All of these people are going to have a very different perspective of the school because they all have experienced the schools in different capacities. I will be reviewing RBHS from the "former student" category of people. The thing that stuck out the most to me as a student (2004-2008) was that, for the most part, the teachers were quite good. Perhaps this isn't something I could necessarily fully appreciate while a current student who was annoyed by the homework load. However, in hindsight, I'm comfortable making the assertion that I received a quality education from quality educators. As a student during those four years, I felt that the social science department was notably the strongest. There were teachers who made me feel genuinely excited about a discipline that I had been otherwise uninterested in before taking their classes. For a teenager, that's a major accomplishment! It's really a shame that the referendum didn't pass and I'm disappointed that the arts were affected by it. I have high hopes for RB's future and I hope the community will be more supportive in the future. A better school = higher property values!

I was a victim of his control tactics, which had a lasting emotional and psychological impact. As a student athlete, I started every game I played. I was eligible to play, but he would use my game participation as leverage for obedience. For instance, when I expressed things he disliked, he would prohibit me from going to games. He made decisions based on his ego rather than athletic or academic merit. The result was deliberate sabotage of both my development and the team's. Jacob is sadistic. I remember him mocking me about recruitment while interfering with my opportunities. He would sit me out during games that mattered. For a young athlete, this behavior was damaging and reckless. He uses psychological mind games, pressure, and humiliation when in power. Years later, he saw me in person and attempted to apologize. That moment confirms his awareness of the harm he causes. He often sings in the chapel and projects a likable image while being evil behind the scenes. The contrast between his presentation and conduct is conflicting. As of the date of this writing, December 22, 2025, he is still teaching at the school, which is disturbing. Currently, he is the chair of the school's Social Studies department. His egotistical behavior places students' mental health at risk. Based on my experience, he is unfit to hold power over children. Parents should be diligent to protect their children from his manipulation. There are stronger private school options for academics and athletics. You should continue searching for better schools. Your child's future depends on it.

Great faculty, support staff, athletics, extracurricular activities, facilities and most important, the curriculum is rigorous and challenges students. The gym is a full basketball court that can hold 1 volleyball net. For spectators, there's room on the stage or they would go upstairs in the seating area. I'm guessing it can hold about 50-100 people... They recently refinished the gym floor so it looks nice and shiny. An average size parking lot that sometimes they allow public spectators whose kids are playing in the baseball fields next door to park if there's no more street parking. It's a typical private school, not really updated building/classrooms. It's better than driving into the city at another grade school gym and fight the traffic just to play volleyball.

Unfortunately, I can't speak for all, and it's unfortunate that there is some teachers and faculty members that pick and choose when they want to perform their duties and respond to things and important situations. As a parent of a student that attends that school for the last three years it's frustrating to not get your concerns heard in a timely manner, especially when it has to do with your child's safety and education. I reached out to Mr. Powers, plenty of times via phone and left a email and even spoke to his secretary, and he never responded until I reached out to the school principal. Only after the fact that I reached out to the principal, did he get back to me it seemed like when things got complicated and there was a miscommunication with faculty it was easier to just not deal with me. I can understand not getting back to someone in a couple days, but leaving the situation ignored for weeks on end is not only unprofessional but rude. His lack of not only miscommunication but actual education importance to some students is noticeable . I finally heard from him today and it makes me question if he was even going to reach out the principal was sitting right next to him and now he was trying to apologize. He waited until the last day of school to contact me. It was very obvious how he never intended to deal with the situation and doesn't want to deal with it. We are moving out of district now, so it was easier for him to wait until last minute. As a parent, the education and safety of my child is very important to me and when you contact a staff member and are not able to ever hear from them and you feel like they're dodging you it's overwhelmingly frustrating. Towards the end of the school year he made me and my children feel targeted and discriminated. I'm glad we won't have to deal with a vice principal like this anymore. Actions speak loud when you truly care about your students and their education and safety.
