Dr. Hughes is wonderful. We started out by having him treat our goats and potbelly pigs since he's the closest vet to us who treats those animals. We were still taking our dogs and cats to our vet that's only a few miles from us, but when she started having health problems, we started looking for a new dog/cat vet. Long story short, even though there are plenty of dog and cat vets within a few miles of us, we drive 35 miles to Dr. Hughes' clinic because we trust him and Dr. Brown. They are professional, compassionate, friendly, and just all-around good people.

Becca works miracles because we were questioning whether we needed to get rid of our dog before a baby was born. He had horrible door, leash, food, play manners. When on a leash, he would bark excessively and pull you aggressively to get to them if one of our family members got far away. He would steal food from our children or anything left out on the table. He was aggressive towards people coming into our house and would even bark at kids. Now he is a well mannered, obedient and confident dog. He has been such a joy to have with us and we can now take him anywhere we go! Over a year ago, my family members even told us we were not allowed to bring him any longer when we visited because of how he acted. Now they are excited to have him come visit too! On top of how well behaved he is, Rico never lost his goofy personality. When he is not being worked he is still his goofy affectionate self! So I used their doggie day camp services on July 21, 2025, however, they also offer short-term and long-term boarding. As soon as we walked in the staff knew who we were because they recognized my vehicle that I entered into their customer portal referred to as "Gingr." Through Gingr you may customize your dog's visit. During their day camp, for example, you may include Chauffeur Service ($20), Kong with Peanut Butter ($5), Pup Cup ($1), Barkansas Provided Meals ($5 each), Cookies ($3.99), and a Pawdicure ($15). The staff members were great! My canine only spent the day there from about 9 am to 5 pm, but I would have been completely comfortable with her being boarded there too. They emailed a report card and tons of photos. I bought her a pup cup. I'm not sure what time they offered it to her or if at all, but my grand total was $32.86 which includes a base rates of $29, plus a pup cup and tax (9.50% or $2.86). Records for Bordetella, rabies, and DHLPP (distemper/lepto/parvo) shots must be uploaded into Gingr before or during your reservations. Highly recommend.
