ***r that she has nothing to do with it and refuses to take responsibility for something that was not her mistake. She said she can do nothing about it. I asked her why wait so long, why have me go through so much stress? Why not be professional, timely, and clear. My job is in danger, but because I have an amazing ***r (who also happens to be a clinic manager), my job is safe. I work in healthcare and we process these all the time. They physically go through my hand. I would NEVER EVER treat a patient this way. I would never put anyone's job in jeopardy. I have been in this situation before and I did my damn best to take care of people in my care. This clinic is a joke. These people have no mercy or compassion. I am very understanding and patient, but all that was offered was lies. Not even an apology. You people AND Susan Gonzalez should be totally ashamed of yourselves. Peoples lives and livelihoods are in your hands. If this happened to me, it could happen to you. And I am sure its happened to countless others. In my time working in healthcare I will personally take responsibility and accountability for what I did do and did not do, that I should of. My late Psychiatrist Catherine was right that this place has MAJOR ETHICAL ISSUES. I hate to say this, but I truly mean it. The manager is VERY unethical and Susan Gonzalez is a UNRELIABLE. GOOD RIDDANCE AND BEWARE. Don't ever allow yourself to be toyed with like I was. At first sign of incompetence and disregard find another clinic! Be well. Don't get me started on billing. Psych Recovery only cares about your wallet. Once you stop or can't afford to pay them anymore, they will treat you like a second-rate nobody. First, they failed to run my insurance correctly (they were only charging $10 for the copay instead of $20 like they should have been if they bothered to check with my insurance) then they tried to say it was because I owed a coinsurance. They claimed I owed $450 in unpaid copays. When I paid $200 of it, I asked them where the discrepancy is occuring; they refused to tell me. Only after I called my insurance myself and verified that there was no coinsurance and my copay should cover everything, did they finally "rerun" my insurance and miraculously my bill was reduced from 250 to 155. After they reran my insurance I spoke to the director, Kim, a truly nasty and vile woman who came off as condescending as possible. Kim told me "it's a lot of work every time you ask for us to go over your records, we won't do it any more." Blaming me for their screw up and getting upset at me when I called them out on it. After I told them this entire thing was their mistakes, Kim told me I was unable to see either my therapist or psychiatrist and my meds would not be refilled, putting me at risk of active withdrawal solely because I wouldn't accept their bs to extort me for more money. They bill you almost $100 for missing an appointment for any reason by the way. My therapist Sarah Bixler was nice enough but did absolutely nothing to help this situation and actively refused to refer me elsewhere after I got upset at her for not even attempting to amend the situation or show compassion to me. I would not recommend this place for anyone with a mental illness. All you are is a paycheck to them. read more

I do not have confidence in the head of this department, I was told several things that were not followed through on in addition to being ripped off all meds and after leaving voicemails and trying to contact my doctor I was denied and not called back. Do your mental health issues interfere with things like memory and careful advance planning? And do you like being tortured? If you answered yes to both these questions, then I HIGHLY recommend Psych Recovery! They do great things like prescribing you a medication, then abruptly denying refill requests until you schedule a new appointment, leaving you to suffer through horribly painful withdrawal symptoms. No one told you you'd need to schedule an appointment to get a refill? F*** you, that's why! Want to go ahead and call to sort things out? Oops, they didn't tell your pharmacy why they were denying your refill request until 3PM on a Friday a week after you called it in, and their phones close at 3:30! Guess you'll have to wait three more agonizing days to get ahold of them! Yes, the office is still open. No, they won't lift a finger to help you. Go see a human being capable of compassion and empathy. You won't find anyone like that at Psych Recovery. I am in so much pain. read more

I haven't had any great experiences at Psych Recovery, but I only go there for medication management. If you're looking for info about their therapeutic services, I really can't speak to that at all. I got all of my original prescriptions from a doctor at the University of Minnesota, and only started coming to Psych Recovery after I graduated and could no longer see my doctor at Boynton. That doctor referred me to Psych Recovery, so now I see Dr. Sandy for my meds. She's fine. We don't talk much, but she knows I see a different doctor for therapy so I really can't hold that against her. The reason I'm giving Psych Recovery a 2 star rating is because the wait time is atrocious. Every time I've gone there (4x a year for the last 3 years), I've had to wait at least 20 minutes past my appointment time, which is totally unacceptable. read more

