There aren't many church that not only encourage, but offer training on how to be the best in the marketplace. There are folks that attend this church who are leaders in the marketplace. It's a church that does not shy away from politics, taking a stand, engaging, and putting up a fight where there needs to be a fight. This church also knows how to have fun and party. Many churches fail at catering to men. This church has AMAZING programs for men and women. K2 as a church has lost its' way and would be better off shutting its' doors. I guess it already…read morehas closed its' doors, and is now meeting in another church. We were all in for 12 years, but what began as an exciting adventure with God and so many great people, ended in excruciating spiritual abuse, unrepentant pastors scapegoating us and not at all owning up to their own lies and abuse, and the abandonment by our faith community. If you want to be entertained, go. If you want to be spiritually abused or scapegoated, get involved. I mean we were all in - my wife was worship leader 12 years, let go without warning & with complete lies, we were LTG leaders, LIT leaders, top givers, thousands of hours volunteering, gave our cabin fund for the capital fundraiser, loyal and faithful to K2 for years - then completely betrayed, lied to, lied about, and discarded. We found out after leaving that our story is not unique - but most choose not to tell their story b/c they know they will be gaslighted and not believed. Kinda like Mars Hill - there's a pile of bodies behind the K2 bus. It was the only church our boys' knew - the damage done by K2 leadership to my wife & family cannot be understated, it was soul annihilating. Leadership had 2 years to make it right, after confessing to us things they are unwilling to say publicly, but did nothing to make amends. If K2 were a business, we'd sue for fraud. And we heard the arts team was still lying about us in the green room 2 years later! If you leave, don't expect anyone to reach out to you - no matter the blood, sweat & tears you've invested. You will be bludgeoned by silence. Broken-hearted, to the core. K2 is an example of the crumbling evangelical façade - so glad we followed Jesus away from K2.

The worship music ministry is wonderfull!!! About once a month they do a night of pure contemporary with a touch of Latino devotion. The church has about 200 regular attenders, a children's ministry & a youth ministry. They have small community groups & a women's ministry. it's non-denominational Christian. They run a food bank several times a month along with Southeast Christian on Saturdays & Bible Study Fellowship International meets on Tuesday nights in the building (currently studying the Book of John; next comes Revelations). The leadership team and pastors are approachable Christians. The only reason I did not give a 5 star is that I like Sunday schools: and I do prefer Sunday services. But if you like or need an evening service, this is a great choice.

I visited for the first time this past week and was impressed with the music. The folks singing and playing were talented and passionate. From what I gathered online as well as from the service, these guys are a non-denominational Christian church that really want to reach out and include people from all walks of life and belief backgrounds. I just so happened to visit on a day when they were doing communion, and the pastor beautifully explained it before the service began. I chose not to participate, but respectfully sat and enjoyed the peaceful music. I didn't feel out of place or uncomfortable. The service was centered around scripture and connecting stories from the Bible to today's time. There was a strong feeling of inclusion and love, not judgement and shame. I left feeling positive and empowered. And that's just how I like to church.

But not just by the sermons but by getting involved into smaller bible studies. That is where you truly learn to connect with god. I had a major issue with titling for years, and after many years of these sermons and discussions in small groups I finally got it. I have been a christian all my life but never wanted to get more involved. SMCC is not for everyone, but it is for many! They teach the right truths and are biblically sound. Yes pastor rick may not be perfect, but that is ok he is just a man. Please don't just listen online, that is not the same. You need to be going for at least 3 months before you can make a clear judgement of any church your going to! Trust me I have been in many different kinds churches than most people have, this one is amazing! The review on titling is harsh and should be taken down until you have given this church more time! The worship was amazing & most definitely moved the room. However, when getting to the sermon, one gentleman read one verse, and then they preformed a skit around the death and resurrection of Jesus. While it was a cute performance and I did giggle, after the 4th disciple actor came on stage, an hour had gone by. I ended up leaving before the end of the service. For a Sunday...especially Easter...with the current heat of the times we are in... being in the word is vital. On a Sunday where we could strengthen our relationship with God, change hearts and make disciples, glorify Him, expand on His teaching and lean into His word... I fear it was missed. We need the truth, the word, so we can become disciples and plant mustard seeds of faith. We don't need feel good sermons, we need the truth. Again, I thought the skit was so cute but maybe for a Saturday where those who want to attend in their free time can.
