Its an empty field where they are testing the ground water levels, which are high, and which they will need to pump out a disgusting amount - dewater - into a nearby stream, to even build it! The community is fighting hard against it. The proposal is for it to be 88,000 square feet in size and 210' on the one steeple and 145' on the other. Its absurd and in the wrong place. Its a RA-1 zone, which has a height restriction of 35', its in the view shed of Mt. Timpanogos of thousands of people, and they plan to up-light it after maneuvering the county council members into passing a new lighting code for the ENTIRE county. Terrible neighbors. GETTING HERE: This…read moreLDS Temple is located at: 1451 S 1100 W Orem, UT 84058. TBH, I still struggle with Utah streets and maps, but the address is correct on Yelp and you should navigate directly to it without issue. It's located "between" the Interstate 15 and Geneva Road/the 114. REVIEW: This is a sacred Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Sacred Temples are not just associated with this church; other faiths have these holy buildings. A LDS Temple is different than ward buildings, which are open to the public. LDS Temples are only open to the public during the Open House before it's dedicated. Please review official Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints websites for information and data. The property is breathtaking. The Temple footprint is huge; I would almost argue it's near the size of the Los Angeles LDS Temple or even Salt Lake. I don't have the accurate data, but this Temple is huge. So majestic and breathtaking. There's no denying the peace and serenity one feels when they drive on the property. When you're in Utah, definitely make it a priority to see the Orem Utah Temple in person. https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/temples/details/orem-utah-temple?lang=eng This LDS Temple was announced: October 5, 2019 and the Groundbreaking began on September 5, 2020.

We arrived 10 minutes early and helped the priest, Father John Norman, prepare the center for Mass by setting out chairs and other small tasks. Just a few minutes before 5:00 pm people arrived from out of nowhere it seemed. Mass was lovely. The 50 or so Mass goers where mostly travelers and where delightful. Mass was short because there were no hymns sung (no choir). About 40 minutes as I recall. The center has nice windows facing the snow covered Alta Ski Resort and makes a perfect place for worship.
