Absolutely not. They have small children ages 4 years old mixed in with children going into 7th grade the entire time! They use the excuse that majority of the kids attending are related to each other and cry if they cannot be with their sibling/cousin and that's why they put them all together. Disregarding kids that have no relatives present, and they do not provide age appropriate instructions. Rather, they allow their TA's to give instructions to all the kids, instead of asking of a small child can even read or write. They ask the older kids to take care of the small ones and even take them to the restroom to wash their hands or go to the bathroom. If you want your child to have age appropriate instructions or activities, along with help to go to the restroom please do not go here! The mix of preteens with kids who have not even started TK is wildly inappropriate and they use "family" and older older kids being "nurturing" as an excuse to not separate kids, hire age specific teachers and to actually provide age appropriate care for kids with a huge age gap.

I have to say that after all the schools we looked at I am extremely happy that our choice was Salem Lutheran. We feel so blessed that he has the most dedicated and caring teacher I personally have ever seen. Thanks to the dedication of his teacher, Ms. Anita he has learned so much in the short time that he's been there and I'm sure he will continue learning and growing. It is unfortunate that some parents who disagree with recent changes have chosen to respond in ways that risk damaging the broader community they are leaving behind. Reasonable people can differ on decisions and may believe certain situations could have been handled differently. However, it is disappointing to see disagreements escalate in a manner that seems inconsistent with the Christian values of grace, charity, and respect that this community seeks to uphold. Although many of us may not know all the details behind recent decisions, it is reasonable to assume they were made with the best interests and protection of the children in mind. Even in times of disagreement, I hope we can extend one another the benefit of the doubt and remain focused on supporting the community and students we all care about.

The only area the school needs a little bit of help is more representation from African-American, Asian, and Caucasian families. It is primarily Latino. We are a Caucasian family and have never felt more welcome at any school, including our Preschool, which was a Presbyterian Church Preschool. Isana took over Ribet's private school campus. There is a track, field, gym w/basketball court, stage, and lots of trees, privacy & security. They are expanding the sports program. Every child participates in a performance twice a year. They have amazing after school offerings which are free! Camps include free field trips!! My daughters have made wonderful friends, adore going to school each day and have advanced academically! I debated writing this review for a long time, but parents deserve to hear families' experiences…read morebefore choosing a school. Our family had a deep connection to St. Finbar. My children received their sacraments there, and my husband and I were married there. We were part of the parish community and trusted St. Finbar with our children and our faith. Unfortunately, our experience ended painfully. After I advocated for families and children and raised concerns I believed needed attention, Ms. Azar, the principal, told me I could no longer come onto the school campus. I was not trying to create conflict; I was trying to use my voice as a mother. Most upsettingly, I was told I could not pick up my own 3-year-old from the Early Fours program and would need a neighbor or friend to pick up my children. I felt my role as a parent was disregarded, and I ultimately had no choice but to remove my daughter after only a few months. We allowed our son to finish his final year at St. Finbar, but he experienced significant stress during this period. Children should not have to carry the emotional consequences of adult disagreements. I was also disappointed by how a private email to Ms. Azar was handled. I expected discretion and professionalism, but became concerned that its contents were discussed beyond the intended recipients. This significantly damaged my trust in the administration. Where Was the Pastoral Support? Because of our long relationship with the parish, we reached out for help. Father Francis was serving as pastor at the time. We also contacted the Archdiocese and Bishop Albert Bahhuth, hoping for guidance and support. We hoped Deacon Ryan, who married my husband and me at St. Finbar, would understand how personal this situation was and help us navigate it. From our perspective, we did not feel supported by the school leadership, parish, or broader Church community. That was heartbreaking. These people and institutions had been part of important moments in our family's life, yet when we needed pastoral support most, we did not feel we received it. St. Finbar's mission speaks of recognizing each person's dignity and providing an environment where students can grow spiritually, psychologically, socially, and physically. Our experience did not feel consistent with those values. Parents considering St. Finbar should read the current handbook carefully, especially policies concerning parents who raise concerns and circumstances under which a family may be asked to leave. Ask how disagreements and complaints are handled, how confidential communications are treated, how parent advocacy is received, and how adult conflicts are kept away from children. Speak with current and former families, not only the administration. I sincerely hope other families have had better experiences. Based on ours, I would choose another school and encourage parents to research all options thoroughly. We gave St. Finbar our trust, time, faith, and children. I will always regret feeling that I was punished for speaking up. Parents should not have to choose between advocating for their children and remaining in good standing with their school. Our children are now thriving in public school, and I am grateful we ultimately left. This was one of the most painful experiences our family has had with an institution we once trusted deeply. That is my experience, and I believe parents deserve to know it.