Was recommended by my therapist to see a psychiatric nurse practitioner here and see if medication would help my anxiety/ depression. The office was easy to find however, finding a place to sit and wait was not. In their small and crammed waiting room there were probably 15-20 other people waiting- it was not comfortable. The receptionists were nice and the 'first time' paper work was quick and straight forward. After waiting 17 minutes past my appointment time, the provider I was going to see (Sandy Klein Hegge) finally came and rushed me into her office. She didn't seem to have any interest in getting to know me or my problems what so ever. She read off a list of yes or no questions without ever making eye contact and then had me quick fill out two survey/scale sheets for mood and anxiety. 15 minutes after entering her office she came to the conclusion that medication wasn't for me, but not after she made me feel bad about previous drinking problems and encouraging me to see if my 'low mood' would dissipate on its own. I had signed release forms with my therapist previously for her to send to Sandy before my appointment that way Sandy would have a good idea of what was going on and a more full picture of what I was dealing with. When I asked Sandy if she had received those she quick glanced through her stacks of paper on her disorganized desk and informed me that she did not have them. This was annoying to me so I asked her to look again so she went to check her mail box and found them along with a bunch of other papers she had failed to check up on over the past week- this seemed very unprofessional if you ask me. If I choose to pursue medication for my mental health again in the near future, I will absolute NOT be seeing Sandy and will probably check out another facility other than Psych Recovery. I felt like my problems (which affect my life a lot) were insignificant here and did not feel welcomed. read more

So I asked to go back there today to see a different Dr & told them how horrible Dr Vine was to me. I asked to see someone else & they said Dr Vine is the director & they didn't think it was a good fit. And they had to ask him if I can see a different Dr. I have to give Dr Vine credit because he was the only Dr who found me a sleep medication that worked. But he had me taking propanol for anxiety & I was barely able to move, I couldn't get out of bed for work at 4pm. And he was just so rude. He'd rush me out of the office in like 10 minutes. He wouldn't listen to anything I had to say about my life. I can't imagine how he'd be with someone who couldn't identify their symptoms. He has Aspergers. He was like emotionless & cared more about his time because it was money. And several Drs failed me on this, but he was part of it. I was on Abilify for 12 years & was afraid to talk or stand up for myself which had severe consequences to my life. read more

I am going to have to be the dissenting opinion on this one. Everyone here is giving this one star but to me it is the ONLY place I have ever been to that I would give a good rating. And a five star rating at that! My psychiatrist (Dr. Vine) actually listens to me and takes my concerns into consideration and answers my questions well. My former therapist (not currently in therapy at the moment) was so caring and tried all sorts of unique things that weren't just babbling in a stuffy room like most people. My daughter sees the child psychologist there (Dr. Kaplan) and the improvement we have seen in less than a year has been amazing. I was worried she would try to push medicine or something on my child (which I am vehemently opposed to for her condition) and she never once made us feel like we had to do that. She's a great therapist and I am so thankful for the help she's given us. Parking here is plentiful and it's easy to find since it is basically right on University and 280 in a giant building. Front desk staff is great and it's easy to make appointments. They also take a wide variety of health insurance types, I believe. read more

