This is, in my opinion, one of the most unique temples in the Church, both in design and in backstory. Built from the remains of the old tabernacle after the fire, it's a reminder of restoration in more ways than one. Architecturally, it's beautiful--red brick, tall spires, and carefully preserved details that give it an almost cathedral-like feel. Inside, it's just as thoughtfully done. It feels more vertical than most temples, and the staircases and layout give it a different sense of movement and space. It's not the largest temple, and it can feel busy at times (it's Provo, after all), but it's still a peaceful and sacred place. My family and I used to attend stake conferences here before the fire. I also took part in the annual BYU Adventsingen--both when I was in high school and later with the BYU German Choir. So yeah, I have a lot of fond memories tied to this building. The temple has lovingly preserved its spirit and structure, and that means a lot to me. Also worth mentioning is the annual Temple to Temple Run/Walk on Pioneer Day. It's a cool local tradition--a free 5K that starts at the Provo Temple (soon to be Provo Utah Rock Canyon Temple) and ends here. It's turned into a Provo favorite, and it's one of those small community things that makes this area feel special. Provo City Center is definitely worth a visit--especially if you appreciate a bit of history with your reverence. read more

When we visited Provo, we had to visit the new Provo City Center Temple. As you're driving through downtown, it is right there. It looks like a castle. It is absolutely beautiful. Because of covid 19 everything is closed and gated off. We were able to get close enough for a few pictures. I will definitely be back when they are able to open again. read more

Great structure, beautiful temple that gives character and style to downtown Provo. I cannot enter inside but my boyfriend used to live in Provo and attended this temple when it was a church as say is lovely. Well, I can say from the outside and is really impressive and beautiful. I like the gold angel and the surrounding area with the gazebo-visitor center and spacious outdoor. I like architecture a lot, and was amazed to see the contrasts in downtown Provo, as next to this temple you have the fabulous futuristic looking NuSkin headquarters (beauty company) and behind that you get the colorful old houses with some fun graffiti too. I truly love all LDS Temples but this one is my FAVORITE temple to visit. It's beautiful and on one of my favorite streets in Utah county... Provo Center Street. It's just all so charming. We love to go out to eat across the street and then walk around the temple afterwards. There is a little visitors center if you want to go in and ask questions. And very a very peaceful place and full of so many different plants and flowers. You can go inside if you have a temple recommend but if not it's still worth it to walk around and enjoy the beautiful building. read more

I used to come here for stake conference back when I was young, before the place burned down. My wife and I recently went here for the first time, and I couldn't believe the place. They built it from the ground up, it was amazing. From the outside, it looks just like the old building. On the inside, they dug down, and have made it completely different than how it used to be. Everything is brand new. Very clean, awesome people there. Highly recommended. Parking was easy, there is a nice visitor center just outside the grounds also. read more

Seriously incredible building! Provo experienced a serious loss when the tabernacle burnt down. Thank goodness that the mormons rebuilt it and made it just as grand! As the city gets older, people notice. This new house of worship is a huge improvement to the scenery. It's just one of the reasons we love this area so much! read more
