If you do not have an HR person, they can come out to help with anything you might need - recruitment, employee handbook, staff training, you name it. If you do have an HR person, they are still a wonderful organization to belong to because they can assist with any of the more tricky issues (legal woes, FLMA, worker's comp, discrimination, etc.), and provide ongoing training and support. My boss used them before he hired me to help him handle many of the HR functions of our organization, and once I came on board they helped us to develop our HR department and continue to provide aid whenever we need it. They have an "HR Hotline" when you have a question about employment law or other odd issues. They offer a yearly HR conference and a yearly Employment Law conference right here in the burbs, and both are fantastic. If you are a job seeker, I do not recommend working with staffing agencies for a few reasons. Let's get into a few problems with this one in particular. Most of these reasons are applicable to the other agencies out there. First, this staffing agency asks for sensitive information before you are certain you have a job. When I came for the interview, they asked for my social security card and bank account number. This made me very uncomfortable, considering I was not assured a position. A few days after meeting with the recruiter, I followed up about the job I interviewed for. He said the job was "on hold" but the company really liked my resume. Sure... Shortly after that, he said the job had been filled by an internal candidate. Ultimately, that seems to be how it goes at most companies. A series of interviews are conducted with external candidates. In the meantime, an internal candidate has been selected. In a way, I can't fault this staffing agency for that. The recruiter seemed transparent, but all he really wanted was to enter me into the big database of job candidates. I worked with this agency months ago and have not been contacted with any further job leads.

I left her a message the same day and never got a call back. I called again on 8/19/13 and got a hold of her and she stated she already had the position filled. So I asked her when can I schedule with her to come in for testing and to fill out paperwork and she said not to bother we don't work that way. I asked why and she just hung up. OK...I DON'T THINK SO!!!! So I called her supervisor and told her what had happened and she explained to me the procedure. When I told her I never got a call that day back about the position that she just found someone else she also was quite rude in her response, "Oh well!" So then after some arguing about the fact that I did make the attempt to call her that told her I think her employee was not doing her job she didn't give me any hope to do any business with them whatsoever.