If I could give a ZERO I WOULD. Horribly put together. Nothing is organized, staff extremely rude. Constantly canceling appointments/ rescheduling, charging for cancelled appointments They cancelled! They do not care about the mental wellness of the people coming in. The Owner Kim is the worst human being in the planet. Nora at the front desk is so undertrained it is ridiculous. Monica was nice at first but then rejected my appointment because I told them what they were doing was wrong. The Psychiatrist's do not take their job seriously. They turn you away when you need help. Deb Orman is the worst of them all she doesn't care about the people she sees. She's just there to pay her bills That's it. THIS PLACE IS A LITERAL JOKE. Laura Zachmann, the Clinic Administrator, and her staff are completely incompetent. If you expect your billing to be done right, don't go here. After five years of seeing an excellent therapist at Psych Recovery, she was forced out of the clinic. She, like the other therapists there, had an agreement whereby Psych Recovery would take care of her billing for her. They failed completely to keep their end of the bargain. They didn't fulfill their responsibility to file the proper paperwork so that my therapist would remain in the Medica insurance network. Because of this, I (and presumably many other patients she worked with) was hit with a massive unexpected bill as my therapist was now considered "out of network." Needless to say, I had to cancel all my future appointments. A month ago, my therapist assured me that the paperwork would be filed retroactively and the bills resubmitted. I'm still waiting to see that happen. And, judging from what I've seen so far, I doubt that it will. Meanwhile, my therapist understandably discontinued her practice at Psych Recovery and moved across town. This has damaged my mental healthcare. Now, I need to find a new therapist - not an easy thing. It is Laura Zachmann's fault. I'm not taking it laying down. I've informed the Attorney General Ellison's office, and I will joyfully take them to small claims court to clear up the bill if I have to. You have been warned. read more

Minimum of 20 minutes wait after appointment time, morning and afternoon. Every single time. DNP/RN seemed unprepared for appointments. Was not interested in requesting and viewing medical records until after first appointment. After a number of appointments, told her that I had to take time off of work and was tired of appointments always starting so late and that I was done. She wouldn't give me refills, the purpose of my visit, so I had to go without until I could find another provider. read more

I had to go without my medication for several days because I had to switch pharmacies and the prior authorization didn't transfer over. The pharmacy suggested I call Psych Recovery directly because they never heard back from them. I did and explained the situation to a very pleasant man who answered the phone. He directed me to leave a message on their triage line. I left a message explaining who I am and what the situation is and thanked them in advance......and never heard back and neither did the pharmacy. After trying for the third time to pick up the medication, I decided I'd better call in the next day. That night, I left a comment on PR's Facebook page respectfully expressing that I was frustrated with never hearing from them and not getting my medication. This morning, I got a call from the very rude manager, Kim, who said "I don't know anything about that!" and dismissed my concern after I told her that the authorization didn't transfer over. She spoke to me in a curt and disrespectful tone from the word "hello." She then told me that they were discontinuing my care because I had left a complaint on Facebook. I promptly filed a complaint against them with HealthPartners. They discontinued my care for petty and childish reasons in the middle of a pandemic as retaliation because they know I don't have other options right now. At best, it's extremely unprofessional. At worst, it's cruelly endangering someone's health. It's completely unconscionable. From reading other reviews, it's also typical. These people do not belong in the mental health field at all. They're endangering people to maximize profits. I would not be at all surprised if they keep trying to bill my insurance. read more

I made an appointment to see a psychiatrist at Psych Recovery in the fall of 2021. I sent in paperwork, including a list of my medications, prior to my visit as requested by Psych Recovery. When I came for my appointment, I saw a psychiatric nurse practitioner instead of a psychiatrist. I was told that because of the complication of my medications, she couldn't help me. She had the list of my medications well before my appointment.Why couldn't she have called me and let me know that she wasn't competent to handle my medications? Instead I wasted 2-3 hours of my time taking Metro Mobility and $8.00 in transportation costs for a visit where I got no help at all. Now, on 1/26/22, I get a message stating that they made an error copying my Medicare card and asking me to email a picture of the Medicare card. I don't have the capacity to do so. I sent them the number on the card which should be sufficient for them to file for payment for a visit where I received no care whatsoever. Unless you have a very simple psychiatric problem and are currently not on medications, don't waste your time going to this clinic. read more

I am also dissenting - I think there's nothing wrong with this place. They say it's hard to find a mental health professional with whom you jibe, and many people have to try multiple clinics to find the right one. I see Sandra here and we clicked right away. I think she gets what I'm going through, and if not, it's my fault for not properly articulating it. She's very empathetic and has helped me achieve great progress in the past few months conquering anxiety and depression. read more

