The education and development of my boys have been very impressive. The 4yr old was potty trained in just over 2 years. He can read, write and even speak limited Spanish at just over 4yrs. With the limited amount of time my wife and I have with him I firmly believe Primrose is to thank. This is despite some teacher turnover that occurred after a large competitor moved in down the street and actively attempted to recruit away their staff last year. Why did my sons development continue with little relative impact? The curriculum. It simply works. At this age it's the strong controls over what, when and how our children are taught that allows Primrose to be so successful at educating our children. That's not to takeaway from the excellent staff whom we do appreciate. In addition to the education there is also the social development. Our children are not only academically intelligent - they are also polite, caring, social and resilient. Their emotional development appears to be well beyond that of others their age. As I said earlier - with the limited amount of time we get to spend with our boys - I trust Primrose to help develop them into successful students and socially responsible children - and they haven't let me down.

Our son has been in a few different daycares across the last few years due to closures and us moving and I can easily say this is our favorite. We've never had a center director that has been as responsive, present, and supportive as Ms. Brittany has been throughout this entire process. The assistant director and the classroom teachers have also been wonderful! They have live-streaming cameras which make checking in very easy but the trust that has been built so quickly has made the cameras just a simple, fun perk now instead of a comfort necessity. The teachers are also great at providing frequent updates on the app. Our son loves going to "school" and literally runs in most days! We are so grateful to the entire team there!

My 10 year old nephew attended summer camp here for the first time for 2 weeks of August. My husband and I were given a tour months before registration and as we can see from online photos, as well as in person, this place is visually impressive. They have beautiful art work everywhere, multiple rooms for activities such as culinary, bowling, an indoor basketball court, a theater area and dance rooms. We were told that our nephew would get to enjoy all of these rooms throughout the week and seemingly have a schedule full of activities to do. However, this wasn't the case at all. My first complaint about this camp is that you can NOT bring your own lunch. They definitely provide food, however ALL the children who go here hate it. I understand needing to account for allergies and as someone who works in hospitality simply telling parents what not to pack should be fine. I get that it's all wrapped into the price, but it should truly be an option, not a requirement. If you do want to bring in your own lunch, you will need a doctors note .... My next complaint is towards the lack of activities. He was basically doing the same thing everyday and the only fun activity that all the kids seem to actually like is called spike ball, which they can only play if everyone in there group is quite and non disruptive. If even one child acts up, no one can play at all and everyone must sit in silence for the remainder of the period. Another room that is considered hell to these children is called sensory. This room is filled with dirty toys and filthy plush die that the kids have to play with. My nephew told me that the other kids warned him about this room in particular, being gross with no actual activities set up for these kids to do, where they will end up spending the majority of their time during any given day. If your kid doesn't play basketball and they happen to have to spend some time at the indoor court, they can enjoy just sitting on the sideline for about an hour doing absolutely nothing else. In culinary, the only thing they do is assemble food that has basically already been prepared. No learning measurements or anything remotely cooking related at all, literally just assembling food. In the 2 weeks my nephew was there, he was able to bowl 1 time and out of 3 lanes only 2 were working. Sometimes the children would ask the consolers, "why do we have to spend most of our days in sensory?" or "can we do something else?" The answer to the first question would be an "I don't know" or "that's just how it is" and for the second question it's a "no". He definitely met a ton of kids who have been attending this camp for years who have all warned him of how shitty this place is and how much they hate it here. Either the parents don't know what their kids are actually doing here or they just don't care and are happy to pay $385 a week for their kids to sit in a pretty place with filthy toys for 5+ hours a days. This place was a complete waste of money and time. The counselors seemed overwhelmed at all times or just litlerly checked out. Seems like an administrative issue around rules and scheduling of activities. My nephew said for the most part the kids were nice and accepting and the counselors were okay but always seemed stressed out. This camp wasn't fun, wasn't engaging and wasn't clean. I hope this reviews will stop any new or existing parent from sending their kids here. Unless of course you have money to burn and you don't really care what your child is doing all day long. I'm almost positive that ANY good review on Google or Yelp for this place is paid for or from a parent with a toddler. If your kid is 8 years or older, this is NOT the camp for you. NEVER EVER AGAIN. I was hesitant to enroll him as I lost my first son in 2008 and was nervous about everything with this baby. Here is what I can tell you about this Center, why we chose it in 2013 and why we're going to be sad to leave when he goes to school this fall: 1.) This is not a typical daycare, your kids are their children. These women will be substitute parents. They will love, snuggle, teach, redirect, and clam your child when you cannot be there. You will almost never walk in the door and not see a child hanging on one of the staff members. The kids love them and they love really genuinely love your kids. They will be honest with you and work with you to ensure the best for your child. 2.) The environment is bright and fun! The kids are exposed to tons of projects in many different mediums. They work on letters, numbers, science, and how the world works around them. They celebrate and recognize your children and holidays, even bringing in recognizable characters like Santa for Christmas. They do a lot of special events for the kids throughout the year and even have Ms. Jean every Friday with her musical instruments and songs! 3.) Preschoolers work on school skills. Desiree teaches kindergarten skills such as letters, numbers, counting, name writing, cutting, coloring, etc. My son was writing his name, mom, & dad by the time he was three and when he attended preschool he already knew everything they were teaching. They work a full curriculum to keep the children busy and engaged. 4.) The children go outside, have water days in the summer, take walks to the nearby park, celebrate Earth Day, and even do Yoga on occasion to relax before nap. 5.) They let your kids be kids and don't stifle your little ones personality however big or small it might be--they will embrace your little human for who they are. 6.) Lastly, cost. Information is not available online but you can set up a visit. Pricing is better than any daycare center in the city. Full time rate cannot be beat and is nearly comparable to even some higher end in home centers except it's not an in home. Another mention is that they do open at 6 and are usually only closed for major holidays which is great if you don't have a flexible work schedule. I would say to only avoid this place if you don't want your child to be completely spoiled and loved during the hours you can't be there because the owner will be like a second grandmother and the teachers like an aunt.

As we have moved, we have attended 2 other centers that just can't compare to Goddard's curriculum and care level. First of all, Tammy (the Director) is absolutely top-notch. She is knowledgeable, open, and kind. The teachers are fantastic & so caring. Everyone knows my kids names in that school, it blows my mind. My girls absolutely love their teachers & can't wait to go to school each day. I should also point out that one of my daughters attends Special Education classes at Wayzata Early Learning Center 3 days a week & Tammy even met with our case worker to ensure they were collaborating on how to best serve her learning style. Tammy is always willing to advocate for my child's best care, even when there is extra work involved. I guess the best way to describe this place is above and beyond. They create sensory activities, hire special entertainment guests for the kiddos, host 'Parents Night Out' events...we are continuously impressed. They also use an app that allows you to see fun pictures of your kids throughout the day & get a digital summary of the days activities. Everything just feels so well run, we never 'worry' about our kids there. My guilt as a working mom has melted away. I definitely encourage you to tour Goddard if you are thinking about it.
