Im a sucker for hot dogs so when I saw the PS 561 food truck i knew what i was eating! The line wasnt bad and I ordered The Rockford. This is an almost chicago dog which comes with relish tomatoes and jalapenos. The bun was incredible as it was buttered and toasted and a good size hot dog bun! I really enjoyed my hot dog. The price for a dog was 5 dollars. It didnt come with any extras like the tater tots or a drink. Those cost extra if you want them. IF i ever see PS 561 again I would definitely buy another dog from their food truck. 5 Stars from me...because I love hot dogs and i love PS 561! read more

Go Ps561! Thanks for taking the title to my 800th review :) I finally got the honor of checking out this awesome food truck in downtown Lake Worth the other night for the Food Truck invasion event. The menu kicks ass. You can get a dog with different types of creative toppings. Each one of the menu items have a crazy name for them and it suits each one well. I wanted to try all of them, but I stopped myself from doing so. The Exchange Student was ahhhh-mmazing! It was topped with garlic mayo, pineapple, and potato chips. The bun was perfectly toasted with butter and I enjoyed each bite more than the last. My husband got the Principal Ron and it was topped with bacon, BBQ sauce, and goat cheese. I took a bite of his and it was good, but I wanted mine more ;) Kudos to the guy that was doing the orders that night since he was the only one on the truck doing all the work. Even though it was the longest line out of all of the other food trucks that were there, he quickly handled each order smoothly and didn't stressed about the crowd waiting for those delicious dogs. The schedule is online, so you can check out when and where you can get one or four of these delicious hot dogs. The $5 price is fairly reasonable for each one of them. After reading a review earlier yesterday about hot dogs (thanks Cherine A. lol) I had a craving for one! Lucky for me the Food Truck Invasion was going on right down the street from my house and I saw that Ps561 would be there so I knew I had to go. The weather was not so great but I wasn't going to let a little rain stop me. I grabbed my dog (pun intended ha-ha) and we headed over to the Sunset Cove Amphitheater in West Boca. One good thing about the rain was there were no lines so I was able to walk right up and place my order. After a few suggestions I finally settled on #7 the Math Wiz. Now the bread is the star here if you ask me! Its buttered and toasted up before the hot dog and toppings are added. I could honestly just eat the bread by itself it was that good! It's topped with a crunchy slaw, sriracha and lime mayo. I loved it! My poor dog was dying for some but I didn't want to share (she got a treat later don't feel bad lol)! After discovering the food truck gathering in a local park in Boynton Beach! I knew I had to try P.S. 561! Such a creative theme! Hot dogs cleverly named "Doug E. Fresh", The "Math Whiz", The "Exchange Student", "The F.C.A.T". My friend and I went for the Doug E. Fresh and The Exchange Student!! Was not prepared for the deliciousness of The Doug E. Fresh hot dog!!!! On a split hot dog is bacon, cheddar, sauteed onions and the "561 sauce". Hands down my favorite hot dog thus far! The Exchange Student is garlic mayo, pineapple and crushed potato chips! Yes, crushed potato chips!! I loved it. First you get the saltiness of the potato chips and then you taste the sweetness of the pineapples! Soo very good! Really very good! They came to our office and are coming back again by request tomorrow! To be honest, I got one turkey dog and one hot dog and couldn't tell the taste apart. The only thing I did wish is that they had some side dishes you could eat with your hot dog like baked beans or potato salad. I typically don't want to eat 2 hotdogs, but one is just not enough. Their mostly priced at $5 each which for a plain old hotdog would be expensive, but for their supped up fancy versions is acceptable. Also, while the buttered roll is delicious, I would suggest if you are health conscious to ask them not to butter the roll. More pix to come. read more

I just love a thick warm hot dog and PS561 delivers them hot, long,and juicy! Okay Okay... Get your head outta the gutter and focus. I have tracked down PS561 more times then I would like to admit and I think my husband goes into withdrawal symptoms and slight depression if he can't get one of their delicious dogs once a week. Last night we took a group of 6 to a local Food Truck Event in Lake Worth and every single person in our crew agreed that the hot dog truck served the best food of the night. The menu changes at each event but you can pretty much get your favorites at any time. I usually order the Crazy Art Teacher which has the perfect amount of sweet and spicy flavor and then the chips give you a fun crunch on top. Last night I tried the very popular Exchange Student for the first time and I can see why I've heard so much about it. It has pineapple, garlic mayo and potato chips on top. YUM! Not only are the hot dogs insane but I have to admit the buns kinda steal the show. They are lightly toasted with butter and the insides are still soft and soak up all the yummy juices from the dogs. Hate to be the contrarian with the Yelpers here, but big buns and small dogs that rely on a lot of cheap, easy fats for their pop just don't impress me. I had a mexi dog with a stale overweight bun and salsa South of boring. That alone would have upped its game some. The tater tots were grease bombs so I threw them out after two. Bigger better dogs, smaller buns, and quit overloading the damn FATS! Also, clean the backsplash by the grill and the fryer. Gross! Star down for aging grease. read more