Psych Recovery has only made me worse. All I need are medications to keep me sane, but they don't care enough to make sure I get even that. Psych Recovery always denies refills without any warning, leaving me no choice but to go off my meds until I can get in for an appointment, which of course ends up being weeks in the future. If they cared at all about the welfare of their patients, they would call them and tell them that they need to come in soon, or risk having their medications cut off. But that would be a crazy pipe dream, as Psych Recovery doesn't even have the common decency to call you and let you know when they deny your medications. I have at times been able to get the medications temporarily until the appointment. But I had to hound the triage person over and over until he would actually deign to talk to me. This kind of callous disregard for my well-being would be awful if it were a phone company, but coming from a psychiatrist's office, in the business of helping especially vulnerable people, it's downright sadistic. It is as if they want their patients to commit suicide. Because there is a general shortage of psychiatrists, they can pretty much do whatever they want and still keep their jobs. (Never mind that their jobs could be done by pharmacists.) So you might have no other option than Psych Recovery to get the medications you need. But at least try first to get them through a GP's office or any other place that will occasionally lift a finger to make sure you stay alive. read more

Wait times can be long and it is very hard to reach a therapist or psychiatrist as often I will have to leave a message at their "triage" voicemail. Some of the providers are fantastic though and truly care about me as a person and a patient. I think it really depends on who someone sees and if their isn't a match then it's important to see a different provider. read more

I really wish I had listened to the reviews before going to Psych Recovery. I didn't really mind the wait times that other people mentioned. I waited between 15-30 minutes after my scheduled appointment to be called back, but I think it probably depends on the provider. The waiting room, however, was extremely cramped. It isn't the biggest deal in the world, but it definitely didn't help. I saw a psychologist for some psychiatric testing. He was a nice enough guy and seemed to be good at his job. However, after receiving my results 2 weeks after the initial testing, he informed me it would be about a month before the report of the diagnosis was ready. Two months and multiple calls later, and I am just now receiving the report. I understand that he was probably backed up and busy, but without that report I could not move forward or begin treatment. When talking to friends in the medical field, they all made it clear that taking that long to write a report is often unacceptable. Just a heads up, this next part I'm going to talk about my specific issues with depression and an eating disorder. I went in to discuss switching my depression medicine after some complications with my current one. I also mentioned that I am working through a binge eating disorder. The nurse practitioner I saw was very nice and easy to talk to, and started me on a new medication without really going over the side effects with me. I am not normally one to trust the internet over my doctor or NP, but when I looked up the medication, appetite increase was not only a side effect of it, but a GOAL of it, which would have been disastrous for my eating disorder. She made it very clear that if there are any problems with any medications, to talk to her and I could try a different one. But after blatantly ignoring one of my primary concerns, I decided to just go to another provider at a different place. After two bad experiences, I decided that Psych Recovery is just not the place for me. But after deciding to go elsewhere, I was charged $75 for a missed appointment, which I never missed and they had plenty of written documentation that I was there. I took days and so many phone calls to figure it out, and I know that this problem has happened to many people. I am just lucky that I had the time to be able to take care of it, although I'm still not hopeful that I won't be penalized for not paying the fee. The only good thing about Psych Recovery is that they are easy to get into and there are many appointments available (this in comparison to other psych clinics.) But the accessibility of it is not worth it. Please consider going elsewhere! read more

