Dining at provocateur bistro was an interesting experience.
The music was a mix of a live saxophone, 90s hits and Elvis from the stereo and sometimes a mix between the both.
We could not decide if this was intentionally a weird mix of music styles, and therefore a funny hip ironic gimmick or not.
But it was delightfully weird, and I liked it.
The staff is friendly and service minded, but they messed up our orders, we were 8 people dining together, 50/50 grown ups and kids, all the grown ups ordered starters in addition to the main course.
At first, only half of us got our starters, a few of our main courses orders were lost due to an computer error. One of us even got his starter long after the main course!
All in all, this was a bit frustrating.
But when we finally got all our food, we agreed that this was delicious, but I still think french fries is a weird thing to serve with tartar.
The only thing I would have improved, was the burger, it was over cooked, but perhaps this was a result over the stress for getting half our orders delayed/lost.
This dining experience was tasteful, weird and nice, even if there was a few mistakes.
I wish that the staff had given us some discount or some kind of compensation for the delay in service, and perhaps adjust the volume when the saxophone because conversation was difficult when the sax was playing. (I'm taking away one star due to this) at some point we could not hear what the waiter was saying. (Or each other)
But the experience was nice, the food was great and all in all the evening was weird in a good and confusing way.
I think our party of 8 was a bit to much to coordinate for the computer system this evening.
Perhaps our experience is not representative if you are a smaller group.. read more