When someone is thirsty enough to spend $2 on a bottle of water, you would think that the party selling the water and getting an amazing profit, would at least ensure the beverages were cold. South Florida is finally catching the food truck bug. So in the booming market one must create their niche and Ps561 has done just that. Walking up to the bright yellow truck you will likely hear some independent hip hop pumping from the stereo in the truck. You will then be greeted by owner and hot dog genius Aaron. You will be present with a number of delicious choices that you will seriously consider buying more than just one before you even take your first bite. Each dog is split and griddled before added to a grilled bun. Then comes the fun part. Toppings that would make any elementary schooler eating a cafeteria hot dog jealous. My go to is the Crazy Art Teacher. Cheddar cheese, jalapenos, Frito chips and an extra generous amount of BBQ sauce. In no time you will be somewhere between half done or completely done when you realize you do want another. So just do it. The prices are right on target and Aaron is truly one of the nicest people you will ever meet. And that's overall, not just for someone working in the food biz. I usually don't eat hot dogs but one day I decided to try one from PS561. I went up and ordered a Dougie Fresh and went back to my truck to eat it and I was in love at first bite. After I finished eating my hot dog I went back to order another one. Even though I usually don't eat hot dogs anymore I have had a lot of them in my life and the dogs from PS561 are the best I ever had. They use sabrett all beef wieners that do NOT have MSG like most wieners have. They split & griddle cook there dogs which is the way i grew up eating my dogs. They also use the most incredible bakery fresh New England type of buns that get a light coat of butter on the sides and get browned on the griddle. All of the creations that PS561 have are excellent and well thought out. I am now a regular and try to visit PS561 when I can. I saw the truck today at a local middle school event. I was torn between the Doug E Fresh, FCAT, Principal Ron and the Math Wiz but decided on the Doug E Fresh. This is one of the best hotdogs I've ever had. The BBQ sauce is just amazing and who doesn't love bacon? The cilantro 561 sauce is also amazing with cheddar cheese and sautéed onions. Food truck designs have gotten pretty fancy-schmancy but I love the simplicity and design behind the Ps561 food truck. It just makes sense. I sampled PS561's tasty selection for the first time at Abacoa's Food Truck Invasion this weekend and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and ingredients. I ordered, "The Teacher's Pet" beef hot dog on a grilled and buttered bun with mac and cheese and then topped with BBQ sauce and it was tasty, fresh, and gloriously messy. I noticed that someone else mentioned the "bun toasted to perfection" and I agree. It was a main player in the game and not just the portable plate one can find at other hot dog carts. Heaven found in a hotdog! By far the best hotdogs I have ever had! I had my first experience with Ps561 at the Palm Beach Brewfest back in May. I tried the "Math Whiz" which is now my personal favorite. The "Exchange Student" is a close second that I skip back and forth to. So you know, this company also owns BFF (best French Fries) and Dough Dough Donuts) I went to one truck BFF, while my wife went to the PS561. I got the French Fries in 40 minutes. I went to her and sat as we ate the French fries, finished them and waited another 15 minutes for 2 Hot dogs. The Hot dogs are labeled "Gourmet Hot Dogs". I know what you're thinking ... it's just a hot dog, but oh no. This is no ordinary hot dog. You pick from a menu full of toppings like bacon, goat cheese, asian dressing ... the dog itself is great (plus there's a vegetarian option) and the buns are what kicks it over the top. Great food truck going bad; had the opportunity to come back and try the hot dogs after the new ownership. Unfortunately the new owner decided to save $$$ and change ingredients. Flavors are not the same !! The #1 seller doughy fresh does not taste the same way !! Sausage simnifically smaller .... Slower service than before also .... maybe he could be successful with the donuts and save money reducing cost on ingredients but not when it comes to protein. I first had PS561 at Dew South Brewery in Boynton. It was love at first taste. Everything about these hot dogs is a game changer. Best buns and flavor combinations around. My personal favorites are the "Doug E. fresh" and the "FCAT". Since my first experience at dew south I have now had PS561 during lunch in Boca where he posts up once a week as well as just this past Friday, when he was at a food truck round up by the YMCA in Boca. Nostalgic hot dogs!! In Illinois (50's) our family used to drive the Illinois and Indiana tollway to a Michigan vacation destination. It was at the Illinois tollway oasis set over the highway (Fred Harvey restaurants) or the Indiana tollway travel plaza (Host Restaurant) chain, where we found the best hog dogs we had ever tasted. They were "split n griddled", sitting in a grilled New England style bun just like Ps561. As an adult I never found a hot dog anywhere like it, never found the buns either.