I saw Dr. Eduardo Trinidad as an emergency referral and it was honestly the worst experience I've had with a mental health provider. He was very distant and seemed mildly annoyed and hurried the whole time. This man has some of the worst bedside manner (or whatever you call that with mental health) I've ever seen. It was very apparent that he did not take me seriously, even as I told him I had been passively suicidal recently. No concern whatsoever, and only annoyance when I objected to the way he was treating me. It seemed like he was just going down a checklist - he kept asking me basic, obvious questions about bipolar disorder despite my indication that I wasn't experiencing anything like mania or other highs of positive emotions. When I asked for a refill on an existing prescription I had for klonopin (which I had ON HAND), he told me he couldn't verify that I actually had the prescription so he wouldn't do it. Despite me having the bottle with me and the contact information for the psychiatrist who had prescribed it. He instead prescribed a seizure medication I had never been on as an alternative for anti-anxiety medication. I came to him because I was in dire need of refills on a prescription I had started about a month ago. At the time of that initial prescription I had been told that I could request Wellbutrin (which is not even a controlled medication) as a supplement, yet Dr. Trinidad refused to prescribe this despite my having felt good effects on the medication previously. He very obviously did not value my input or suggestions on anything. Literally the only good thing I can say about him was that he was willing to give me refills on one of my existing prescriptions. Except not really, because he clearly didn't care about making any current or future adjustments to my medication despite my symptoms growing worse. Maybe the other providers at this clinic are different, but I know another person who also had a very negative experience with Dr. Trinidad. If you can, try to find someone less callous who at least pretends to care about you. read more

Do not see Dr. Thomas Gratzer. I am a pre-health student with several chronic conditions and go to the doctor much more frequently than the average person. Despite this, I have never had worse experiences with a healthcare provider in my life. I came into my appointment with a long list of my symptoms and not only did Dr. Gratzer cut me off once I said I was have a relapse of major depression and rapidly listed typical symptoms while refusing to let me talk. Three times he also referenced a symptom that was the opposite of what I was experiencing despite me correcting him several times. He spent barely any time with me during every visit including my initial intake (which is typically much longer than follow up appointments) and did not explain his medication choices (important since many combinations have failed for me and I specifically asked him to explain his choices). He is a med pusher who seems to have very little interest in the lives, experiences, or wellbeing of his patients. He also told me the medications he prescribed "did not have side effects" which was completely untrue. I only went to Dr. Gratzer because I was in desperate need of care and he was the only psychiatrist who was taking patients (I called 7) and had to continue seeing him a few more times for the same reasons. I am not someone who is easily displeased or typically writes reviews, but if you have to see this doctor you will need to advocate endlessly for yourself (at a time when it is likely you are not able to do so for mental health reasons). I wish I would have told him this directly but was not in a place mentally to do so nor think it would have done anything. I can't speak for any of the other doctors at Psych Recovery since I had no experience with them. Haven't seen this doctor for many months and do not plan to return. read more

I have never been treated so rude by people who are supposed to be professionals in the mental health care business. I was trying to make an appointment for my son who is only 14 years old and suffers from depression with a psychiatrist, but because I had canceled an appointment there a month earlier for ADHA testing last minute and gone to the Wilder Foundation for an assessment the clinic manager "Laura Zachmann" said I would never get another appointment there again, I should of had the testing there. She went on to say people like me! what ever this implies! wastes her time I explained I canceled the appointment which is my right, because I didn't believe my son had ADHD, which in turn I was right, She said at "HER CLINIC" which apparently she funds; owns; and operates this clinic. all of you parents in Highland Park and Saint Paul who children going though a rough time as a teenager Wilder Foundation is a great big tool box full of assets waiting for and your family they will refer you to a reputable place to get counseling and a good psychiatrist. I would stay away from Psych Recovery this will be a disappointing experience and to honest it will only make you feel frustrated in your journey and hopelessness like none cares and this is not what any parent needs this Laura has NO HEART or SOUL stay away. take care all parents PEACE! read more

The 3rd time she then scheduled someone else in my normal weekly spot was the last time I stepped foot in that place. Now, two weeks later, I get a recording saying not to miss the 4:30 appointment that I never made or I would be charged for it. Find a real clinic and bypass this mill. read more

The people at Psych Recovery have literally saved my life. Sufferring from major depression, I have been in and out of treatment centers and clinics my entire life, and never have I encountered such a professional, knowledgeable, and caring staff. I see my Psychiatrist, Therapist, as well as attend a DBT group, and all have been the best I have ever had. After only a few months of treatment, I am already feeling better, more hopeful, and better able to function in life. Take it from someone who has seen a multitude of doctors and therapists for mental illness, I have finally found a place that works. read more
